While in motion, the adaptive cruise control and collision warning system will activate and apply the brakes with force for no reason. At 70 mph, this is quite dangerous and has almost caused several accidents. I have since deactivated the adaptive cruise. The same issue occurred with a 2015 model I had and was never fixed by Ford.
While driving on the highway at approx. 60mph my Ford 2016 F150 3.5L V6 lurched and stalled, experiencing a complete loss of power, throttle control and acceleration. This was the 7th throttle malfunction my F150 has experienced in the past 5 months. Each malfunction exactly the same. Since I am now forced to only travel in the far right lanes for safety, I had enough remaining momentum to veer my F150 off of the highway and bring it to a complete stop. With some effort my F150 struggled but was able to restart and traveling a low speeds I made it safely home. Due to the dangerous nature of this incident I have taken my F150 to the dealership twice so far. Ford believes the issue is the electronic throttle body, but they have been unable to fix the problem. Most recently I received my F150 from the dealer only 4 short days ago where they replaced the electronic throttle body, but it had no effect, the problem still exists. The malfunction only occurs during the most dangerous periods of driving, while on the highway/freeway. This malfunction puts the safety of the drivers and their families at risk unnecessarily. I have avoided collisions only by driving and staying in the far right lane at all times. It is only a matter of time before someone else experiences this problem traveling at 65mph on the highway and due to a sudden loss of power and complete acceleration causes a significant traffic accident. I hope this never happens but it is my grave and real concern for my own welfare every time I drive my 2016 F150.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. While driving approximately 5 mph and attempting to make a U turn, the vehicle did not respond when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The contact stated that the failure occurred approximately 25 times in a three month period. The vehicle was taken to the dealer approximately six times, but they could not duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 2,600.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. While driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate without warning and lost power. The vehicle restarted after one attempt, but the failure recurred twice. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 4,900. The VIN was not available.
While driving on a highway, vehicle's low engine oil pressure illuminated, vehicle's speed dropped to coasting level and had to pull to side of highway with no ability to accelerate. This is an extremely dangerous situation where there is loss of power and the engine would not restart. Oil level was checked and was near the high mark. The vehicle has 316 miles on it and had to be towed.

My 2016 F-150 plarinum with adaptive cruise control, runs up behind vehicles on occasions then brakes hard. If the other vehicle is a semi, as you attempt to pass him with adaptive cruise on, the car brakes hard and slows down on occasions. In addition to this problem, on 5 different occasions when coming to a bend in the road, the steering gets very stiff as if the power steering is inoperative. The is very briefly before the steering returns to a very sensitive steering, also very brief. The vehicle at this point is in a under steer condition which it corrects itself. This has occurred at least 6 times. My selling Ford dealer has twice checked the programing with 0 results. No codes- no problems when they test drive it. The vehicle has 3550 miles and I'm getting scared to drive it. This first problem is identical to the 2015 Ford F-150 problem. According to my selling dealer, my vehicle which I purchased 2/19/16 was built towards the end of last year, but my dealer states this has no bearing on my alleged cruise problems. My selling dealer is two rivers Ford in mount juliet, Tennessee. An additional vehicle at their dealership has been reported by one of their salesmen to have the same problem to management, and the problem exists today is my understanding. The speed at which these problems arise is varied and on at least one occasion I was almost rear ended by a semi who was coming up behind me when the brakes applied themselves.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. While driving 65 mph, the vehicle stalled and the check engine and traction control warning lights illuminated. The contact pulled the vehicle over to the roadside and was able to start it after multiple attempts. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the throttle body failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 9,300.
Adaptive cruise control braking issue. My new 2016 Ford F150 platinum edition pick up truck will automatically brake hard when passing some large trucks while operating in adaptive cruise control. The lane ahead of me was clear with no vehicles in sight in my lane each time this happened. The large trucks I passed were on my right and not in my lane or even close to the lane markers. The large trucks did not have anything hanging over into my lane. These dangerous braking events happened while I was driving on very good dry highways and freeways in Arizona. I have no stickers or after market items on my new F150 truck. This hard automatic braking happened to me on four different occasions during the month of March. In each of the four braking events I was traveling between 65 and 75 mph on straight high quality roads in Arizona. I was almost rear-ended the last time it happened so I'm no longer using cruise control. As of today 4/8 my truck is at the morgan hill Ford store in morgan hill calif for inspection of this dangerous problem.
While in park with the driver door open, truck off, radio on, confirmed shifter was in park position. I accidentally engaged manual transmission control in front of and gear selector at thumb position of shifter as both are unavoidable. As I was getting out to reach something in the back seat, truck released park and rolled away. In addition, while driving in D (drive) thumb accidentally made contact with (-) control and quickly decelerated to a quick stalled stop, beginning at 50 mph down to a stop in the road in less than one quarter of a mile. M (manual) selector is an option on the panel, however, both these events happened while in P and D, respectively. In park the truck was in a stall and stopped. In D the truck was traveling at 50 mph. This is a software malfunction that is allowing an override of braking while in park and rapid shifting at the touch of one control that sits under the drivers thumb.
