While driving down the road the RPM, speedo, temp gauges quit reading. The chimes and warnings all went off and lighted up and stay on. All of the warning lights flashed car never lost power but lost all working gauges 4 ways flashed, air bag for passenger side flashed. After turning car off and letting it sit over night started it up drove 5 miles down the road and it started with the chimes and all dash light warnings came back up showing 0 miles and flashing all different warning flashed in the warning display. I did video it on my phone so I could show the Ford garage.

Driving along on a local road (35 mph) the car suddenly lost most of it's power and started shaking. I was able to coast to a gas station and get a tow to my dealership...they tell me it's the throttle control and will cost about $500. Going online to find out more information about this I see there are several thousand complaints about the same issue in this model. The severity of this type of breakdown (some people were on the highway) and with no warning whatsoever makes this a very important issue to be dealt with. I was lucky, but am still out $500.

I started to pull into an intersection after getting the green light and the car suddenly lost acceleration. I let off the gas and tried again and the car vibrated a little and rolled to a stop in the middle of the intersection. I put it in park and turned it off and back on and it started and pulled away another 50 feet before it happened again. I was able to coast out of the way of traffic. It was towed to a Ford dealer and they replaced the throttle body the next day. After leaving the shop it had one jolt during acceleration but no further issue that day. The following morning I tried to start the car and it had no electrical power at all. They still don?T know what the issue is.

The first incident happened when pulling away from a stop light. When I pressed the accelerator there was no response yet the car was running and in gear. The wrench symbol was on the dash. I cut the car off and restarted. The problem was gone. Later that day I was driving on the interstate at 65 mph and the car just cut off. I pulled over, turned off the ignition and restarted and everything was again fine. Later it happened again while pulling away from a stop light. I shut the engine off mad restarted. This again worked but the engine light stayed on.

May 30, my husband was driving in the slow lane of freeway. Wrench light came on, I put on the flashers, and car slowed suddenly. He was able to get out of traffic. Turned off engine and turned it back on again 5. June 24, 2013. My husband was driving 65 in the fast lane of busy hwy 99. Wrench light came on, and vehicle suddenly slowed down. I put on flashers. He maneuvered to the slow lane, where speeding semi truck honked at us and nearly hit us. 6 June 28,2013 I was driving on a residential street at 35 mph when wrench came on, and vehicle I suddenly slowed down and I moved to the side of the street., turned off the engine, and restarted the car. Why is all the information about the cause of the error code (wrench) erased when car is turned off"????"

Vehicle stalled out at an intersection, check engine light and other dash indicators came on. Roadside assistance was contacted and the vehicle towed to our local dealership. Dealership advised this morning that the necessary part, an electronic throttle body, is on back-order nationwide and did not expect to have the part available for installation until the week of 7/8 at the earliest and that it was not covered under the warranty, thus costing approximately $500. A quick google search indicates that NHTSA has launched a probe into this issue..

I was driving on a residential street and got a flat tire. At the same time I received an error about the power steering and to service the advancetrac system. I thought everything was related to the flat tire. I got the tire replaced and the tire pressure error cleared but I still have no power steering. Iwas told that the two issues were not related and that the power steering is completely separate. I see many many many complaints regarding this same problem with 2010-2011 Ford Fusion. There needs to be a recall asap. Nothing broke on my car and the fluids are fine so there is no reason for this error and for the power steering to stop working.

I was driving to work when suddenly the car lost all forward power. I was in the middle of an intersection when the engine cut out, and a couple of people had to make some pretty severe emergency maneuvers to avoid accidents due to my almost-stalled car. I couldn't get any power out of it with the gas pedal. When I coasted off into someone's driveway, the car barely stayed running. It shook and missed like it didn't have enough air. There was a yellow wrench icon on, but no check engine light. I shut down and refired, and it ran perfectly. I took it to the local dealer, and they told me that there was no stored data to analyze, and that it didn't do it to them on the test drive. They said there wasn't a problem. 2 minutes of googling shows a huge problem with the throttle bodies on these cars. We need a recall!! what if people hadn't been paying attention when my car failed in the intersection? there could have been a big crash.

I was driving my 2010 Ford Fusion on the interstate, at approximately 70 miles per hour, when I started feeling it "surge". it was in cruise control at the time, and it felt like it was surging up a couple of mph over the set point, and then falling back a couple of mph below the set point. It was like the cruise was hunting for the set speed. Suddenly, there was a lurch and I lost all power from the engine. Cruise disconnected and I started coasting down rapidly. There was very nearly a rear-end collision with the guy behind me as I was losing speed so quickly. There was a yellow wrench icon lit on my dashboard, but no check engine light. I managed to cost over to the right shoulder. When I stopped and put it in park, the engine ran extremely roughly. It stumbled and missed like it wasn't getting any air. I shut the engine off, waited a minute, refired it, and it ran perfectly. We continued our trip and had it looked at when we got back. Or local Ford dealer said "there are no stored codes, it didn't do it for us, and there isn't anything wrong." This has happened several times to me and every time the dealer says the same thing. 2 minutes worth of googling shows that there seems to be a massive problem with the throttle bodies that Ford has on these cars. We need a recall! we could have been injured or killed in a wreck on the interstate when this happened.

I was driving in heavy city traffic at approximately 55 miles per hour, when the car suddenly lost all power. The engine felt "disconnected" from the transmission. I could push the gas pedal all I wanted, but there was no response from the engine. The car continued to roll under it's own momentum, but because of the sudden loss of power, I was very nearly rear-ended by the car behind me. I was in the left lane, and because I was coasting down to a stop quickly, my only choice was to pull into the center turn lane of the 5-lane road. Traffic continued to speed past me as I stopped in the center lane. As I stopped, the engine ran incredibly roughly. It was stumbling and missing like it wasn't getting enough air. There was a yellow wrench icon on my dashboard, but no "check engine light". I shut down, waited a minute, and refired the car. The car ran perfectly smoothly after that. I did some checking, and it appears to be a throttle body problem. It appears to be very widespread on 2010 and 2011 Ford's. please make them recall this. It's a huge safety concern. I'm lucky it was just me in the car, and I knew what to do. What if my wife and baby were in the car, and she wasn't as lucky" what if the guy behind me wasn't as quick on his brakes?"

On multiple occasions my car has started to stall out as I began to accelerate. The first time happened when exiting the highway, where I came to a yield sign, I then proceeded to accelerate onto the road after yielding and the car would not accelerate and started to have jumpy motions and kept revving every time I would try to step on the gas pedal. I didn't think much of it at that time. Then one day on another exit onto the highway with busy traffic I slowed down to see if traffic was clear to merge and when I went to accelerate into traffic it repeated the same symptoms. The last time it happened was I was exiting the highway and once again tried to merge into traffic and it happened again but it also happened at the red light directly after the merge. I was not trying to accelerate too quickly on any of the occasions but it makes it extremely dangerous to pull into traffic. I took the car into the Ford dealership to get the problem checked out and they came back that the electronic throttle body on my 2010 vehicle was bad and that they would have to replace it. They then proceeded to tell me that the part was on backorder and I was number 2 on the list to receive the part because they have three cars in the shop with the same problem. This seems to be a regular occurrence with my type of vehicle in my search for answers I have seen multiple forums with people posting about this problem. The Ford associate also told me that the part should be recalled but he wasn't sure that it ever would. As someone who drives frequently on the highway this is a huge concern to me that I will go to accelerate into traffic and end up seriously injured because my car won't accelerate. Needless to say it has been almost two weeks since I took my car into the dealership and I am still waiting on the part from Ford.

The first incident occurred when I was crossing a busy intersection and the vehicle lost power. I had to drive onto the median to avoid traffic, turn my car off and back on, and then it ran like nothing happened for a couple of weeks. The second incident, same thing, I was driving along and the car completely lost power and I had to pull off of road and restart the vehicle. Each time, the wrench light flashed on and the car shuttered as I came to a complete stop. After the fourth time, same scenario, the check engine light popped on and hasn't disappeared. It has now happened at least once a day for the past 3 days with no luck getting it into a mechanic for another week. After researching, I discovered that it is probably the throttle body and is a very common and dangerous problem in Ford Fusion. I am disgusted and disappointed that there are so many complaints and nothing being done. The part needs recalled! this is my second 2010 Ford Fusion after praising my first one for saving my life in a head on collision. However, after being terrified for stalling out of no where and possibly being in another life threatening accident, I am tempted to never buy Ford again.

Car appears to stall for no reason. Apparently (according to Ford) the car was not completely stalling but instead going into a "limp home mode" when car computer detected an engine problem. Car was brought to dealer and they replaced the throttle body which corrected the problem (over $400). This "stalling" effect occurred on interstate 95 in West palm beach Florida, where speed limit is 65mph, which put us and others at considerable risk of crash and injury. I subsequently read that this component defect and stalling symptoms was a Ford Fusion "epidemic".

My 2010 Ford Fusion sel was in the Ford service department for two weeks for stalling on me on a major highway recently. I felt the car suddenly lose power and was able to limp over to the shoulder with tractor trailers and early morning traffic whizzing past. I turned off the ignition, waited a few minutes, and started the car up again. I drove it the rest of the way to work & called the service department & was able to drop it off, even though I didn't feel comfortable driving the vehicle. I went online & found numerous instances of this on the Ford Fusion forum and found case after case, nationwide, of the throttle body & assembly issue being the problem. The service department told me that the replacement part was on back order as there had been a "rash of incidents." I asked why there hasn't been a recall & they said that it has to "rise to a certain level." Really" this has obviously been going on for some time--does someone have to die" I contacted Ford customer service and the part was finally replaced. I still don't feel safe in the vehicle, and I know that there are many others out there who don't even realize that this is happening.

Multiple times engine just would die and restart after pulling over to side of road and restarting. I just chucked it up to bad gas as we have had a slew of reports on this in my area. On wed June 12th while on the interstate at 70mph in busy traffic I in the middle of 3 lanes it decides to again loose accelerator pedal and idle...no where to go cars zooming up on me and honking and slammin on there brakes!. I pull over finally and turn key off and restarts easily. Upon gettin off interstate it continues to stall at will. Pulled into autozone and have it checked for error code and said was faulty throttle body. Upon looking up on line I was amazed that this is so common with the motor trends car or the year in 2010! and still no recall from Ford! I feel this is as big safety issue! what if this happens into a merge situation" or turnin into high speed traffic???" please help.

My wife was driving home from work yesterday evening at highway speed (65mph) when the car stalled and wrench icon came on. Could not accelerate but thankfully able to coast across two lanes on a busy highway at rush hour to get to shoulder! car was jerking as it came to a stop. Turned the engine off, waited a few minutes, turned engine back on and car was ok again. Unfortunately this wasn't the first time; there have been at least 5 other instances. First time was approx 9 months ago (before warranty was up). Brought the car to dealer, they plugged it into their computer and got no error codes so "no problem" detected. Now warranty is up I wonder how much this is gonna cost!! furthermore, the car battery went dead couple of weeks ago; that's only 3 and 1/2 years old. Seems odd.

Vehicle consistently stalls and has trouble restarting immediatetly after fueling. Problem is only immediately after fueling. Once vehicle starts, problem does not happen again until after fueling.

Driving approximately 35 mph while changing lanes and car lost power; wrench indicator did appear. Third instance of this happening - first two incidents occurred in first year of owning vehicle; wrench indicator did not appear in these occurrences. Vehicle currently being serviced for this problem as well as recurring lag in acceleration. This vehicle has also been serviced in the past for the aforementioned issues as well as: Jerk and clunk when reversing, unexpected rev in rpms, and slipping when gears change. This is a Fusion with the 6F35 automatic transmission. As usual, dealer has said if the code doesn't register or if they can't recreate the issue when out for a test drive then they will have to note it as no problem found.
