I purchased a car a month ago, right after I filled all paperwork out and was to take delivery the airbag light went off. They sent car to a Ford dealer 2 weeks later and said the part needed is on backorder until 12/14. (I am making payments and insurance on car) they gave me a part number of dr3Z1ha005hc and carmax is telling me now the Ford dealer is giving them a hard time. I have searched this part thru Ford and there isn't one. It's supposed to be a drivers seat airbag harness that has sensors on it. What am I supposed to do as a consumer? I want this car! I need this car! I'm paying for this car! everyone is being unhelpful!

I purchased this 2014 Mustang 11/15/2018, after doing the paperwork and before I took delivery the airbag light came on. I was told it's a sensor in drivers seat and would be a couple days. Then after that I was told it needed to go into a Ford dealer to be fixed on 11/28/2018. On this date I was told that it needs a harness for the driver seat airbag and that no dealer has the part and Ford hasn't manufactured any. After multiple calls I was able to get a rental, now I'm afraid that I'm not going to get my car that is registered and insured and I have been told thru a Ford dealer known by my family that it's backordered until 3/4/2019. What am I supposed to do? I'm going to make payments on a car I own but can't drive and I'm worried the rental will get pulled from me when they find out how long it will take to fix my car. Big issue is there is not another Mustang like it for sale anywhere!!

"takata recall" I received notice of a recall regarding dangerous takata airbags July 2015. I called Ford dealerships at least three times from July 2015 to 2016 asking if the airbags could be repaired or replaced at their dealership. Each time I called I was told parts were not available to do fix the problem. I received a letter in April 2017 (yet dated May 2016) regarding safety recall 15S21 stating the newly designed airbag module would be available in the fourth quarter of that year (2016) and that Ford Motor Company would notify me when the airbag parts would be available.. I have not heard from Ford Motor Company since that time, , I am very concerned about the dangerous airbags on my Ford Mustang. What recourse do I have regarding having the airbag problem resolved so I can drive my car with some assurance I( or my passengers) would not be killed or injured in the event airbags are deployed. Driving this vehicle knowing the danger is like driving with a bomb not knowing if or when I or my passengers might be killed.

Takata recall - we have received numerous letters, postcard and emails about the airbag recall and we have tried, unsuccessfully numerous times to set up a date and time for the airbag replacement with our dealership. I have called the dealership and spoke to several people telling the issues repeatedly to each person I spoke to. I was transferred to the service manager I was told whom did not answer and I left a very detailed message regarding the reason for my call, the specifics of the car and multiple ways to contact myself or my fiance. I have had to call several more times die to not receiving any return call from anyone at the dealership for over a month. I have looked to see if I could schedule and appointment online and they do not have that option available. Therefore I have had to take time away from other obligations to go to the dealership to complain to attempt to have this remedied. Initially they were receptive and now four days later they have reverted back to failing to return my phone calls. I have also been experiencing issues with corrosion on the battery and the battery wire cables since I purchased the car. Despite making the dealership aware of this they have failed to take any steps to even determine the issue. Additionally, my security system on my car was apparently bypassed by thieves and I have talked to the top boss of this dealership and he has informed me that the security system is in fact disabled and that without them running a diagnostics test on the car they cannot determine to what extent the security system is damaged, if it is reparable, or if there may be more significant damage to the computer / electrical system. My security system has been non-functional for a month at this point and I cannot get the dealership to simply return my call to remedy this.

Lack of response from the kistler Ford dealership (5555 w. central ave. Toledo, oh 43615) to remedy the takata air bag recall. For over a year I have been on a waiting list for parts availability to conduct the repair... in fact, my name was taken off the original waiting list for some reason; it was put back on the list a few months ago when I visited the dealership and inquired about the status of the parts/repair. It was only after I again visited the dealership earlier today that someone in their parts department acknowledged that parts were, in fact, available and that they would conduct my repair tomorrow, 7/17/2018. I also found it disturbing that with parts in inventory, I was told that my name was number seven on their waiting list... apparently there are six people in front of me waiting for the same repair. I guess I should be grateful that I am being given preferential treatment and jumping ahead of the others who are also "waiting for parts" to conduct this repair. I also find it ironic that I have been receiving repeated face book notices from Ford implying that I am being negligent in not getting this airbag repair done... I have replied to their E-mails explaining that the "ball is in their court" waiting for parts... thought you might want to know about the apparent communication breakdown in the recall process between Ford corporate and their dealers who appear not to be taking this issue very seriously.

I am complaining about the recall for my airbags in my Ford Mustang, we have been trying to get a hold of someone to schedule when we can get them replaced and fixed. We have left voicemails to have them call us back but have failed to do so. This has taken way to long for my air bags to be replaced than it should have.

Takata recall - in May 2015, my client received a NHTSA recall 15V319 for the airbag and brought her vehicle to a local Ford dealership to comply with the recall notice. At that time, she was advised that the replacement airbag wasn't available and they did not have a time as to when it would be available. On August 22, 2016, my client was driving her 2014 Ford Mustang when she rear-ended a vehicle. Upon impact, the airbag deployed and caused painful lacerations, abrasions and burns related to the inflator's exploding metal fragments. My client took her vehicle to the local Ford dealership for repairs and was told that the airbag was still not available and her vehicle could not be repaired. The local Ford dealership did not offer her alternate vehicle transportation. She had to purchase another vehicle and continue paying on the Mustang enduring 2 car payments and insurance. Her vehicle was repaired in March, 2017.

Takata recall - this 2014 Mustang has approximately 22700 miles and has been subject to the takata airbag recall for approximately two years. Though Ford has notified me that airbags are available, I cannot get a dealer (I've been to two) to install the airbag. Additionally, the car has an electrical fault in the engine management system that has been noted since the car had 5000 miles on it. Despite more than five trips to the dealer and more than 28 days in the shop, the car is still unrepaired. The Ford engineer's latest speculation as to the cause is a software problem, which he acknowledged could affect all systems, including brakes, throttle control, lighting, and the airbags to name a few. BBB's autoline arbitrator agreed that the car is unsafe to drive and ordered Ford to repurchase the vehicle. However, Ford did not do so within the allotted time due to frivolous document requests that delayed the process, and their refusal to inspect the car on site or pick the car up with a wrecker at a reasonable time. They insisted that I drive the car, which I now refuse to do so. There are other documents available, these are the primary documents related to the claim.

Takata recall- I was in a car accident in which another driver did an illegal uturn in front of me and I T-boned them. The bulk of the damage was on the passenger side. The drivers side airbag deployed with such intensity that it broke my arm and dislocated my elbow. I accumulated of $160K in medical bills that I ultimately had to reimburse my health insurance company because the other drivers insurance was minimal. I did not receive a recall notice until months after the accident. I live in the South where the humidity is great and according to the class action it caused them to deploy with great pressure. I contacted the class action people and they said my VIN was not included in the recall and it clearly is.

I was told my car had a recall on the airbags when I was thinking of purchasing. I was told they would be replaced free of charge as soon as the parts came in. That was 2 years ago. Every time I go to have maintenance done I ask about this recall and when can I expect it to be done....hopefully before it kills me!!! I live in alpharetta, ga and the traffic is as bad as everyone says. Accidents happen all the time. I would hate that my death occurred because Ford didn't replace faulty parts.
