After the Firestone tire recall started I checked my tires to see if they wer part of the recall and I noticed that they were not but what I did find were some "stress fractures" in the tire. I took it to the dealership where I purchased the truck and they stated the tire was defective and there was nothing they could do. I then took the tire to a Firestone dealer and he also stated the tire was defective and I would need it replaced. He also stated that I would need to replace all of the tires due to the treadwear on my tires. I have leased the truck and the tires are supposed to last me the term of the lease. This is not a problem I caused myself and I feel it should be replaced free of charge which Firestone refuses to do. At this point I am thinking of filing a class action suit agains Firestone. I don't feel that the recall should be limited to the 15" tires when it probably effects all sizes. Please advise me. (tiresize: P245/75R16)( dot number: Tire size: P245/75R16 )

Left a traffic light and was traveling on expressway at about 55 mph. Right rear tire blew and I had to pull off and change it. Tire appears to have seperated where tread meets sidewall on outside of tire. Tread belts in that area are twisted and out of alignment. (dot number: W270ifr428 tiresize: 245 75R 16)

Was driving with my daughter to my farmhouse in southeastern Kansas when my rear passenger side tire just blewout. There are several areas on the tire where the outer rubber appears to have worn off. Those areas are white in color. Also the drivers side rear tire is showing wear and there are white areas showing up on it also. These tires were not in the recall, but perhaps they should be. I was luckly going at a low rate of speed and no injuries occured and I was able to stop. I have contacted the dealer and am waiting for a reply from them. I look forward to hearing from you soon also. Thanks, trent bunn (dot number: W2uuipo468 tiresize: P255/70R15)

Heard about tires on tv. Checked tires, including the spare. Noticed that all 5 tires had slits or cracks around them, where tread met the casings. Consumer can pull the slit apart. Will be taking vehicle to tire retailer. Firestone wilderness ht P225/70R15 with 4,000 miles.

Tire blew out on trip, 8/99, tire seperated on interstate driving- truck towed to closest dealter by Ford roadside assist- dealer jones Ford, augusta, refused to honor any warranty, made us pay full price for a new tire, said it was not a tire problem. Truck was new/tire was original equipment on 6 month old truck. We lost a day of work waiting on them to locate a tire to replace it and then had to pay full price as they would not honor any warranty replacement. 2nd tire on vehicle to saparate front sidewall from entire tread of tire. First was back in August of 1999 before recall had begun. Have taken this last tire to 2 dealers and they are unable to determine what caused the tire to separate, but both have said it does not look like a punctured tire. Tires did not blow out, but just went flat. Sidewalls feel like they have just collapsed! authorized Firestone dealer said this is not a currently recalled tire. We think it should be. Driving to work at 6:00 am on main street in town at 40 miles an hr when I felt rear drivers side tire blow. Immendiately pulled off road and tread was completely pulled away from the tire. Put on spare tire and went on to work called local Firestone dealer at 8:00 to report incident, they told me to bring it in and they would look at it. When I arrived they checked it and said it was not on the recall list, so they could do nothing about it, they said I would have to purchase a new tire. I questioned them concerning the low mileage and the warrenty that would be on the tire itself, they said I could have hit something and damaged the tire myself therefore, they could not cover the tire under the warrenty. The problem I have with that is that I did not hit anything then or in the past and my rim was not damaged a all, which was very clear to them. When I returned to work I called firestones toll free # direct the cust service rep advised me that since it was not on the recall list they could not do anything at this time, but in future if it did come on the recall list if I kept my tire and receipt they would refund my tire and money. I expressed my concern that I am still driving on the same tires, I was very surprised that I was not shown any concern in regards to this and was told to wait until it showed up on the recall list, I asked her how this got on the recall list she told me to contact this address. She said they do not investigate this, that the NHTSA would take care of it. All I want is for someone to look at my tires and assure me that they are safe and also refund my money considering the low milage that was on a 4 wheel drive truck that is suppose to have heavy duty tires.. This size of Firestone tire came on my new 1999 Ford Ranger when I purchased it on 8/14/99. While they have not appeared yet on any offical recall notice, I fear driving any great distance beacause of possible manufacturer's defects. I want Ford Motor Company, and Firestone to pay to replace these. (dot number: W2uuip0229 tiresize: P225/70R15)
