CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2011 Fusion builds off the 2010's reputation. That's not a good thing.
The first thing that jumps out is the ridiculous amount of power steering complaints. It grinds, it squeals, and it eventually just fails.
And if losing power steering isn’t enough for you, how about a sudden loss of engine power? That combination is enough to achieve clunker status.

- To Open Door Trick - i have the same problem. i have figured out if you pull the lock lever it will open the door from the inside. the handle and the lock lever move together when the door is being opened. so i have been unlocking the door and using the lock lever rather than the door handle. it beats unrolling the window. hope it works for you.

I am a handicapped individual with multiple health issues. While leaving work I decided to drive, first to the recycle can at the end of the lot, but when I tried to get out the door seemed to open but made a popping sound and the door would not open. After trying several times, the door was tried from the outside. This would be a easy enough, albeit annoying, thing to do every time I needed to get out but I have a shoulder issue which makes it extremely difficult. Also, I have a small child that I sometimes need to get to right away. For me this should be a recall issue as in an emergency where time is of the essence, this could be the difference between getting out and dying. If it seems to happen all the time then its manufacture problem. This needs to be addressed so that the owners are not left holding the "bag" for a design/manufacture failure. I had a car for 16 years and never had this issue, these new cars are just disposable expensive pieces of crap. They don't want to say it is a recall issue because then they have to admit it's a flaw and fix it. And to think I was looking at the 2017 Fusion.... NOT anymore!
* I do not know my VIN but I will update my complaint as soon as I can get it off the car*
By the way two different Ford dealerships (near me); two different time frames to fix and two different prices..... That's a problem!.
