The airbag warning light has been on for approximately a month and finally had a chance to have Ford troubleshoot the cause while in for the exhaust system recall, as well as having to replace a failed blenddoor motor and look at an automatic tailgate issue. A local Ford dealership identified that the car had a defective airbag restraint control module that is associated with the rear factory wiring harness with the vehicles equipped with rear inflatable seat belts. The car has 61,000 miles. The warranty expired at 60,000. I bought it certified pre owned but unfortunately the bumper to bumper coverage is only 12 months or 12,000 miles and I've had it for 14 months. Ford informed me that it is a known issue but will not submit a recall on this known failed SRS component design and will cost me over $550 to fix. They have an internal technical bulletin with the corrective action as a new factory designed wiring harness. I am completely at a loss that this is a safety issue and well known, yet Ford refuses to recall.

Vehicle under SRS warranty, 5 year -60,000 mile warranty and airbag light illuminates. Taken to dealer and complaint with Ford. Notified it is a bad connector in the rear seat to inflatable seatbelt airbags. Airbag system will not work unless replaced. Not covered under warranty. This is a known Ford issue with tsbs issued and is a safety issue since SRS system will not work. This is a safety issue that Ford is ignoring.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Explorer. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer to have diagnostic testing performed. The test located failure codes at the rear passenger air bag sensor and the rear driver's air bag sensors wiring system. The dealer advised that, in the event of a crash, the rear passenger and rear driver's air bags may not deploy. The dealer replaced the rear passenger and rear driver's air bag sensors. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 48,000.

For a significant amount of the vehicle's life, the airbag light has illuminated a majority of the time. I did not believe this was an issue as I was instructed that a light would come on if the vehicle thought something/someone was in the passenger seat, but did not meet minimum weight requirements. It has come to my attention when my vehicle was in for a non-related repair, that this is not the case and that the light actually indicates a fault with the airbag system. So I have been driving around for probably 40,000 miles with faulty airbags in the car in which I am the original owner. I called Ford who expressed little to zero concern until I let them know I would be filing a complaint. According to the dealer, the issue is that the connectors are corroded (the indication was multiple connectors are corroded). This seems like a really big issue - I live in Oregon, so not quite a dry climate, but it's not abnormal. The person I spoke to at Ford was named "ann"

The airbag warning light have been coming on intermittently. The car has been in the shop several times for the problem and Ford had been unable to identify the cause. On November 27, 2017, a Ford dealership identified that the car had a defective airbag restraint control module. The car has 60,472 miles. The warranty expired at 60,000. Ford has not offered to extend any sort of warranty relief even though the car is 472 miles outside of the warranty. My husband was in a front-end collision in July 2017. Although the car that he hit was totalled, the airbags in our Ford did not deploy, a fact that shocked many people considering the damage to the other car. I am shocked that when the car was in the Ford dealership after the accident that they did not work to explain the airbag failure.

My Explorer has an intermittent airbag light that comes on and goes off. I've taken it into the dealer and they never find anything wrong; but the issue persists. I'm concerned an airbag may inflate incorrectly or not at all in an emergency.

Our 2014 Ford Explorer Sport has suddenly lost its power steering making it very difficult to drive and has a tendency to jerk the wheel left and right when driving. This I'm told is not under warranty and will cost approximately $1800 to fix. I believe the three years prior to mine had the same problem and were recalled. The Explorer has not been in any accidents and has 73K miles. The airbag light also came on when the steering issue started however the Ford service department said that it was unrelated and that would be another expense after the steering was repaired.

We were driving down a rural road beginning to slow down, when the car did not slow down, it.went at fullspeed while hitting the brakes. Then hitting a tree head on, causing a fatality. I did not.want the car destroyed, because I wanted a full investigation performed on the cause and the tps. I only received a blackbox info with limited info showing vehicle speed at crash. The only thing slowing vehicle was a ditch and the tree. Also driver side belt came unattatched as well as middle passenger. Only driver air bag and one.passenger airbag deployed.

In June 6/2016, my was was going 35mph, approaching an intersection when the wrench light followed by the "terrain management fault" warning came on. The vehicle lost all power. Traffic coming from her right received the green light and she was nearly killed by a driver who drove through the light, timing it for when it turned green. The vehicle spent 14.5 days at the palm bay Ford dealership in palm bay Florida were it was purchased new. Ford diagnosed the problem as a defective throttle body. I went online and saw the number of these throttle body failures and contacted the Ford customer service hotline. I explained to them I felt the vehicle was unsafe, that I had no confidence in the vehicle, and that if there had been no design change to the throttle body it would happen again. I was given a case number (which has now been closed), and notes of my concerns were made on the case. On 10/11/2016 I at 1530 edt, I was pulling out of a gas station turning right, with traffic approaching from my left. The wrench light came on followed by the "terrain management system fault" alert. The vehicle lost all power (throttle response) and the approaching traffic had to lock up their brakes to avoid a broadside collision!. I had my wife, 10yr old daughter and 12yr old son in the vehicle with me. Had a collision occurred my son would have been seriously injured. The vehicle went back to the palm bay Ford service department 10/12/2016 at 0900 edt. The throttle body had failed again as predicted, the vehicle is still there. I have contacted the Ford customer service hotline and received two case numbers now. 1: cas-10814941-Q8T7Z5, 2: cas-10830198. I tried to get Ford to take the car back and trade in on a new one as this is an "unsafe"vehicle. They will not help us and this throttle body issue is an epidemic! I am sure there has been lose of life from these "unsafe" vehicles?

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Explorer. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 5 mph, the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver without warning. As the contact applied force to the steering wheel in order to steer the vehicle, the vehicle suddenly jerked to the side. As a result, the contact crashed into the rear end of another vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. Upon inspection, the contact noticed that the lower control arm in the front of the vehicle had fractured. The contact sustained minor bruises and the rear passenger sustained minor neck bruises that required medical attention. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the control arm needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 18,500.
