Takata recall : I received a notice that my car had a recall on the airbag system. I went to grapevine Ford, showed them the recall and they said I would have to pay to have the airbags replaced.
Takata recall; I received the recall notice dated July 2016, immediately notified academy Ford and was told that the parts are not in and I would receive a notice/letter when the parts are available. I'd check with them every couple months with the latest being 10/17/17, and still no luck to correct this problem. I was given an 800 number to call "headquarters", but the gentleman only said that there was millions of cars out there that need taken care of....I asked what was I supposed to do about this and he told me to "drive carefully". today, 10/31/17, I get this card in the mail stating that tk holdings are filing chapter 11. Does this mean they will not be fixing my car's problem? this has gone on for over a year and it makes no sense why this airbag issue isn't fixed by now. Can someone please assist me with this matter. I will be contacting several different dealerships to see if I get any help. I don't even allow anyone to ride in the front passenger seat due to this problem.
