2019 F150 with 65,000 miles on it, started having issues shifting gears. Was accelerating on the Freeway and jumped from 3rd to 8th gear losing all power and making all passengers jerk forward whipping our necks. Also, started to not go into the right gear after starting up in the morning; put the truck into drive and immediately went into 7th gear without releasing the break and the Powertrain Malfunction came on. Restarted the vehicle and put in drive and the transmission went to 4th gear, started driving and the Powertrain Malfunction light cleared and shifted somewhat normally other than hard shifting. Ford Dealership diagnosed the truck and stated that it needs a new Transmission already at 65,000 miles and they will not warranty it since it is already past 60,000 miles. A transmission should not be going out at 65,000 miles.

The 10 speed transmission in the truck slips into neutral during acceleration. I usually loose 2nd or 3rd gear. The engine RPM spikes to 4-5000 and the vehicle coasts to near stop before transmission grabs again. It can create a danger on highway acceleration ramps or at stop signs. It happens intermittently and has been going on for 9 months or so.

The transmission has is constantly slipping in an out of gear along with hard shifts that could potentially cause whiplash with how hard the gears shift and grab. Also truck slips in and out of gear when going on an incline resulting in vehicle no longer able to move and started to row backwards even though the truck said it was in 3rd gear. These transmission issues seem very prevalent with the 10r80 ford 10 speed transmissions. I also experienced a situation where the truck went into a limp mode and had no power and almost lost all ability to steer and stop the truck due to the transmission issue.

Numerous transmission problems of slipping and hard shifting, then stuck in lower gear, can not upshift to higher gears. Have taken for warranty service 3 times now. 1st time caused me to be stranded in remote desert area on one of hottest days of year with wife and child in car with no tow because of COVID/passenger restrictions. Issue is intermittent not constant. But once issue begins it doesn't not go away until taken in for service. Not safe to be driving on road with these issues.

This vehicle's transmission has been discussed over the last few years referencing its "harsh shifting" and seems to not work correctly. Specifically in gears 2-5, the vehicle fails to shift properly which then doesnt allow the vehicle to move appropriately. We have incidents where the vehicle will shut off suddenly asking for us to turn off and turn on the vehicle. Our safety is in harms way each time the vehicle fails to shift properly and Ford fails to remedy the transmission (10R80)

The truck skips gears when speeding up causing the vehicle to stall and then slam into gear creating a whiplash affect. This is particularly dangerous when trying to pull on to a road with oncoming traffic as the vehicle stalls before getting into gear which could result in a wreck. While decreasing speed the vehicle skips gears again creating a loud clunking noise, as if the transmission is going to fall out of the bottom of the truck and jolts the passenger.

10 Speed transmission makes loud clunking noises when shifting. Also some times when you start vehicle is make a Loud bang. Dealer knows there is a problem but acts like nothing is wrong because they do not have a fix. Tried to reprogram tranny but does the same. I have complained everytime I go in for a oil change. I don-??t think they have any qualified techs to try and resolve the problem. If you read on line several people are experiencing the same problem.

Just purchased the truck less than a month ago, with 32k miles on it. On a trip to PA. The vehicles transmission started to shift hard and not downshift at all, and or shift into neutral. I made it to a cord dealership and had to leave it sit a week for repairs. Upon picking it up I was told that the model transmissions have a known issue and there isnt a fix, all they could do was drain the fluid and reprogram the computer. I drove approx 200 miles and lost the same functions in the transmission.

I purchased a 2019 Ford F150 2.7l Ecoboost with 10speed transmission in May 2022 and it only had 19,000 miles on it. When I first bought it, it seemed to drive fine, but less than 3000 miles later the gears started shifting really hard, especially 3rd through 5th gear. I took it to my local dealer and they reset the PCM module and said to drive it because it has an adaptive transmission that it would have to relearn driving habits. Well, shortly after I was on the interstate doing 75mph on cruise control in 10th gear, the truck shifted all the way down to 1st gear, went to limp mode, then revved rpms and went back to 8th gear then wrench came on the dash light. This truly could've been a bad situation and possible accident if I wasn't able to get over to safety lane. I took it to the dealer the next week and they reset the computer again and cleaned valve body. The vehicle still has hard shifts between 3rd and 5th gears, although not quiet as harsh. Ford needs to issue a recall on the 2019 Ford F150s with the 10r80 transmissions or figure it out soon. I'm afraid there is going to be a serious accident, if one hasn't happened already, if these transmissions are not fixed soon. Several states already have class action lawsuits about this particular transmission.

The transmission on my 2019 Ford F150 drops from seventh gear to first gear and out of gear on the freeway which causes a health and safety hazard. On the freeway I was almost rear ended when I lost all power to the truck. I have taken it to Ford. The first two times they said it was a computer glitch. The third time I was told to let the truck warm up. This all started on Sep 11, 2021 and has just gotten worse over time.

Vehicle stalls by traffic light or in the middle of intersection after driven for 20 min at highway speeds. Dealer couldn't figure out the issue. Feel unsafe for my wife to drive the truck with kids inside is vehicle shuts off in the middle of intersection.

The vehicle has a 10 speed transmission which is designed to skip gears in a smooth fashion while accelerating. The transmission has been "chirping" when shifting from 1st to 3rd and very hard shifting from 3rd to 4th or 5th gear and also from 6th to 7th gear. Now the transmission is often not engaging and slipping out of gear when shifting out of 3rd and into 4th/5th and simply disengaging and going into a neutral state. This causes the vehicle to lose power and it will not accelerate. This is a very dangerous situation especially when attempting to merge onto the highway, turning left or any time traffic is behind me and the transmission disengages. This has occured on three separate occasions from 9/12/22 to 9/16/22. I have attempted to have the vehicle inspected by a Ford dealer and the earliest appointment is Jan 3rd 2023!! Another Ford dealer stated I could drop off the vehicle and the diagnostics check would take 3-5 days and they do not provide a loaner vehicle. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to or during the transmission slipping out of gear.

I am getting engine codes that say my cam shaft sensors are bad. I replaced cam shaft sensors but the engine continually loses power, shifts hard, lurches and unexpectedly downshifts. Yesterday, complete loss of power on the highway and I was forced to put transmission into Manual and shift manually to get to a safe location. Placing truck in Reverse from Park causes a loud clunk and jerk backwards. I do not know at any given time if I will be able to safely pull out into traffic.

Intermittent & hard shifting whith increasing & decreasing speeds. Downshifts hard. Jumps multiple gears when slowing to stops. Dealership reset software saying that's all that can be done. Not excepting anymore transmission work. Same issues. Continuing issue since purchase 4/20 w/ 13k miles. Currently have 31k miles and experiencing the same issue.

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while staring at the vehicle, he noticed an abnormal noise coming from the engine. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to continue driving to his destination. The contact received notification Manufacturer Communications: 21B10 in May of 2022. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer and had the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) updated. The contact stated that several days later, he noticed an abnormal noise coming from the engine. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer and made an appointment to have the vehicle diagnosed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.

Truck has harsh shifting transmission, loss of power at times, jumping from gear to gear, decelerating for no reason. Dealer diagnosed transmission problem as below: CDF cylinder sleeve slipped 1/4" causing C clutch teflon seal to blow out of direct support seal groove. Planetary containment cylinder gouged from F clutch friction teeth. Dealer states they will repair transmission. Truck has only 49K miles and is only 3 years old. This 10 speed transmission has recurrent problems with many customers and should be recalled and fixed.
