I have contacted Bridgestone/Firestone and they just give you lip service and then I contacted sunrise Ford and they just take your name and phone# and tell ya they will call ya when they get tires in. But they don't know what kind and when they will get them, so you drive on these inferiorer tires and still take the risk of getting kill. You people need to shake rattle these co. I have had a blow out on one of the recalled tires. Obviously there is a danger of another one going, but I can't get anybody to talk to me(Firestone and Ford). They say I have to wait my turn. I stil have the shredded tire. I would think this would merit some kind of priority.luckily nobody was hurt, but who knows next time?( dot number: 027477 tire size: P235/75R15 )
Vehicle rides unstable at speeds of 55mph or greater, particularly on the freeway. Vehicle aggersively tracks and sways. Vehicle also overeacts when sudden move to the right or left is necessitated to avoid obstruction in the road or collision with another vehicle. Alignment has been inspected 3 times and ruled out as the cause of the problem. New eddie bauer and XLT model Explorer were also test driven with the dealer (homer heller Ford) and found to have the same problem as subject limited. All have Firestone widlerness at tires stock from factory. Problem, therefore is not specific to model of Explorer, 4WD versus 2wd, or size of wheel (15" versus 16").( dot number: Vncu-1px tire size: P255/70R16 )

I own a 1999 Ford Explorer, which was purchased in April of 1999. In early may of 1999, the front driver's side tire blew out from the side wall (two 8-10 inch rips, not a puncture) while driving 65 mph South on I-5 near san onofre power station in ca( dot number: ? tire size: P235/75R15 )
I was traveling on the 280 freeway in san francisco traveling at 70 mph. I noticed the back of the vehicle started to sway to the side and the wheel of the vehicle was agile. After about a minute, I pulled to the side of the road. I walked to the rear of the vehicle and noticed that the right rear tire was completely torn apart. I am now concerned because of the recent recall of the Firestone tires. However, my tires were not manufactured at the Decatur( dot number: Tire size: P235/75R15 )
The tires have multiple stress cracks around the tread area on all four tires. I have been to 2 Firestone dealers as well as the car dealer and they would not even check them. I was told they were not involved in the recall. I understand that this is the wrong tire number, but my tires look unsafe. This tire has been recalled in other countries and other complaints have been filed regarding this tire. I have contacted many sources and was told not to drive at high speeds or when the weather is hot. That is not a solution. I look forward to your help with this matter.( dot number: Uncu1px368 tire size: P255/70R16 )
I have been confirmed by Ford that I have the recalled tires but I have to wait 5-6 months for new ones? I don't understand how I am supposed to drive around with sound mind on tires that are known to be life threatening. I want to know if I have any recourse or any legal stance to get out of my car.( dot number: )
My seventeen year old son, my only child has a 1999 Ford Explorer. He recently had a blow-out on one of the Firestone Wilderness AT (P255/7016) tires. He was very, very fortunate in that he nor any of his three passengers were injured. They had just exited off a 4-lane 65mph highway and were near ing a residential area. There is no explaination as to why the tire exploded. We contacted the dealer but, they offered no help. A few days later we began to here of a possible recall. We then contacted the dealer again, however, they explained that the 16 inch tires on my son's Explorer is not part of the recall. Please document this potentially fatal incident concerning the Firestone tire. I am very concernered. My child's safety is my greatest concern! we have had an incident with a tire now listed on your consumer advisory dated Sept 1,2000. If you advised a recall, how can they refuse" how many lives need to be lost before they agree" again I ask please document this complaint and push for total recall of all Firestone wilderness tires.( dot number: W2cu1px488 tire size: P255/70R16 )

I am wondering if any other tires are being added to the Firestone/Ford recall. My reasons for inquiry are very serious in nature. On May 05, 2000, while looking out the rear view mirror of my Ford mustang, I watched my wife roll our 1999 Ford Explorer Sport on the freeway at about 55 miles per hour. After my wife hit an object in the roadway, she began skidding perpendicular to the flow of traffic. While skidding, both driver's side tires blew out and initiated several complete rolls. The vehicle was totaled and I expected my wife would be dead. Luckily, she was wearing her seatbelt and did not sustain any serious physical injury. The tires on our Explorer were P235/70R 15 OWL A/T. 21 century in our insurance and the policy # is AP1295570. I want to know if these tires might also be faulty. Please respond at your earliest convienence.( dot number: Tire size: P235/70R15 )

PE00-020; tires size 23575R15, dot vnhl1pl358, original equipment with Ford Explorer, 1999, 21000 miles on it. Consumer took vehicle to get inspected at Firestone, and was told that front driver's side tire tread was separating, and have developed cracks all around the tread. Also, other 3 tires started to peel, rubber was peeling off. Firestone did not replace tires becasue it was not part of recall.
While driving 40 mph when vehicle had pressure from rear, and lost control of vehicle. Stepping on the brakes made vehicle lose control further. Vehicle rolled over about three times because three of the tires had a blownout. Firestone, Wilderness AT tires.
I inspected the tires after recent recall and noticed a symmetrical pattern of cracks on all four tires where the tread meets the sidewall. I have called Ford and Firestone multiple times and neither are interested in non recalled tires. I have to replace the tires after 23 000 miles (they have plenty of tread depth), as an inspection by a Firestone dealer declared they are damaged and are unsafe. I would like to turn the tires over to your Agency for inspection if you are interested. Thanks.( dot number: 026555 tire size: 255/70R16 )
While driving on the freeway at 70 mph the rear tire began to shake and the car began to swerve. I slowed down to find that the tire had shred all the way around. I drove it to the side were I contacted Ford roadside assistance @ 3:00 am. I took it into the nearest Firestone to get a replacement. He could not find a reason why this had happened no cuts in the tire just seperation. According to my warranty I should have gotten a free replacement because of a defect the manager refused because he assumed the tire was not properly inflated I paid for a new tire.( dot number: Tire size: 23575R15 )
Tires developed a loud roar. Air pressure varied from 32lbs. To 18. Vehicle does not feel as stable as other Explorer that I have had with different type of tires. Conway Ford says the tires were not made in ill. And do not need to be replaced. I feel that these tires are not safe and am afaid to drive on them.( dot number: E4027477 tire size: P235-75R15 )
