And much like the power steering, we’re still seeing the same throttle body failures that started in 2010 continue in 2012.

While driving 15 mph, the vehicle's power assist failed to operate as needed while making a turn and the power steering assist fault warning indicator illuminated. The contact was able to drive the vehicle home as the failure persisted. The contact called ron alpen Ford (1207 N columbus St, West Liberty, ia 52776, 319-627-2958) and was informed that the power steering should return to normal when the vehicle was restarted. The dealer informed the contact to bring them the vehicle. While driving to the dealer, the failure recurred. The contact was able to arrive at the dealer where they confirmed the power assist failure. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 15V340000 (steering). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and also stated that the vehicle was not included in the recall. The contact was referred by the manufacturer to contact NHTSA. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 93,400.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fusion. While driving approximately 25 mph, the steering lost power and "service power steering now" and the advancetrac indicators illuminated. The contact called three different dealers, including bill currie Ford at 813-872-5555 (located at 5815 N dale mabry hwy, tampa, fl 33614) and was informed that there was no recall. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the power steering motor failed and needed to be replaced (code P07ae). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 144,000.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fusion. While driving 40 mph, the steering wheel became difficult to turn, the power steering fault message was displayed, and there was an abnormal chiming noise. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the steering sector was inoperable. The steering wheel "slips" when turning at speeds below ~25mph and while parked.a bang type noise is heard each time this happens. It happens when changing the rotation of the steering wheel.

Power steering assist fault. See a recall from 2015 on 400K+ cars but mine wasnt one of them. Im also having this problem. Triggers when turning car on. Resets when turning car off and on again.
Driving down the highway in my 2012 Ford Fusion at 55 miles an hour on hwy 10 and the car suddenly jerked to the right and lost power steering had to ditch it because I was unable to steer it off the road safely. I was very upset because I had my grand daughter in the vehicle with me and it scared us both.
Loss of power steering. Lights flickered while driving 35 mph, then service advance trac and service power steering message came across dashboard. Drove home and turned off the vehicle and when I turned the vehicle back on same messages appeared and steering wheel is too hard to turn therefore unable to drive.
I was driving and my power steering went out I almost lost control it is still out and every part store I go to shows me there is a recall and its hurting me to drive but this is the only transportation I have for me and my kids I called Ford to fix this but they would not and its going to cost me $2,000 to have it repaired the money that I don't have
Power steering assist is lost instantly and steering wheel difficult to move but still possible. Service engine soon light come on but no other indications. After over night the problem is fixed only to return later.
Driving down I35 at 75 mph advance trace came on and lost steering as it took it to the nearest dealer and said rackandpinion need replaced to get system to talk no steering on vechel I see recall on this but dealer says it is not and I must file a complaint on Ford I order to get it fixed with out paying 2600 for repair

The contact pulled over into a fuel station and applied air to the front passenger tire. Upon restarting the vehicle, the power steering completely failed without warning, and "service power steering now" appeared on the instrument panel. In addition, the service auto track warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was towed to village Ford (23535 Michigan ave, dearborn, mi 48124, (313) 565-3900). The dealer diagnosed that the power steering failed and the steering column needed replacement. The contact would be responsible for the repair cost. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the vehicle was not included in a recall. The contact stated that the failure was linked to NHTSA campaign number: 15V340000 (steering). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 170,000.
