The car reads as a 4th cylinder misfire but it's not. The coil has been replaced twice and the spark plugs have been replaced twice also. Went back to Ford after spending all this money to tell me there is a leak going into my engine form my coolant. Now I have to get a new whole engine and I only have the car for about 3-4 years. This is about a $5,000-$6,000 fix. After researching, this should be a recall due to the amount of similar cases there has been. When driving, the light would come on and off when it wants and it sometimes would bolt forward this is due to the leak to the engine. I've had to had it towed once because it was starting to give up. This is when I took it to Ford to misdiagnose me that it was the spark plugs when it was not. This is unsafe to drive and an outrageous price to pay.

Car has 60K miles. Losing coolant no leak. Didn't start one day. Firestone couldn't find the problem. Had my car towed to baytown Ford. After a week and a $800 authorization to open the engine only. Next day I was told I need a new engine. $6K. My question was what caused the engine failure, and how can I be sure the new engine wont have the same problem. My oil changes are regular. Mobil 1 oil and filter. I was told the sludge in my engine was because I had a aftermarket oil filter not a motorcraft filter. Not in writing. I knew better and after some research I found a plethora if other owners has had the exact same problem. My car is my key to providing for my family and I dont have $6K for a manufacturer defect. Car has also cut off while my wife was driving but cranked immediately.

Several weeks ago I was driving my car and I noticed I didnt have any heat and my coolant temp high light came on. So when I checked the coolant I didnt have any at all. None of my hoses were leaking from anywhere. I added coolant to it and didnt think nothing of it. Today on my way to work the same thing happened. My coolant temp high light came on and when I pulled over I didnt have any coolant whatsoever. The coolant has got to be going somewhere in the engine because there is no signs of it leaking from the radiator or any of its hoses.

A situation that I encountered with my 2016 Fusion when it had 55K miles on it was that the vehicle would have a rough idle on startups and would have a rough idle when it was stopped (ex. On a stop sign, red light, parked, etc.). it did have a check engine light on when these issues occurred and so I took it to a shop to get the codes checked out and it described having a misfire on cylinder two. The shop recommended me to take it to the Ford dealer for a more thorough inspection. I made an appointment to visit the shop a couple of days after but in between those days I noticed thick white smoke coming from the exhaust. The rough idling still persisted and I took it immediately to the Ford dealer. After talking with the staff about my issue, they ran a diagnostics to find out coolant was leaking into the cylinders and causing the rough idle and the white smoke. I did get the engine block replaced but what's not to say that this issue can occur again. Another thing I noticed when this issue occurred was when you tried to accelerate the vehicle, it would accelerate seconds after you pushed on the pedal. This was very dangerous for me at times and I felt insecure driving this vehicle. I know many other Fusion owners have encountered similar situations and it seems irresponsible for Ford to ignore this and pretend that everything is fine.

Started to lose coolant, couldnt see anywhere that it was leaking, or any signs of leaking. Refilled the coolant resvoir. Drove to work the next day, and when I got off of work I tried to start the car and it wouldnt fire. Once it was moved all of the oil had been laying on the ground where the car was parked. Done alot of research and found out that the cylinder heads are junk and was loosing coolant in to the cylinder. So now im stuck with a $200 a month payment for something that happened that has happening to thousands of care with the 1.5L eco boost turbo... and there still is recall"?" the car doesn't have 130,000 miles yet.

My vehicles check engine light came on and immediately after the light appeared the car began to lose power, become sluggish and slow to accelerate. The vehicle had to be stopped on the expressway and towed to a repair shop (delkers automotive 12198 lewis ave, temperance, mi 48182) who looked at the vehicle and explained to me that there was leaking engine coolant into the cylinder that caused the engine to overheat and crack. There was complete engine failure and I would need a new engine at 73,000 miles. I had the vehicle towed to brondes Ford at 5545 secor road toledo, oh on August 28th. Brondes Ford verified what delker's automotive had found, the coolent leak into the cylinder that caused the engine to crack. Brondes Ford told me that this is a known issue and that I should try to file a claim with Ford to recoup some of the cost of a new engine as I was outside of the warranty, at 73K miles. I was told by Ford when calling in to make a claim that they would not assist me with any kind of monetary help, even though the issue is a known issue, because there is no current recall. I have now been without a vehicle for two months as I do not have the $8000 to replace the engine, and have received no help from Ford. It is unacceptable that this issue is a known issue and nothing is getting done about it. There was a previous safety recall that addresses the engine issue on safety recall # 17S09 for the Ford Fusion 2013-2014 models, and the fact that the issue is still happening in later models shows the issue was not corrected by Ford, and is honestly appalling that they can get away with it.

In June of 2020 a check engine light popped up on my dashboard; therefore, I took my car into the dealership to be diagnosed. They ultimately uncovered that there was a known engine defect with my 2.0 L 4 cylinder engine due to a coolant leak. Unfortunately, my vehicle is within 2 months outside of the current safety recall. There is an active recall on all of the 1.5 L that covers 2014 through 2019; however, the range on my 2016 2.0 L Fusion begins in 2017. I reached out to Ford and they indicated that even though I am within 1.5-2 months outside of the recall they cannot assist me with financing my over $7,000 required engine replacement and I am quite disappointed that the recall has not been extended yet. Further, I am writing this as of 11/1 and it has been nearly 5 months since I dropped my car off at the Ford dealership and they indicated that they have no idea when they will be able to fix my engine as there are over 8,000 other re-manufactured engines on back-order due to similar issues. The coolant leak issue is an incredibly serious issue as it could cause my engine to stall out on the high-way or city streets. I have seen countless other people reporting the same problem, and I hope that our voices will soon be heard so that we can receive appropriate compensation from the manufacturer for their poor design and build. For reference on the two existing engine recalls noted above, please refer to the Ford technical service bulletins 19-2346 and 19-2139. Thank you

There is a coolant leak in cylinder 2. of my 2L ecoboost requiring a complete long block replacement. This can cause the car to overheat and/or run unreliably. I have had to pull over on the side of a busy highway to add coolant. This will no doubt leave me stranded one day soon, as this is a known problem for many of Ford's ecoboost engines yet they have not recalled these faulty engines. And I can not afford an $8,000 repair there is a Ford technical service bulletin 19-2346 date of issue december19 2019

Could not turned the sterring wheel at all to back out of garage. Battery is 1year old should not be low.

My 2016 Ford Fusion 1.5L eco boost engine with 62,000 miles is currently in the shop needing a new engine. One day I was driving on the highway and all of a sudden my car starts shaking when accelerating and loss of power to the wheels. Since I was on a highway I tried to get to the nearest repair facility, but after 3 miles my car was not drivable as the check engine light started flashing and my car had no power from the engine. The repair facility advised I have coolant in my cylinders due to designed flaw from Ford, Ford's factory bulletin 19-2139 dated Nov 21, 2019 advises to replace engine. Spoke with Ford customer relations representative and supervisor and they will not help since the power train warranty is 2,000 miles over. My extended warranty will not cover cost of repair due to Ford factory bulletin regarding this issue. Ford recalled the 2017 Ford escapes for the same issue but now I am facing a $7,000 engine replacement or $14,000 negative equity if I trade in. I need help

Engine temp nears red but doesn't overheat. Some white smoke cold starting. I told dealer about this but since it only was during cold start it wouldn't replicate. Warranty lapsed. Overheating more often so I took it to dealer. Declined due expiration of warrantee. Recently engine overheated and started to shut down on a freeway in traffic. Slowing vehicles in traffic are dangerous. Engine light codes read misfire cylinder 2. the car is family's only source of transportation. We cant afford to purchase a new engine from Ford and Ford cant guarantee a new motor wont repeat these issues. Our local dealer duped us by not acknowledging that many other owners have had similar problems. Worried that this car will leave me stranded in the heat, bankrupt us, or be the cause of an accident.

The antifreeze is leaking into the cylinders, fouling out the spark plug causing the engine to miss fire. With this happening, it's using antifreeze burning it out the exhaust pipe, which causes the engine to overheat. Please look into this, I heard it can blow the engine and it's expensive to replace

My check engine light came on when I started my car to go to work one morning. I got my code reader and plugged it in, it showed P0301 and P0304 ( generic code for misfire on cylinders 1 and 4). I figured I had bad spark plugs or ignition coils so I replaced them with all new parts. Drove the car for about two days and the check engine light returned again when starting my car. Plugged the code reader back in, same code readings. My car is still under an extended warranty plan so I took it to a repair shop. They ran a diagnostic test and found the same codes. After a couple of hours, they informed me that they were going to replace the fuel sensors because they believed that was the problem. They replaced the sensors and cleared the check engine light and I was on my way. A few days later the check engine light came back on when I started my car. I contacted the repair shop again and they told me to bring it back in. I dropped the car off to them for 5 days. When they called me back they said they were unable to determine the cause and I should take it to the dealership. Took the car to the dealership and they informed me that I need to replace the engine because I have a cracked cylinder that is leaking coolant into the engine. The warranty company is trying to deny my claim, stating that the engine overheated due to improper maintenance. I change my own oil and I change it well before the manufacturer's recommendation. I follow all the specifications and use premium products so I know that it is not from improper maintenance. After doing some research I found that this seems like a common problem among these engine types and I have even found a few websites where people are trying to start a class action lawsuit. This entire experience/process has been a giant headache. Hopefully there is a resolution in the near future.
