Fuel system loses pressure sometimes and the car cuts off completely, sometimes at high speeds. This is very dangerous because of loss of power steering and brakes. That transmission also shifts erratically sometimes which is also dangerous because if I need to accelerate to avoid an accident, it wont shift correctly and makes it more difficult to do so.

  • 80,350 miles

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

The affected vehicle is a 2015 Ford Fusion energi with 80,350 miles. VIN: 3fa6P0su1fr I purchased the vehicle from keller Ford in hanford California on 11jan2021, at 79,902 miles. On my way to work while on the highway, symptoms started with a high pitch noise, followed by, a burning smell, motor over temp warning, and finally a complete loss of power and a "pull over safely" warning. I had my car towed to the dealership the following morning to be worked on, where they found the transmission assembly to be the affected issue. The transmission had been replaced sometime last year prior to my ownership, which was undisclosed to me at the time of purchase, so this is now the seccond time this car has had an issue with the ecvt assembly. (part number hm5Z-7000-arm). The original repair was a complete transmission replacement, but this time, Ford is looking at having the dealership rebuild the transmission. I have not been able to find many other issues with this transmission, aside for two tsbs. 20-2219 and 19-2391. The hybrid electrical system, which includes the ecvt, is warranted by Ford up to 8 years or 100,000 miles

The rpms rev and shifting hesitates. Was at a stop light, went to drive off from light and it stalled in intersection as it was stuck in gear and finally went into gear. It slow, hard shifts at usual times. The stalling happens out of the blue. I do not go far because I don't want to have an accident from it stalling in gear! I've put so much money on tranny work, this is ridiculous to not have a safe vehicle and have to worry about being stranded.

The contact owns 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle loss motive power while depressing the accelerator pedal. The RPM was redlined. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was shifted to park however, the instrument panel indicated that hill start assist was not available. In addition, the rear lights remained illuminated without depressing the brake pedal. The contact disconnected the battery for the rear lights to turn off. The contact had a certified mechanic to look at the vehicle and was informed that the throttle body surged causing the failure. The contact called tallahassee Ford (243 N magnolia dr, tallahassee, fl 32301) and was informed that the vehicle was not included in the manufacturer field service action: 13N03 (throttle body extended coverage). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed. The failure mileage was approximately 128,000.

I sending this massage because I have 2015 Ford Fusion SE. My issue is when I put my car on drive mode every time I go out in to town. When I'm about to make a stop and when I take off the transmission seems to jump back and for almost like is trying to get a good shift or like is trying to look for fisrt gear. I don't know if Ford is aware of this situation, but its getting kinda annoying that the transmission is doing that or if is failing. I don't know what could it be maybe it just needs a software update or maybe the transmission is about to go out. Hopefully someone read this or maybe through this website the complaint gets to Ford and due something about it or at least fix the problem. I don't know how many people out there are experiencing the same problem as me, but if we all come together maybe Ford could do a recall or fix the problem on this transmissions before mine goes out and I have to pay for it.

I drove to work no problems and parked my 2015 Fusion 2.0 ecoboost. When I left work I started the car and a billow of white smoke rolled out from the exhaust when I pulled out of my parking spot. It quickly dissipated so I drove down the road a few miles. I then got an overheating warning on the dash followed by a P1299 code. When I parked the car it was idling rough so I turned it off. I let it cool down and noticed the coolant reservoir was low so I filled it up and started the car, it idled just fine, at first, with little smoke then after a few moments it started idling really rough. It sucked the coolant reservoir dry so I filled it up again and went inside. When I looked at it half an hour later the coolant reservoir was empty yet again. I then noticed a huge puddle under my car with it dripping from the muffler in the middle. I don't know the problem. I only have 68K miles.

Coolant located in cylinder 3. case started with Ford Motor Co. Vehicle taken to Ford dealership where it was orginally purchased. After adding dye to the coolant they verified the cylinder #3 leak. They reccomend an engine replacement - $6550.20. They offered to buy vehicle from us for $1500. Oh, and I should mention that the vehicle was officially paid off one week before the check engine light came on and this all started. See attached invoice from February 2020

On 10/7/2019 I brought my car in to fort mill Ford (SC) for a tire change and regular service. When I came to pick it up on 10/10/2019, the car would not start. Upon advising my tech brittany of the issue, they sent out a tech to jump start the car that was just serviced. When the car was jump started, an engine light appeared on the dashboard. The vehicle was at 62000 miles. I went back to my adviser brittany again and she stated that the engine light is nothing to worry about and that Ford activates those when seasons change and is part of their software. She insisted that everything was ok with the car and referenced the inspection list I was given for my 2015 Ford Fusion SE. Not three weeks later, the engine light went from being constantly on, to flashing. This also caused an intense white smoke from the exhaust and a strong gas presence in the vehicle. While I was driving to work, the engine light started flashing and the car started jerking on I-77 highway. I took the car back to fort mill Ford on 11/18/2019 for inspection. The next day, brittany called me and said they found an issue with my spark-plug and that it might cost anywhere from $200 to $6000 to repair it. Since the issue was not caused by me I was not going to take responsibility for the charges and after weeks of ignoring me, Ford Motor Company (office of elena Ford) decided to get involved. However, the cause went from spark-plugs to coolants then cylinders and I was never given a specific cause. I did not have my car for over 60 days because all parts were on back order. I got my car back on 1/21/2020 and it is still showing issues with acceleration. Out of 91 NHTSA complaints on engine issues, over 31 have these same symptoms. Please see attached documents detailing this issue. This form does not offer enough space for relevant information and I was not able to upload the last email thread.

My sisters vehicle has started rolling down her driveway and she got back in the car and seen that there is a transmission not in park message and we found that the gear selector cable has broke off the gear selector lever. It is not safe for my sister to drive this vehicle. It's a driving hazard. I have found a recall from 2014 about potential vehicle rollaway for her vehicle but it's not open on her vehicle anymore. She had this problem before and took it into the dealership to get this fixed and it happens again

The contact stated that the failure occurred once with the shift cable being fractured. The vehicle was repaired per a warranty program at long-lewis Ford Lincoln Volkswagen Mitsubishi (2800 woodward ave, muscle shoals, al 35661, (256) 386-7800) in September of 2017. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign numbers: 18V471000 (power train) or 19V362000 (power train). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 122,500.

Brought car in for service due to check engine light and battery not charging. Replaced battery, but check engine light remained on. Again, went to get get diagnostic, resulted in needing catalytic converter. Picked up car and check engine light came back on. Returned to service next day. Diagnostic showed coolant leaked into the engine and head gasket needing replacing. The result is needing a new motor. This issue seems similar to NHTSA campaign number: 17V209000. My issue seems to be related to this recall on the 2013 and 2014 Fusion. Ford is provided $3,000 for the repair due to me being over 600 miles over power train. My concern is the recall to the 13 and 14 Fusion could be broader than those years.
