- How To Replace F150 Window Regulator - Gives step by step procedure for removing door panel and replacing or repairing the Motor/Regulator assembly

As I was rolling up my drive side power window when the window reached the top I heard a LOUD pop and the shatter of glass! The window did not fall down until I hit the down switch and when I did the window fell down the door. I would have bet $100 the bottom of the window was cracked or broken but to my disbelief after I removed the door panel the window was not damaged! I then proceeded to inspect for root cause. After a few minutes of inspection I noticed the cable was out of place on the power window motor pulley. I tried to realign the cable in the grooves of the pulley but to no avail. I then removed the window regulator assembly. After the regulator was removed I was able to install the cable correctly on the pulley. During installation of the assembly I was installing the cable to the "clip" on the bottom of the window and noticed I found the root cause of failure. The end of the cable pulled through the plastic clip which explained the LOUD pop and glass cracking/shattering sound. As the cab was yanked through the clip, the cable whipped and hit the glass window which caused the broken glass sound. So I thought to myself, "This will be an easy fix. I'll just loosen the bolt, slip the clip off the window and replace it" This was where I was wrong! I called the local Ford dealer ship and described the part that failed. After a couple of minutes he came back and said, "I don't know why Ford does this buy you have to buy the whole window to get the clip." I didn't know what to say. I didn't even ask the price because I thought it was EXTREMELY stupid I have to buy the window for these clips that are obviously serviceable (not glued to the window)!! I then told myself I'll just do a little research and find this piece I need on the internet. I was wrong here as well. I've done a couple of hours of research and cannot find this part anywhere. How freakin' stupid is it that you have to buy the whole freakin' window to get a freakin' clip that is bolted to the window?! It's like saying if need to replace your tires you have to buy them installed on the rims!!!! Give me a break! Ford, I'm a little disappointed.
