The passenger side rear axle bolt sheared off and could be heard rattling inside the wheel/hub. Dealership showed the bolt to us and said it's common with the newer body style F-150's. My wife was heading out this weekend to drive back home to Illinois from here in Montana. Now she's stuck here until next week at the earliest.

While driving, particularly when accelerating or climbing an incline, the transmission clunks, bangs, lurches and hesitates. It makes driving the vehicle unpredictable. This is distracting and unsafe as it means that the driver is not confident in consistent acceleration and control of the vehicle. Also, other drives may be at some risk because this new vehicle is not traveling along the roadway as would normally expected.

My latest transmission problem is most noticeable in Tow/Haul mode. It is also the most concerning and dangerous. At higher speeds, such as on the interstate, when braking for some reason, such as traffic congestion, the transmission downshifts and the r.p.m. slows as it should. However around 2nd or 3rd gear and 1,900 r.p.m. the engine speed abruptly increases to around 3,500 r.p.m. and then begins to decrease again. This has happened with or without a utility trailer attached. Luckily I have not had my 24 foot car hauler and 5,000 pound limousine behind me on the way to a car show. With or without a trailer, God only knows what would happen if I relied on adaptive cruise control. I don't use it.

Heard a loud clanging noise coming from the right rear tire area of the truck. I removed the center cap on my tire and noticed the axel bolt was sheared off. I drove to the dealership, they looked it over and kept the truck to repair it. They have to order the parts and not sure when it will be fixed. They did mention that they had seen another F150 with the same problem.

This problem has been ongoing, happening nonstop up to multiple times daily since Feb of 2022 and has spent now 70 days at the dealership in search of the issue. Luckily, the vehicle has not caused an incident yet, but I am afraid to drive it if I get it back from the dealer again as the issue has just gotten worse. The vehicle randomly while driving goes into a "limp mode" in which 1 of 2 things happens. 1) If unable to pull over immediately, the vehicle has very erratic throttle control and 2) the vehicle sometimes gives a warning about the "adavancetrack" system and will sometimes shift itself into neutral out of nowhere forcing you to coast to a stop no matter where or what type of street you are on. In researching this problem to help my dealer at first and now to try and protect myself while in a battle with ford, it seems to be a common problem discussed on many forums on the internet and facebook and seems quite common among the F-150 powerboost. Ford is refusing me a buyback at this time and ignoring the safety implications that my vehicle is having

My pickup was at the dealer getting an oil change and tire rotation (23140 miles) and I was informed that the right rear axle bolt had sheared requiring replacement of the axle assembly and that it was not safe for me to drive the vehicle off the lot. This is the second time that the right rear axle bolt has sheared. The first time, the axle assembly was replaced at this same dealer at 14482 miles. I no longer have the original bolt that sheared, I will request the second sheared bolt so it could be inspected if needed. I do not know what the safety ramifications are except to say that both times, Ford said it was not safe for me to drive the truck off the lot. There are numerous reports of rear axle bolts shearing in 2021/2022 F-150s with the Max Tow package (apparently, this package has a different axle configuration) on the Internet. For example: https://www.f150forum.com/f129/2021-powerboost-rear-rotor-axle-bolt-sheared-515460/index21/#post7265683 The vehicle has been inspected (and the axle assembly replaced already once) by my local Ford dealer. It is currently being held by the dealer for the second repair. There were no warning lights, noises or any other indications that the axle bolt had sheared. When the first bolt sheared, I heard a rattle from the right rear tire and I expected to find a broken lug bolt or loose lug nut but instead found the sheared axle bolt. No noises were heard when the second bolt sheared.

Both rear axle retaining bolts snapped. The only thing holding the axles in was the brake rotors and calipers. Had they not started squeaking and grinding, I would not have known those critical bolts had broken! At the dealership now being repaired. With the same faulty methods and parts. VERY common problem for the F150 Powerboost with the Max-Tow package.

The 10 speed transmission used in Ford vehicles is plagued with problems to include, skipping gears while shifting, very harsh upshifts and very harsh downshifts. It's just a matter of time when a failure of this transmission will cause a serious accident. My 2021 F150 exhibits this behavior on a frequent basis yet the Ford dealers tell me this behavior is normal. Every Ford F150 owner I have spoken too are experiencing the same problems. Why isn't NHTSA doing anything about this" Or does it only matter when an accident occurs where is loss of life"

Truck was due for oil change and tire rotation so I brought it to the dealer I purchased it from on Friday, 24-Feb-2024. When the service tech removed the driver side rear tire, the spindle nut securing the wheel hub to the axle fell on the ground due to a fracture (picture attached) in the mating threaded part of the axle. Was informed of customer satisfaction campaign 22B34 and a replacement part was ordered and installed the next day. The failure occurred sometime between 01-Sep-2022 at 19,384 miles when the tires were last rotated and 24-Feb-2023 at 28,085 miles. It appears to have occurred some time ago as the fracture portion is oxidized and there's quite a bit of marking to the outer circumference as I assume it was rattling around in the wheel assembly for some time.
