Tread separation was discovered upon inspection for a odd feeling with the tires on my pick up in April of 2000. They were replaced at that time and I was in contract with firstone the next day in regards to this. Final outcome was nothing by Firestone, I have been in commection with Firestone, since it was in the news and became public info. That they were having a problem, I do have copies of all documentations I had with Firestone in regards to this.my tire size was not one that was listed. All four of my tires showed tread separation, all same milage, all had aprox. 5/32, and 6/32 of tread left on tires.no damage to truck, were replaced before that could happen. Please contract me if addition information is needed. (dot number: W208ipt377 tiresize: P235/70R16)
Complete tread separation while driving between 55-60mph. Truck veered across road onto shoulder. Damage estimates to truck between $2,000-2,500. The only reason this did not result in an accident was there was little traffic at the time. This tread separation appears identical to those of Firestone tires. Tread on this tire came comepletely off tire at a high rate of speed. Tires were inflated to proper level and outside temperature was approximately 75 degrees. Only reason there were no serious injuries was the fact that tire continued to hold air until I could slow the vehicle down. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have walked away from this. Tread separating from carcass. Took to Firestone retailer and was told this size is not covered by current recall. As a truck driver I know from experience the sight, sound, and feel of tire tread separating from the steel belts...a tire literaly coming apart at the seams!! Firestone should be heks accountable for all of their tire failures!! (dot number: W208ipt497 tiresize: P235/70R16)
Two of my Firestone tires have cracks in between the tread. With what has been going on with Firestone and Ford this make me feel very uncomfortable. Most of the tires all around my size have been dealt with which make the situation worse. I have contacted Firestone and they have acted like they could care less, but I think the problem should be dealt with before something happens. I take care of my vehicle like it is my child and for something to happen that isnT my fault and for the manufacturer to act as they do doesnT make me feel to well. How should I deal with this?
