Recall. Told to not charge our Ford Fusion Rechargeable Hybrid for fear of a fire! No solution now for 6 months. Told to run gas engine only. Car was not designed to be used this way which is a safety hazard in itself. Filed for gas card 5 months ago, no gas card issued. My spouse is an active nurse and Christian community activist. She relies on this vehicle. If we do not have some action from Ford in another 30 days, we will be forced to file for an Arizona Lemon Law replacement.
Ford has still not provided a satisfactory fix for this recall. It has been 139 days since the recall was issued. Now Ford is putting a stop/hold on their initial recall fix and has instructed their dealers to return recall parts AND to put a stop sale on any vehicles in their inventory. This has resulted in a drastic depreciation of my vehicle. Not only does Ford not have a solution to the problem, but now they have left me with a car that is unsellable which is causing massive economic harm to me. Ford now says there is no interim fix (perhaps until LATE 2024) this is absurd. Ford should buy these vehicles back from all affected owners asap. Please compel Ford to do something about this and make things right!
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at 65 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power while driving uphill. The contact stated that the front of the vehicle had started shaking uncontrollably. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 45,411. The VIN was not available.
Coolant intrusion into cylinder bore. Which can cause a fire. I been submitting complaints and haven-??t heard anything back in regards to my complaint. This was a known issue with ford back then.

I only have 109,000 miles and I am needing a new engine. They are telling me that the cylinder wall is cracked and something about a blockage. I cannot afford to replace it. They are telling me it-??s a known issue with ford but there-??s no recall and that-??s why they discontinued the ford fusion.
My car started running weird, it would shake when at idle. It did this for about a week before the check engine light came on. I took my car to a mechanic and they determined the head gasket was bad. I took my car to a ford dealership for confirmation of the problem. They confirmed I had a bad head gasket. My safety is put at risk because this can cause engine failure. If my engine failed in the middle of the highway that would be extremely dangerous.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving approximately 30-35 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure recurred while driving. Additionally, the vehicle lunged forward but failed to respond upon depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the local Pep Boys, where the ignition coils #3 and #4 were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where ignition coil #4 was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The independent mechanic replaced spark plugs #1, #2 and #3. The number four spark plug was stuck and was not removed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the cylinder head needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 67,000

The contact owns a 2019 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer for a recommended maintenance inspection; however, the contact stated that upon the technician inspecting the vehicle, the contact was informed that the engine short block needed to be replaced due to coolant intrusion into the engine. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was out of warranty. The contact was informed to draft a letter for assistance. No further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 119,000.
Ford sent a safety recall notice 23S33 and poorly worded the "What should you do?" section. After calling for clarifications, Ford advised us not to fully charge the high voltage battery. There is no method to limit the charge level and not charging the batteries will damage them. Ford advised the only way to limit the battery charge level is to watch/monitor the vehicle as it charges, and disconnect the power cable prior to fully charging. Ford should provide one of two options without delay: The Ford app should be updated, providing users with the ability to limit the high voltage battery charge level or; Ford should provide its dealer service departments with instructions to program a lower maximum charge limit for the high voltage battery that is consistent with the recommendations from the Safety Recall. While Ford is working on a long-term remedy, and in light of the potential for fire, Ford should take immediate steps to assist its customers with temporary and reasonable options to limit the high voltage battery charge level.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that coolant was leaking into cylinder #2 and that the spark plug needed to be replaced along with the coil. The spark plugs and ignition coils were replaced but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken to the independent mechanic and the codes were reset but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic who stated that coolant was leaking into the cylinder causing the spark plug to misfire. The dealer was contacted and stated that there was a Customer Satisfaction Program issued but the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and a case was filed. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was 89,000.

The contact stated that the vehicle failed to exceed 5 MPH. The contact's daughter pulled into a parking lot. The contact stated that he used an OBD reader to determine that cylinder #2 was misfiring. The vehicle was taken to the Chevrolet dealer where it was purchased, and was diagnosed with coolant intrusion into the engine, causing cylinder #2 to misfire. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to a Ford dealer, where the diagnostic result was confirmed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not covered under Ford Campaign Number: 21N12. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 84,717.

The contact's friend used an ODB code reader and determined that there was a misfire in cylinder #3. The ignition coils were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The contact also discovered that the coolant level remained low. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer for a diagnostic test where it was determined that coolant had leaked into cylinder #3 and that the long block needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired due to parts being on backorder. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000.

Coolant Intrusion. Coolant is leaking into the head gasket, causing car to say coolant running hot. Also causes car to lose speed. There was a recall for this same model, a month before my model was built, but clearly the problem was never fixed.
