CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Fusion doesn’t have the same track record of power steering failure as the previous 3 model years. Of course, those owners said their steering failed at 60k–100k miles. So this appears to be a classic "wait and see" scenario.

In the meantime, there’s plenty of interior accessory problems to complain about. By themselves, each is a barely a blip on the radar. But combined, they give you that feeling of what the hell have I gotten myself into?

Car has been overheating- took car to autonation Ford in St.petersburg, fl. Car had open recall from 2017 for sensor and was told that hose was bad- this took place not even a month ago and now the car is overheating again. I know this is an ongoing problem with Ford Fusion and known issues for Ford. We purchase the car last year from Toyota autonation. I have attempted to rectify that problem, but Ford continue to charge for problem.

In moderate temperatures, ~40-60 degrees F, the engine will stall just after starting to drive. So in the spring and the fall. It does not occur in the winter or the summer. It usually occurs after the car has been warmed up and driven and then turned off for a while. For instance, if I drive out to lunch, stop and eat, and then start driving again. Just after I start moving, say 100 ft., the engine starts running rough and nothing I do will stop it from dying. Usually it starts right up and and then it never happens again that drive cycle. Only once has it occurred twice in a row. No "check engine light" or codes. Had it checked by a mechanic. They changed the fuel pressure regulator, but it did not fix the issue. Started occurring in the spring of 2018.

Hello, on 03/14/2019 I chatted Ford on my numerous recalls on my 2013 Ford Fusion. I was given case# (xxxxx) and told to take to a Ford dealership for assessment on prior recall repairs. In 2017 we had a coolant recall and was told by dave littleton Ford in smithville, mo. That we had anti-freeze all over our engine and they had to replace the whole engine. We never had any problems or signs that it had a coolant problem" we took in because we got the recall notice. My car has never ran right since. It idles fast etc. In December our flex plate cracked, now 3 months later it cracked again. Our mechanic says the engine does not appear to have been lined up correctly with the transmission and we will continue to have issues because of the shotty mechanical work done by dave littleton Ford. We have taken to gary crossley Ford in kc, mo. They also agree there is shotty mechanical work done to the engine repair due to recall? we have been 2 weeks with no word on how this issue is going to be resolved and are without a car? I need some answers? the engine was not aligned correctly and sealant was put in places it should not have been when replaced. I am no mechanic but they have submitted in the claim they are sending in with greater detail candice says:the reason I am asking these questions is because we are not able to view claims entered by the dealer. I want to understand what it is that they were waiting for. So, they can complete the repair, they are just waiting for Ford to say it can be done under the recall, is that correct? amy says: Yes if I was not sold a car with a faulty part I would not have had coolant all over my engine to have to be replaced. If an appointed Ford mechanic had correctly replaced engine I would not be in this situation" Ford continues to close claims and ignore issues! case#(xxxxx) parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The vehicle has an electrical glitch and when attempting to park the car it will show as park but will actually slip into neutral and roll forward or back if in a slight hill. Also an manufacturing error is causing the car to abruptly stop while on driving. The rpms will increase by itself and then suddenly fall to 0 and the car will not be able to move. All the electrical components will still be on I.e. radio, heat, lights but the car will not move. It's no warning as to when it will just suddenly stop so it's extremely unsafe if driving on a highway.

On January 3rd 2019 around 5am, I saw a signal saying "engine coolant over temperature" and another one regarding the steering wheel. I then noticed that my steering wheel was locked but I managed to park on the side of the highway. A vehicle behind me notified me that there was a fire. My vehicle caught on fire less than 24 hours after leaving Ford service department for an oil change. Records also show that my vehicle was part of a recall regarding the engine coolant, that may lead to fire. I received that recall letter days after my car broke down due to an engine coolant related issue and towed my vehicle to the nearest repair shop in 2017. After reception of that recall letter, I also made sure to take my vehicle to Ford services, with the invoice of the repair that had just been done. They took my car to their shop and reassured me that the recall issue was resolved by the recent repair and filed for a reimbursement check from Ford, that I have received. As of today, when I put my VIN number to verify the recall, it says "incomplete". I filed a claim through Ford on January 4th 2019, a day after the fire and has yet to hear from them.
