The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact was driving approximately 60 mph when she heard a loud noise coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer the following morning where the dealer advised the contact that the rear brake pads were severely rusted and had damaged the rotors. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and they offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 17,900. The VIN was unavailable.
Just starting off from a traffic light the car started to stall. The car was towed to montrose Ford where they determined a part in the transmission failed. The part was ordered and replaced a few days later. On the 16th of September while driving the brakes failed. The car was taken to ganley Ford on the 19th of Sept. They initially determined it was a transmission problem, exactly the same problem that was repaired in August. On the 21st of Sept. The maintenance people drove the car with a computer connected to analyze what was happening but found nothing wrong. Now they say the problem is hydraulic related but will need to keep the car for at least 30 days to solve the problem. At this time they have no idea what is really wrong. Inside the car is an intermittent noise. It can only be heard when just starting out or at very slow speeds. Ganley Ford has no idea where this noise is coming from.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. While driving approximately 65 mph on a mountainous road, the contact began to down shift and the brakes were applied numerous times before coming to a stop. The brakes emitted a strong burning odor. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for a diagnostic test. The technician stated the brakes responded normally. The manufacturer was made aware of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 17,000. The VIN was unavailable.
Poor brake response on 2010 Ford Fusion sport AWD. When attempting to slow the vehicle in an emergency stopping situation, the brakes do not produce enough friction between the pads and rotors, thus does not activate ABS unless on slippery or snow surface. The brakes do not have enough force to stop the vehicle in an emergency.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that in cold or snowy weather, the brakes would exhibit a grinding and an increase in stopping distance. The contact believed that the vehicle was not designed for the climate in which he resided. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was told that the failure was because of the weather conditions. There were no repairs to the vehicle. The failure mileage was 18,000 and the current mileage was 24,000.

After driving about 1.5 miles from home, my wife came to a set of lights and stepped on the brake to stop. The brake pedal went nearly to the floor and several dash lights came on including the brakes & anti-swerve. The vehicle slowed to a stop as she entered the intersection. Fortunately 2 things were in her favor, there was no one ahead of her and there was no cross traffic at the light. Either could have resulted in an accident. She drove the vehicle back home since she considered that the brakes had failed and she may not be able to stop the vehicle. She called me. I told her to call the dealership. She left the vehicle running thinking that perhaps as it warmed up it would work and tested it several times over an hour's time in the driveway. She pulled out the car's manual to see if there was anything listed regarding the brake failure. She read in another part of the manual about resetting the car's computer by shutting off the engine. When she restarted the vehicle, the dash lights went out and brakes returned to normal. The dealer said they "never heard of this problem" and said the earliest they could see the vehicle was 5 days later. We dropped the vehicle off the night before with a description of what was experienced. The dealer said they "could not verify the concern" and Ford does not provide any guidance regarding the issue. I was able to find quite of few instances by simply doing a "google" search including a video by 'consumer reports' who experienced the exact same problem. Ford assured them it was a 'software' issue and claimed that all 2010 Fusion hybrid owners would be notified to have the software updated. My car was a newer model 2010 and apparently not under this notification since we did not receive anything from Ford. The 'Ford customer care' suggested taking the vehicle to another dealer for service who said, "there is nothing we can do."
I was traveling from ca to nv in my 2010 Ford Fusion hybrid. I drove to minden, nv to go to a store and after leaving the store I noticed that all of my braking lights were on the dashboard. I pulled over into a parking lot and proceeded to turn the car on and off to see if it would reset something, it did not. I contacted a dealership in carson city and told them that I was having the problem, they said that they could not help me, I reiterated the problem and said that I was from out of town and that I needed the car looked at immediately. They conceded to let me come in. I drove in and then said the car would have to wait until Monday when they could have a certified hybrid mechanic look at it. Monday the mechanic looked at it and by that time the lights were off. They ran a diagnostic and saw that there was an error. They cleared the error and then drove the car around. They called me to say that the car was ready. They went to move the car from the bay and the lights came on again. They finally determined that the connector at the vac pump was not plugged all the way in and they then reconnected it. The car is now working fine.
Ford Fusion 2010 S - when the brake was depressed the car accelerated until I depressed a second time much harder. The consumer first began to notice the vehicle would intermittently not start in August. He took the vehicle to the dealer, but they were unable to duplicate the problem. The consumer insisted there was a problem and eventually, they found a technical service bulletin that addressed the issue. The problem was attributed to radio frequency intermittently corrupting the crankshaft position sensor and a new ground strip was installed. The problem seemed to be rectified. The weather stripping surrounding the rear window was loose, there was loose metal around the passenger rear wheel.
