On October 4th 2024, I was driving my vehicle, when I came to a red light I stopped. The vehicle starting shaking pretty significantly. It was a scary moment. Not sure of what it was I decided I better go home in case it was something serious. I started smelling a burning smell as I got closer to home. I always back into my driveway so when I got home, I put the car in reverse and stepped on the accelerator and nothing happened. I really got scared then, I kept pressing the accelerator as I was blocking the street just sitting there. The car slowly started to go in reverse with the pedal almost to the floor.
I had AAA tow the vehicle to a transmission shop. They called me back the next day and told me a need a new transmission and quoted me the price of $6,200.00. I called Ford for an estimate, they gave me the labor price but I have not heard back from parts on the cost of the transmission. I have been the only owner of the vehicle and I keep up on regular maintenance. The mileage is approximately 110,000. I called Ford Customer relations and filed a complaint. I hope to hear back soon. The transmission shouldn't go out this soon. I am very frustrated.
