The vehicle will downshift from any higher gear to first gear with no warning at any speed. the rear tires sqeal and the whole truck jolts. It is happening more often in the last month.
Date: July 5, 2021, roughly 5 pm Location: Interstate 40, heading west. Just east of the first exit for Shawnee OK I was driving with traffic, cruise set at 80 mph. Changed to left lane to pass a travel trailer and noticed traffic was getting heavier up ahead. I tapped the brake to cancel the cruise control, and the engine raced out of control. It was as if the accelerator was pressed to the floor. I used both feet on the brake to attempt to slow the pickup, was able to change back to the right lane, and managed to drive onto the shoulder and slam the truck into park. The racing engine never let up until the key was turned off. I did see that the cruise dash light was indicating that the cruise was off before I changed lanes. It is my belief that tapping the brake initiated the problem. Fortunately, no one was hurt, there was no accident. I can still see the children in the vehicle ahead of me when I try to go to sleep and I have nightmares of what could have happened. No problem the next day. We tried to create the situation when traffic was light, but have not experienced any problem with braking, tapping the brake, the cruise control, or unintended acceleration since then.
While driving the power to my speedometer would go out. Also the truck would increase in RPM's. the last time it happened the wheels locked up on me. In most cases the problem would be fixed once I turned the car off and re started it.
My son was driving his 2013 Ford F150 truck at 9:10pm on 4-25-21 and it suddenly downshifted which created a safety hazard.he said the RPM's went very high and the speed dropped instantly like an engine brake- thank goodness no one was closely following him. He was going at a slower city street speed on grande. We contacted the local dealership and had an appointment for 3 days later. The vehicle was in their shop all day and then the service guy called my son and said he needed to order a part and it would be an indefinite amount of time before the part arrived. My son specifically asked him is it safe to drive? he said yes but stay off the highway. I called the dealership this morning and was told that it was documented in the service notes that the vehicle is unsafe to drive and it could be 3 months before the part arrived. This is a 2013 Ford F150 and this is a known safety hazard- my sons truck has demonstrated the exact issue in the recall. The truck is unsafe to drive as documented in S notes - my son needs a car to drive to school and work. The dealership says people are driving them just be careful- safety recall is for a reason. I have called Ford customer service 3 times and they refer to the dealership to provided a loaner- they say they have none but on one service representatives desk there was note to "get a loaner for Ms. S". we parked the truck at the dealership and they have the key since it is unsafe to drive- they would not provide us in writing a statement it was safe or unsafe to drive.

While traveling at a speed of 80 mph on a major highway, the vehicle stalled due to the malfunction of the lead frame conductor/valve body which is a recalled part. With the help of a truck driver that saw me swerve due to the downshift, I was able to pull over. I had my two daughters (ages 8 & 4) in the vehicle with me.
Truck is hesitant to pull off as if brakes are stuck, idles high, jerks violently and seems as if it's losing power. I've been dealing with this issue for some time now and Liberty Ford maple has been 0 help resolving this issue. I've been hit from behind 2 times as well as multiple other close accidents due to this issue. I refuse to drive the freeway out of fear of a accident, which really affects my work. It's almost like I don't have a vehicle as I've been using family vehicles or renting.
Throttle stuck at wide open throttle and would not unstick despite multiple attempts. Foot braked vehicle to slow down, shifted to neutral, keyed off, coasted to rest. Upon restart truck goes straight to wide open throttle. No issues or accidents. Truck has experienced a failure with the throttle sensing/throttle position, no check engine light.
The vehicle has two "types" of problem that may be related. In some cases, the truck drops down into 1st gear regardless of the speed. This has happened three times since I picked up the truck following the attempted recall repair, but none of these incidences of dropping into 1st gear caused error codes to pop up. In another "type" of incident, the speedometer drops to zero even while in motion, and the vehicle stays in 3rd gear no matter the speed (including when not in motion, even after shifting into park and back to drive, the vehicle automatically jumps to 3rd gear before I even start to move). During this second type of incident, the airbag light came on, as did the wrench/check engine light. This second type of incident triggered many error codes: U0401:68-48 B00A0:68-08 U0401:00-08 P0722:00-68 U0401:86-08 U0401:00-08 U0401:68-08 B1083:07-08 U0423:00-28
Had safety recall 19S07 done on 4/6/2021 due to truck downshifting to 1st gear randomly. Reprogramming per the recall did not fix the issue, but truck is not displaying any of the required dtc's to be able to do the safety recall 19N01 even though truck is still downshifting to first gear randomly as well as loss of speedometer at times while driving. Truck also seems to sit in 3rd gear for a few seconds when at a complete stop. Dealership will not move forward on recall of lead frame until codes are displayed, even though the truck is showing all other symptoms as stated in 19N01
The vehicle drops into 1st gear for no reason, including when at high speed. This causes the rear wheels to skid and the vehicle to loose control. I have taken the vehicle to two Ford dealerships, and they have done the software update under recall 19S07, but the vehicle continues to have this problem. Both dealerships tell me they believe the lead frame needs to be replaced to fix the sudden downshifting, but Ford corporation refused to pay the cost of this repair because Ford corporation say the lead frame is not covered by the 19S07 recall unless there are "error codes" (which there are not, even though the truck has downshifted three times at speeds of about 35 mph since they "fixed" the software).
My wife, grandchild and I driving about 30 mph in icy conditions and truck shifts into 1st gear and had to control vehical to come to stop, I did nothing wrong, while driving, this is a serious safety issue, I drove the vehical the rest of wy on pins and needles.is there anything I can do to have this problem solved, thank you.
Going in motion on the turnpike at 70mph my truck down shifted to 2nd gear. After that the wrench and the airbag light came on the dashboard. The mileage erased and the speedometer stopped working. At a stationary red light my truck would show I was on 3rd gear. Fortunate for me I was by myself when this problem occurred but I could've been with my family and now I'm scared to drive my truck and even more scared to bring he family with me on my truck. That is the newest car in my house and would think it would be the most dependable but unfortunately it's not and I can't even afford to buy another car because I was affected by this pandemic. If I can sell the car back to the bank it would be great because I don't even feels safe bringing this car as the family truck.
The truck will suddenly down shift while driving. The is after completion of the recall in 2019. Three times the truck has skipped gears on breaking. Once while breaking to make a turn causing the truck to almost stall. Once going down a dirt hill causing the back wheels to lock up and slide. Didn't cause an accident. Once after going over a speed bump causing the truck to jerk suddenly and made the driver think they hit something.
Less than 24 hours after tsb 19S07 was performed on my truck, I was entering the freeway when check engine light, airbag light both turned on. Speedometer shut off, read 0, same with odometer. Vehicle refused to shift below 3rd gear. I then had to drive through a merge light to enter freeway and start from 3rd gear. I had to drive the 3 miles or so back home like this. Truck had no issues prior to the recall being done.
While driving from Ohio back to North Carolina, my wife and I were travelling at 75 mph when suddenly and without warning my truck abruptly stalled to 5 mph with no power from the accelerator. I managed to get the truck out of the high speed lane on a two lane highway and on to the side of the road. I turned the truck off. A few minutes later, I turned the truck back on and all function resumed. This has happened in the past, but when I took it in for work there was no issue reported or read and the error could not be replicated. The truck was towed to a Ford dealership. Service informed me I had a bad throttle body. This truck was part of a "customer satisfaction program" run in 2013 for a bad throttle body and total loss of acceleration. My truck received the repair in 2014 voiding the throttle body 10 year or 150,000 mile warranty. The safety concern remains and is endangering my life, my wife, and our future child. The part might be replaced without fixing the problem. An electrical issue may keep this vehicle having reoccurrences. This has me very concerned about a service that does not increase vehicle safety. And because of that concern I began to inquire if anyone else has had this issue. It turns out that in 2015 a class action suit was filed against Ford and settled on individual basises (janis benkle et al V Ford Motor Company). Currently, there are no programs to assist owners like myself in this situation. The original program is no longer valid and the repair performed was only good for one time (that repair apparently would not solve the safety concern as others have stated that the problem persisted after a new throttle body was put in). I have sought out an audience with the "zone manager". however, I have been informed that is impossible as customer care will not give that information and neither will the dealership.
Driving at 70mph, engine became weak, check engine light came on, transmission went to 5th gear, speedometer went to 0 though tachometer was still showing around 2,000 RPM. Airbag light came on. Truck wouldn't shift up or down. Came to a stop, transmission went to 3rd. Had to shut off truck and restart. This has happened 3 times in 1 month. I just purchased this truck three weeks prior to this occurrence.
