CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Fusion doesn’t have the same track record of power steering failure as the previous 3 model years. Of course, those owners said their steering failed at 60k–100k miles. So this appears to be a classic "wait and see" scenario.

In the meantime, there’s plenty of interior accessory problems to complain about. By themselves, each is a barely a blip on the radar. But combined, they give you that feeling of what the hell have I gotten myself into?

(takata recall) I hereby state that I was in a motor vehicle accident with this vehicle with no fault of my own. At the time of the accident 03/15/2014 this vehicle should have been totaled out but was not done so.the airbags did not deploy with the way and the impact that I was hit by other party. I than took this vehicle numerous of times to hasting Ford in greenville nc where they was suppose to have researched and properly checked and fixed everything detailed. I am yet to this day still having problems with this vehicle shifting gears caused by accident, body is coming apart, camara is not working and I am still suffering from the bodily injuries of my hip being shifted from accident. I am seeking legal attorneys at this time due to I feel that Ford could have taken better care and replaced this vehicle knowingly that this vehicle is not safe to me the custom. At this point I do feel that Ford should be responsible for any suffering and vehicle experience that I am enduring at this time. I would like to say thank you for your moral support. I was traveling down the main highway when another vehicle came from a side road driving 60 mph without breaking speed crashing into my 2013 Ford Fusion.the accident occurred in wake county nc. Around 12:45 P.M.

This is the 6th time I am taking my vehicle in. The first 5 times were for transmission issues. They found "trash" in my transmission and had to take it apart. That happened about 1 month ago. I now have a serious fuel leak. I purchased extended warranty, however, I am concerned that this vehicle is not safe to drive. I purchased this vehicle brand new and have had nothing but serious problems with it. I am concerned for the safety of myself and my kids. I do not even want my children in this car anymore. Are there any solutions to my situation?

The transmissions shutters at all speeds. The car stalls on red lights. The car stalls going around curves. The car stalls going both up and down hills. Ford put out and "extended warrant" but does not have the parts to fix the problem. We have talked to two different dealers and a regional manager for Ford, but nothing is getting done.

I was driving sw bound on hwy 20 in loganville, ga when my car surged and powered off at 50 mph 'the vehicle turned off on a very busy road. I just bought this car last year. This is the second time this has happened this first time it happened Ford replaced my entire steering column. I had zero steering capability, the engine was off and unresponsive and all of my electronic panels went dark except for a message saying "transmission is not in park" and the engine warning light (yellow) came on. I was able to hit the hazard lights and barely inch to the right side on the highway. There was a truck behind me that had to make an evasive lange change maneuver to the left in order to avoid collision. Once I came to a stop I immediately turned my video camera on my phone and started documenting what was happening in the vehicle. I have this video readily available for you if you need it to further your investigation.

I rented a 2013 Fusion to take my son back to college. On the way home I heard a noise under the car, I pulled into a parking lot placed the car in park but left it running. As I was bent down looking beneath the car it went into reverse and started accelerating backward. My daughter who was with me had the passenger door open talking to me and when the car started to back up the door knocked me over and dragged me beneath it for approximately 4-6 feet before she could get the car to stop. I had several bruises on my right side along with bruised ribs where the door got stuck on them when it dragged me. I also injured my left elbow when I fell to the ground which hurt for several months and I could not put any kind of pressure on it for that time. I reported the incident to the rental company and Ford. The diagnostics report from the rental company came back indicating there were no issues with the car. Ford responded with an E-mail to continue talking to the rental company as only they could help me.

2013 Ford Fusion. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle parking brake malfunction. The consumer stated she put the vehicle in park, opened the door, and exited the vehicle. However, when she turned around, she noticed the vehicle was moving. She attempted to enter the vehicle, but it was moving too fast. The door flipped her half way around and she landed on her right hip on the road and the tire went over her left foot. The vehicle rolled down the driveway, into a parked vehicle. The consumer read where the parking brake should be set, when the vehicle was in park.

Traveling home at 35mph, vehicle lurched and lost power - was able to drive 15 mph max speed the 3 miles home, but vehicle barely accelerated after slowing or stopping. Power train light and airbag light came on. As vehicle driven into garage, dashboard lighting went off suddenly, but vehicle accelerated with effort into garage. Four hours later at 10pm, started vehicle, no warning lights came on dash. Morning of December 10, called dealership. They advised if the light did not come on this morning, then they would not be able to diagnose problem. Vehicle drove normally to work with no warning lights. Dealership said there was low voltage on the accelerator causing problem and they ordered parts and "fixed" it on December 18th, but on December 24th, I was on interstate at 55 mph, vehicle on cruise control. Speed limit increased to 60mph, began adjusting cruise control speed via thumb button on steering wheel column. After three thumb "clicks" to 58mph, vehicle lurched and lost power and began immediately decelerating. Power train light and airbag light came on. Pulled to right berm and shut off engine. Over the next 37 minutes, attempted to start vehicle every 5-6 minutes. On six different attempts, the vehicle revved as accelerator applied but the engine never "caught" or turned over, it would die as soon as the accelerator pedal released. On 7th attempt, the vehicle turned over, and I was able to proceed to the next exit. Since the car seemed to be running normally, I risked it and tried to get the vehicle home, knowing that a tow at 8pm on christmas eve would be expensive and timely. The power train light and airbag light remained on for the 8 mile trip home. The next day, vehicle operated "normally" with no power train light or airbag light. Second occurrence.

I drive a 2013 Ford Fusion, which I purchased new from an authorized Ford dealership. By 3772 miles, the car began to downshift violently, upshift around 6 or 7 thousand rpms, not shift at all, the heated seat would come on by themselves with no indicator lights, the transmission gear indicator light stays on when the car is off and no key inside, the radio turns on and off at will when the car is parked and locked up, a severe odor of mildew comes from the A/C when first comes on, the trim molding keeps coming off, the car has lost a significant amount of power, the led lights in the tail lights stay on all night even after the car is turned off, and etc. These problems are inconsistent in nature with no identifiable conditions causing the series of non-conformities. Ford Motor Company hasn't been able to fix the car after numerous attempts. I am currently in arbitration.

I was driving to an appointment, and ran late because of the failure. I stopped at a stoplight, and tried to take off, but then the car went into "limp home" mode. I hobbled the car across the intersection, and then began to use my obd II code reader that I purchased for a different vehicle, and read the code. It was P2011, and cleared it the car ran fine for a while, but the problem was still there. I went to the Ford dealership the next day, purchased the new "updated" throttle body. I got it over to my uncle's shop, were I replaced the old throttle body with the new one. I have been driving with the new throttle body, and have not had any problems since.

While driving on a city road with my foot on the gas at 35-40mph, the transmission erratically shifted into a lower gear on the transmission, causing the engine rpms to near instantaneously to go from 1750-2000rpms to just over 4000rpms. Through the RPM increase the vehicle maintained the previous 35-40mph speed. Ultimately, was forced to brake to bring the engine rpms down.
