The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. While driving low speeds, the engine shuddered and the vehicle hesitated to accelerate. The vehicle was taken to cleveland Ford (2496 S. lee hwy, cleveland, tn), but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The manufacturer was notified, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 45,000. Consumer stated truck also has numerous signal losses on tac satellite radio signal. Consumer took it to the dealer several times and was told there was no problem.
As I was driving down a major interstate I94 while changing lanes my 2016 F150 3.5 ecoboost entered limp mode in front of a semi I just recently passed. The semi had to slam on his brakes and I had to swerve to the side of the road to avoid a collision. The service advancetrac and wrench/service light was lit up on the dash. The vehicle would not move. The truck ran but when the gas pedal was pressed the engine sputtered and wouldnt move.
I have a 2016 Ford F150. 4 times now the auto breaking system engaged for no reason. 3 of the times I was driving in cruise control down a straight section of highway 80 going to lake Tahoe, the auto breaking system engaged for no reason while passing a semi truck. The latest auto breaking episode almost killed us, we were driving back from lake Tahoe on hwy 80, (cruise control was not no), when we were passing a semi truck on a curve in the two lane highway going about 70 miles per hour when the auto breaking system engaged for no reason and slowed our truck down form 70 to about 35 miles per hour in just 1-2 seconds....I was not able to override by flooring the accelerator for at least 2-4 seconds....a semi truck behind us came within inches from rear ending us!! this issue needs to be addressed by Ford. Its a huge safety issue!!

I was driving down the highway and my truck completely shut off I managed to pull to the side of the road and got it started again. It did it again down the road. I made it to work hoping that it was just a glitch. It did it again on my way home nearly causing a collision, all the warning lights came on and the truck stated up again. It did it several times and is a big safety concern for me because I have my family in my vehicle most of the time. I did further research and several other people has had the same issue. My question is why Ford has not issue a recall for this problem. Is everyone waiting for it to be a fatality or someone end up seriously injured. Someone needs to address this problem. Thousands of drives safety is at risk because of this
The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. While the vehicle was parked and unoccupied with the engine running, the vehicle accelerated independently without warning. While the gear shifter was still in the park position, the vehicle crashed into the contact's boat. There were no injuries. The contact stated that the gear shifter failed to move out of park. The contact powered off the engine. The vehicle was restarted and it operated normally. There was no warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 18,000.
While driving around 15mpg uphill start assist warning came on then downhill start assist flashed followed by check engine light and wrench light and sudden loss of power. Engine was still running but no accelerator control.
Speed control includes systems and devices intended to control (accelerate) the speed of the vehicle to the driver's intent such as the accelerator pedal, throttle control cables, linkages, actuators, electronic control units and software, cruise control system actuators and deactivating systems, and other components and systems that may interfere with the speed control
While traveling on interstate at a speed of 80 mph, my 2016 F-150 eco boost with 50,000 miles went into limp mode due to a faulty electronic throttle body causing me to lose the ability to accelerate and worrying for my family's life as I was decelerating on a busy 4 lane freeway trying to find a way to pull over without being smashed.
When driving the vehicle on freeways with adaptive cruise control enabled, if the vehicle approaches a vehicle in an adjacent lane (typically a larger vehicle like a truck with a trailer, semi, or tanker) the collision aid activates and heavily applies the brakes. If someone is following close behind me, as has happened in at least 4 instances, the individual will need to stop and make an emergency maneuver to avoid colliding. In both cases, the braking only lasted momentarily but was enough to reduce the vehicles speed 20-30 mph during that time. The vehicle has been inspected by Ford but they have said that there is nothing that they can do. For the time being, we keep this feature disabled until Ford can get this issue resolved. There have been recalls for previous years but ours is not included. Because of this Ford has said there's nothing they can do on multiple attempts to get the problem resolved.
Almost exactly the same experience as incident numbers 11090030, 11063919, and 11048673. There may be others, but, I didn't go any further. I was driving on a bridge without any safety shoulders and the vehicle suddenly lost all power, "hill start assist not available" indicator came on, "service advance trac" indicator came on, and "see manual" indicator came on with the wrench symbol. After nearly being rear-ended by another car, I was able to coast to an off ramp and pull over. The truck was shaking violently. I shut it off and then restarted it and was able to get back over the bridge but then the same exact scenario happened again on the other side. On the way home, it happened a couple more times but I was able to get it home. I scheduled a service appointment at a Ford dealer to take the truck in on Monday. The vehicle has about 43,000 miles on it. As I mentioned earlier, I was almost rear-ended by another vehicle when this occurred, so, this is an extremely dangerous malfunction.
Driving 60 mph hour and vehicle suddenly lost all power. This happened twice. The vehicle hill decent light and some other warning lights would come on and the vehicle would shake violently. It would then lose all power and I had to coast off to the side, turn the vehicle off, wait 30 seconds, and restart. It would then go about a 1/2 mile and do it again. I purchased the vehicle as a certified vehicle a month earlier. The electronic throttle body has failed. However, the dealership was having issues replicating the issue and they were back ordered on the part.the vehicle has 29500 miles on it. This is dangerous as I could be rear ended. Believe me, if that happens, lawsuits will fly!
While driving on a busy highway with no warning my F-150 lost power. When this happened the drive power decreased by about 95%, and warnings appeared on the dashboard. These warnings included: Service advance trac, hill descent fault, see manual, airbag fault, and the service wrench. The engine idled roughly and the vehicle had to be turned off. We restarted and the same issues occurred so we parked the vehicle.
Was driving straight down a highway. Truck warning lights started appearing on the dash hill descent control fault, hill assist fault, service advance trac. Turn signals would not work and gas pedal was unresponsive. Truck slowed to almost a complete stop and began shaking violently as the engine was about to die.
As I was driving about 40 mph, the truck suddenly decelerated to almost a stand still. Two messages appeared on the dash board info system. Service needed for hill assist and advance trac, or something similar. I had to drive home, half mile, at a walking pace which was as fast as the truck would go. There was no warning. This is a deadly flaw. How could you not have Ford F150 in your database?
2016 F150 with the 2.7L ecoboost randomly dies after startup. Sometimes it will die while in motion almost causing an accident. There's no stored codes for the dealer. It's been in the shop 6 times total. The first time they put a crankcase vent sensor and then the 2nd time sparkplugs. It's dies and gone into limp mode multiple times but the dealer can't duplicate the problem so they can't fix it. It started at 9,000 miles and it now has 14,000 miles. I'm pretty sure it's the throttle body but they won't replace it without a code. It has happened randomly from March 2017 until today 8-13-17. I also have a recording saved on my snap-on scan tool of the parameters at the time it went into limp mode.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at 55 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate without warning and lost power. The hill decent warning light illuminated. The failure recurred several other times. The vehicle was taken to the cella Ford dealer located at 3210 doctor M.L.K. jr blvd, new bern, nc 28562; (252) 638-4011 where the dealer was not able to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted and was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 7,700. The VIN was not available.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. While driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle accelerated and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was placed in neutral and coasted to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the dealer (russ-milne Ford, clinton township, Michigan) where it was diagnosed that the accelerator pedal was stuck to the carpet. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but did not provide a clear explanation of why it occurred. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000.
On Friday, March 31st, 2017 I was doing 65 mph on a freeway when I felt a jolt from the vehicle, all engine warning lights came on and I lost all throttle power to the engine via the gas pedal, I was left to helplessly coast to a stop over on the shoulder. I shut off the engine the restarted and was able to move off, then about 2 miles later at 35 mph the same thing happened again. I switched off and restarted and was then able to drive the 30 miles back home. I am taking it into Ford who are claiming no knowledge of this fault, but this is not true as there are many other people who have experienced the same thing as I found out when I found these urls www.carcomplaints.com/Ford/F-150/2016/engine/engine_stalls_dies_while_driving.shtmlwww.carcomplaints.com/Ford/F-150/2016/engine/engine.shtml it would appear to be the result of a bad electronic throttle body cover which Ford have not bothered to either acknowledge is a problem or endeavored to fix, so I am simply facing the prospect of them replacing the existing one with the same one that could fail again at any time as has been noted by other owners who have experienced this very frightening situation. Given the seriousness and potentially lethal consequences of this I demand Ford issue a recall and have this problem properly seen to. I already have the matter in the hands of my attorney and will, at the very least, be bringing an action against them under the nys lemon laws. It's barely 7 months old with about 7,000 miles on the clock as far as I'm concerned this vehicle is a total liability and unfit for purpose and serious action needs to be taken by Ford, firstly to acknowledge it as a known problem and then secondly instigating a recall to effectively correct the problem by upgrading and fixing the part at fault.
