When accelerating the transmission will grind in neutral. Let of gas and will finally shift in gear. Happened 2 years ago when I bought it new. Now 3 times in the last 2 months. Ford dealers where I live don't have transmission mechanics. Shifts all over the place and has metal rattling noise. Unsafe to drive with just lest then 30k miles.

Driving back from, San Antonio, Tx., to Millsap, Tx., in my 2019 Ford F-150 truck, I experienced down shifting and up shifting hard. It was making driving very difficult and dangerous. My Ford App alerted me that there was a Powertrain Malfunction. The little wrench light came on the dash indicating Powertrain problems. I was very concerned for my safety. I have turned it into, Southwest Ford, in, Hudson Oaks, Texas. I was not told that this was an issue with this year model, nor have I received anything in the mail about it. The Ford Dealership above was where I bought the truck and all the oil changes, ect., have been done. I have researched this problem and have come across a class action lawsuit that describes what happened with my truck. Ford has not notified me to this problem. What else should I do to resolve this?

On a recent road trip, I had a break in traffic to get onto the road I need to get on to but I had to give it a little more gas to get up to speed to not cause the oncoming traffic to evade crashing into me or jamming on their brakes. When I did so, the vehicle paused then there was a big clunk then it shifted into gear and did its thing without incident. Unfortunately, I experienced it several more times when trying to merge onto the highway on short onramps. I searched online for the problem as this was something new to me and realized that it is very common with Ford F150 trucks that have the 10R80 transmissions.

My 2019 F-150 with a 10 speed transmission shifts hard between 3rd and 4th gear, 4th and 5th gear. The hard shifting between these gears is for both acceleration and deceleration. The hard shifting is kind of like a slam between gears. The problem seems to be getting worse. It used to only happen occasionally (5,000 miles) and now happens almost daily (23,000 miles). The truck has only 23,000 miles on it.

I was pulling away for a stop sign and the transmission didn-??t engage. The rpm-??s rose but it wouldn-??t move. My Ford Pass sent a message saying I had a power train failure. Shutting it down and restarting got it to move but still had a tendency to slip. I drove slowly 1 mile to a Ford dealer and then the truck wouldn-??t engage at all. The truck had to be towed My son-??s Explorer had a similar failure earlier this year.

I had a problem with rough shifting from new but it continued to get worse. The dealer reset the electronics hoping to improve but it didn't help. I left on a trip and after a few hundred miles I received a powertrain failure warning. Trying to complete my trip the transmission would fail to pull, jerk hard during shifts causing it to be unsafe to drive. It eventually stopped completely.

The transmission started shifting down and up uncontrollably while traveling down the highway at 75 MPH. It would bounce between 9 and 10 gear and then down to 5 and 6, all within seconds. Was not towing anything, and it-??s not the first time it-??s happened. A wrench icon appeared, saying -??see manual-??. Transmission temp showed 240 degrees. Within 5 minutes we-??d pulled over and turned vehicle off. As we were slowing down exiting freeway, gear shifting was extremely pronounced.

I was making a left turn onto a busy highway on March 29th, and my truck shut off. A message appeared on the screen that said Auto start/stop shift to P, then restart engine. A battery and wrench symbol appeared. I almost was t-boned as a result of the malfunction.\ I bought the vehicle at Causeway Ford in Manahawkin with 62,000 miles and have only had it for a month. I took vehicle there for repair on March 30th. The dealership claimed they performed a hard reset and was able to correct the issue. I had the vehicle for 12 days since, and the issue reoccured almost causing another accident. I am furious.

The Ford 10R80 Transmission is extremely clunky, unsafe, and unreliable. Me, among tens of thousands of others have the exact same problems with them and Ford ignores and disregards them and the safety hazards they create. Your form does not allow for multiple instances or dates. This is/has been a consistent issue form the purchase of the vehicle, to the new transmission I now have to put into it under 100k miles.

My Ford F-150 is a ten-gear truck. For the past several months, my truck gears don't shift, won't stay in gear, and most recently, won't go into gear i.e. I couldn't put my truck in reverse. As I'm driving, I will experience loud bangs and shudders randomly and without warning. My car has 70k miles on it, has not been in an accident, and has been regularly maintained. I took my card to the Ford dealership to address the issue and was told it had to do with a computer issue. Whatever they did has made it worse. I know there is a class-action lawsuit pending over this very issue in Pennsylvania (I live in California) and my truck is no longer safe to drive, as I fear it will slip into gear and possibly cause an accident.

Transmission make erratic gear changes at highway speeds from 10th gear to 2nd gear just for a split second then back to 10th. no warning. Loss of gas pedal in passing lane to overtake a slower vehicle throttle does not respond you have to fall back try to get back in right lane until the computer decides to give you back control usually about 20 sec. Also pushes transmission fluid out of vent tube on transmission.

While traveling down road at 50MPH, vehicle suddenly lost power and would not respond to inputs from accelerator narrowly avoiding being rear-ended by following traffic. Transmission shift irregularities have plagued my vehicle since the beginning as it hesitates to shift then shifts hard causing whiplash like effect. Other times it randomly downshifts and will not respond to throttle inputs, creating an unsafe driving condition. In addition it will surge/lurch ahead without throttle input causing the need to break to avoid collisions. The vehicle currently has 12,227 miles on the odometer, owned for 18 months, purchased new. Has been brought into service on three separate occasions for this issue just in the last 7 months. Transmission is now being replaced as Ford can not determine the cause of the transmission failure. Class action lawsuit of this 10R80 transmission is currently pending. The NHTSA should get involved before someone is injured or killed. My wife or child will not ride in the vehicle as this transmission renders the vehicle unsafe.

10 speed transmission has trouble shifting in most gears and has become a safety issue in traffic. I have taken the truck back to the dealer once already and they made the problem worse. I am attempting to get the truck back to the dealer again. I have found many complaints and articles about F150's with the 10 speed transmission having issues. In fact, I've read there are class action lawsuits against Ford for issues with their 10 speed transmission. To date, my dealership has not acknowledged there is an issue with the transmission.

The vehicle has a 10 speed transmission. the transmission does not shift correctly, stalls between gears which causes a safety issue for persons driving behind my vehicle, also in intersections and merging into highway traffic. there are no warnings, no dash lights. The transmission simply does not shift. Manufacturer has not been able to correct the issue. This is a low mileage truck, 13,000 miles, it's truly a dangerous situation
