The contact owns a 2018 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving at 30 MPH, the vehicle stalled with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact called the dealer where she was informed that her vehicle could not be inspected the same day. The contact then had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic who linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V735000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the VIN was not included. The mechanic called the manufacturer and it was confirmed that the VIN was not included. The vehicle remained in the possession of the mechanic and was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.
