Approximately 2 weeks after purchasing the truck I noticed some harsh shifting, jerking, and sudden acceleration, and hesitation issues. They were intermittent and I was advised this is not uncommon with this model vehicle. However, these issues have become more frequent and severe. Next, I noticed the gears began slipping and the truck seemed to not be able to -??find-?? the gear it needed to be in. The transmission would slam into gear or begin slipping under acceleration. There is no rhyme or reason to it, I have not been able to pinpoint it to a specific gear or up/down shift. It simply loses power and neither the gas nor brake work. It will coast until the wrench (check engine?) symbol comes on and then the gas will function. This week the transmission has started intermittently locking into a specific gear without the ability to shift. It-??s now happened 3 times. You cannot reverse or drive, the transmission puts itself in park while the dash still indicates its in drive or reverse. After parking the truck for a couple of hours, I could start and drive as usual. Most importantly, twice Saturday the truck seemed to shift out of gear, so hard my head hit the steering wheel, and lost power going 70mph on I64. I have attempted to video these events to help diagnose the issues, but obviously driving and recording are dangerous and difficult.

Truck uses an excessive amount of oil that would not be corrected by Ford. Due to this issue the truck failed to operate normally. It stalled in the middle of an incredibly busy intersection, causing traffic back up as well as increase safety concern for the drive of the truck as well as other drivers on the road. This has happened multiple times. Ford is aware of the engine oil consumption issue. Has expressed multiple times that it was not a problem. Attempted to fix by selling a new longer dip stick to attempt to hide the problem with excessive oil consumption.

My engine light came on and within the same day my vehicle shifted extremely slow. it was difficult to merge into traffic and almost caused an accident. I took the vehicle to Mechanic and they advised the engine light was consistent with the timing chain failure. I called a local local Ford dealer. They seem to be familiar with the issue and said it would cost $4000 to fix.

Failed camshaft phasers and VVT solenoids. Mechanic shop has confirmed the problem and has said this is far from the first failure they have seen with Ford trucks and these parts. No warning lights to indicate the problem to the driver. Will lead to major engine failure.

The vehicle is a 10 speed automatic, while driving the vehicle when it gets to about 4th gear, the transmission slips. This vehicle was purchased brand new and has only 64,000 miles on it. The transmission slips and at lower speeds when the transmission slips and hesitates before it shifts to another gear, this is a safety issue as while the vehicle semi stalls causes the potential to be rear ended by a trailing vehicle. This vehicle manufacturer should stop selling these transmissions that have serious issues with them. Surely when you purchase a brand new vehicle you don-??t expect to have any problems with it at four years into ownership.

My 2019 F150 with the 10 speed transmission has several issues that I believe affect the safety and reliability of the vehicle: 1) The transmission shifts very roughly into 5th gear. The shifts are so rough that I suspect the other components of the drive train are being placed under unnecessary strain. 2) When moving forward at idle the truck will on occasion surge forward. This is a potential safety issue if it were to occur in traffic. 3) When moving forward at slow speeds the transmission periodically slips as if it was shifted into neutral. My local dealership "flashed" the software for the transmission but it did not correct the problem. I returned the truck to the dealership and they've now had it for 2 months with no resolution to the problem.

Total engine failure while driving ~70 MPH, on a 4-5 lane highway, during rush hour traffic. No CEL activated, other vehicles had to swerve around my truck while I maneuvered the lanes with no engine power. Myself and my 5 year old son are lucky to be alive. 66k miles on truck when engine failed, issues started at 41K miles. Have taken vehicle to multiple Ford dealerships, 13 times in the last 2 years under warranty complaining of engine rattle, knock, noise, and oil consumption. Informed each time no engine issues present. Referred me to "Excessive Oil TSB" and "Engine Knock and Noise TSBs". Was instructed that this was normal operation and treated as if I was somehow crazy. Was taken to dealership for oil consumption check early Feb 2023 and engine failed March 2023. Requested Ford fill out a NHTSA report many times to include an ethics complaint from March to July 2023 and I feel I have been misled and they have not reported this issue. I have requested a root cause be performed as to how an engine fails after 13 visits (in 2 years) at 66k miles and feel that the issue is trying to be covered up, get a new engine in, and get rid of the old one with zero due diligence as to what occurred. 65+ maintenance record pages provided to Ford, an overview of event with maps attached, video of scenario sent, to no avail.
