This stalling while driving problem has occurred on two occasions, both times at low speed. Once while making a right 90deg turn and once while slowly rolling to a stop at an intersection. The seconed time the car was hard to restart.
Approx, 1 month ago the engine stalled out while driving on the highway. 6/6/02 the engine stalled out on highway offramp. 6/7/02 car stalled out while going approx 35mph on a city street. This sounds alarmingly like the "Focus" of one of the two new investigations being opened. I am going to try to get my dealer to let me out of my lease. Thanks.
The engine stalls while driving as if it is going to shut down. The signal lights will not stop blinking when making left or right turns. This was repaired by East Ford in Feb 2001 and this problem is back again. I feel that these are more defects in the Focus.
Six weeks previously, engine stalled on freeway. Dealer said couldn't find a problem and let them know if it happened again. 5/31/02 could not get car to go; had towed to dealer. After several days they finally thought it was the air intake valve causing the problem. Today I hear about the Focus stalling problem possibly being caused by debris in gas tank. I am afraid to drive this car for fear it will stall again on the freeway. I was lucky the last time that I was able to coast to the shoulder and did not get into a crash. I was able to re-start the car and get it off the freeway. Other continuing problems that I have had the dealer fix over 3 times each: Squeaking brakes and molding around the doors falling off.
While driving at low speed and without warning vehicle stalled. Then, shutoff in the middle of traffic. Dealer has been notified mechanic stated engine stalling was under investigation.
Vehicle was going 45mph on a bridge and stalled as vehicle was shifting to 4th gear. Steering locked and brakes failed while motor shutdown. Air conditioner and radio continued to work. Vehicle restarted, but the engine check light came on, and vehicle stalled again. Crankshaft was replaced by Ford dealer.
While driving, vehicle will jerk, on one occasion it would not go more than 35mph and then it stalled, vehicle has also stalled at highway speeds. This has happened numerous times. Contacted dealer who cannot fix the problem.

While driving 20 mph, car complete shut off causing consumer to lose complete control of vehicle and manuvering of steering wheel, manufacturer contacted.
