CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Fusion doesn’t have the same track record of power steering failure as the previous 3 model years. Of course, those owners said their steering failed at 60k–100k miles. So this appears to be a classic "wait and see" scenario.

In the meantime, there’s plenty of interior accessory problems to complain about. By themselves, each is a barely a blip on the radar. But combined, they give you that feeling of what the hell have I gotten myself into?

Takata recall I was driving my car a couple months ago and all of a sudden it stopped allowing me to push the gas to drive and the heat indicator told me it was overheating without giving me warning. I took it to the dealership they said it East a recall and I paid close to 400 for them to fix and then a recall letter came out advising to watch coolant levels for overheating etc. While driving the other day 09/01/2017 my car did the same thing and was showing it was overheating without warning and now they are telling me again that I have to pay for the issue out of pocket which is unfair since the recall is not something I have control over. I just want it fixed replaced or a refund for the purchase price of my car minus the depreciation. Please help me get this figured out. If any additional information is needed from me please let me know. I should have the receipt of when I paid originally but it's in the car at the dealership.

On Feb. 10, 2016, defective door latches on my 2013 Ford Fusion hybrid were replaced at walker Ford/clearwater, fl due to a recall notice. On Aug. 24, 2017, the door latch on the front passenger door failed. The same dealer replaced the failed latch on Aug. 26, 2017. I was told that because the replacement part is not under recall and is outside the 12 month warranty that I am responsible for replacement and repair costs. When I stated that I would report the failed latch to the NHTSA given the various recalls due to Ford door latch defects, the service manager said he would check with his manager about waiving the cost of repairs and has not yet charged me. Only the one door latch was replaced. I am concerned that the replacement parts used to remedy the prior recall are also defective. The door latch failed while the vehicle was stationary away from home, while I was running errands.

I was driving my car at 35mph when the tire pressure monitor fault light suddenly came on, I thought I would have deflated or struck a tire, just park my car thinking that the next day I would fix it, but it turned out there was not tire deflated and the next morning was not only that problem but also none of the controls (fobs) to open my car worked, I went to where I bought the tires to be inspected and I checked the sensors, but everything was fine and they advised me to go to the Ford dealer, where they quoted me almost 2 weeks after the incident, the dealer took 2 days to deliver my car because they forgot to talk to me. Once I went by my car they told me the result of the diagnosis and that the problem was there was no communication between the BCM and the rtm; BCM is the part where the fuses are and the rtm is the radio transmitter module, and what I have to buy is the rtm which would cost $ $945.83, I want to clarify that with my radio I have no problem so I I told the person who was there... why if it was not a problem for lack of maintenance of my part and I do not have problems with my radio or my tires or sensors, because I have to pay as much money for something that is internal and for a car with less than 5 years of existence... this person only told me that for that you should buy more guarantee but I feel it is unfair because I am still paying the car, and not for lack of maintenance on my part and are pieces that maybe they use of poor quality.. I hope they help me or advise me then nor the alarm of my car can activate, anyway I will fix it but I feel that it is a lot of money that I should not pay. And at the beginning I am already paying for the diagnosis and its bad service

On April 23 of this year a coolant over temperature sensor keeps coming on shutting down my vehicle I've had it to four different dealerships and a reputable garage trying to fix the issue. They cannot find out why I'm losing coolant or where the problem is coming from and why my car is getting overheated and over temperature. I have spent $2000 in parts and towing and labor and the problem still is not fixed Ford is insisting that it's not the recall that is out with the coolant system at this time and is trying to get me to put a new engine in the vehicle when they're not even sure what the problem is and if that will even fix it. I can't drive the car more than 30 minutes and the temperature starts to rise iand shuts my car down..I have filed 2 cases with Ford and they have done nothing to help me.

Vehicle was parked (out of town weekend) when starting up to go home it totally shut down, light came stating something about coolant temperature and I had no power what so ever. Got towed to Ford, only had vehicle since Feb. 2017, saudered and reconnected some wiring that they said was chewed by some critter, I.e. mouse. $360. Later. After doing my own research I see wiring is being being covered in some soy coating and seats are made with other products that can lure critters. I don't understand and feel why should I pay that out of pocket.

Passenger side sun visor dropped straight down and will not stay up. I cannot see through it so it blocks visibility to my right unless I use a hand to hold it up. This happened while driving the West Virginia turnpike (although I doubt that had anything to do with the malfunction) and swung it down to keep sun out of my eyes. Never stayed up since.

The ignition turned off while I was driving around in a parking lot. The key can pop out or be tucked in when you press a button, like a pocket knife. While I was driving, the key didn't hold it's place, then dropped and was dangling instead of fixed and locked. When the key dropped down the ignition switch turned off, then I got a message on the screen which said that the vehicle was not in park. That message comes on if you attempt to turn the car off without the vehicle being in park.

2013 Ford Fusion engine acceleration while driving. I was driving on the freeway at 65 mph with my husband and son. All of a sudden the car accelerated and would not stop. I pumped the breaks, when I realized that was not working I put my foot on the break all the way. The car finally started to slow down but would not completely and the engine was still in acceleration. When I was able to slow it down to a safe enough speed, I put the car in park and turned the engine off. We were able to get it to a dealership 2 miles away where it has been there since. The dealership is great, its Ford corporate that is the problem. This is a major safety recall that needs action right away. We have been without a car for over 2 weeks. The dealership and Ford corporate stated they have not seen anything like this. Ford corporate has walked through steps with the technicians to try and fix the issue. They have replaced many parts and failed at every attempt. They still do not know what is wrong and refuse to accommodate us in any way. I cant even get a return call from Ford corporate. Time for a lawyer. This is a major safety issue and needs to be addressed before someone loses their life driving this car.

We were driving down the highway 2 hours from home and I had a warning light come on, engine coolant temptress overheated. So me and my husband pulled over on the side of the road everything looked fine, we had coolant.we sat for about 10 mins to be safe. And proceeded down the highway. After 2 mins we had another warning light come on steering system failure. At this point he couldn't move the wheel so we pulled over again and as soon as we stopped black smoke came in the vents and up the windshield. As we open our doors there is flames coming in the door on the front passenger side we quickly evacuated the vehicle and called 911.

My husband was driving his Ford Fusion into the driveway of our home when the passenger car side door opened. Since then passenger side door will not close properly. I researched this a bit and found that there have been a large amount of recalls on the doors becoming unlatched while driving for this 2013 Ford Fusion but when I spoke with the Ford dealership they said that my vehicle was not covered under the recall.

On local road, vehichle hesitates when I step on the gas. When I get to a stop light it shudders then stalls. This occurs frequently for the past two weeks as of this entry date.my vehicle has under 53K miles and the dealer says the part and fix is not under warranty. Its called a lo pressure gas sensor I believe. If its attached to the gas tank then how could it not be under warranty with under 60K miles standard coverage.is this standard for all dealerships with warranty coverage or lack there of for this part.

Shifter cable went bad at 78000 miles. The car would not go down in gear. Every time you go back it would stay in that gear and never go back to park. It got stuck in the sport gear and never able to go to neutral, drive nor park. The dealership said that the cable from the shifter to the transmission was bad. This part cost $512 to fix at the dealership.
