The left side front tire have been replaced 3 times due to excessive wear, the right side front tire has been replaced once due to excessive wear, the vehicle has been aligned many times to correct the problem, however the tires still continue the wear pattern, no name or size of tire was given, the problem could be the tires or the suspension.
Consumer replaced Firestone Wilderness AT tires (P235/75R15) dot# W2hl due to safety concerns regarding the tires, consumer is requesting reimbursement.
My tires appeared as if cats had scratched them. The sidewalls of the tires were peeling off. I returned these tires and have just been informed these were not the tire in question. I was informed that I would not get any money back. The tires in question were obviously dangerous. I, also, just had a set of twins and want only the safest for my children. Does it take someone to get killed to get reinbursement? I did the right thing by getting those tires off of my vehicle. Please respond as soon as possible. Consumer replaced Firestone Wilderness AT tires (P235/75R15) dot# W2hl due to safety concerns regarding the tires, consumer is requesting reimbursement.
These tires started, the same type of cracking as did the 15"tires. We went to the Ford dealer and to a Firestone dealer, the only thing they kept telling us was that the cracking was normal.and that there wasn't anything they could do, because they were not the tires being recalled. I travel @ 200 miles a day, and we also have a, now 10 mo. Old grandchild. We purchased some Goodyear tires for the safefty of our family and fot peace of mind. We kept a close watch on the tires, and the cracks where increasing in size. We video taped the tires and have in on tape. We feel that Firestone/ Ford, should reimburse us for the proration of the purchase of the new tires. And we feel that, NHTSA, should investigate and examine and if need be recall these other tires. Thank you, feel free to contact us, and veiw the video tape. Frank bosze E.( dot number: Vncu 1px tire size: 255/70R/16 )

Tires: Developed a vibration as though there was a bump on a tire on the vehicle. I had this checked on several occasions at the dealership and at the Firestone store in our area. The dealership tells me everytime I take it in that the tires need rotated. These tires must have been rotated on 10 different occasions by either myself or the dealership. This does not change the bumping but did seem to alter the origination point of the vibration. Brakes: The brakes continue to squeel and on two occasions faded as though there were no brakes. The dealership states they can't find the problem. This was checked several times. 4WD: The computer would throw the 4WD in and out of operation while driving down the road at any speed. At first the dealership could not find the problem. Later they determined that it was the computer. It still appears to do this on occasion but it is difficult to tell with the other bumps and vibrations caused by the tires. Both the dealership and Firestone have looked at the tires which still have good tread and stated they were fine. All of these have been present since the vehicle was new and have been checked on numerous occasions throughout our ownership. This is a leased vehicle. Otherwise it would be gone!( dot number: Tire size: P235/75R15 )

Coming to stop, pulling into parking space, and about to apply brakes when vehicle accelerated/ surged foward at a high rate speed, causing vehicle to go over concrete porch, knocked over 6 pole, and hit wall of restaurant. During acceleration consumer slammed on brakes, but vehicle would not stop until 5-6 feet later. Firestone Wilderness AT tires caused trauble to the consumer and had to be replaced by bf good rich tires.
Tire is the in spare position, all other firestones were replaced when I purchased the vehicle. Spare is full of cracks and was never on the road. It is not part of the current recall.( dot number: )
Firestone tires were cupping causing vibration in the steering, excessive noise and rough ride, consumer tires are not included in the recall but he believes they should be. Nlm
I understand that these tires were not made at the decauter plant, howerer, the tires are splitting and seperating at the letters and just above the letters they are cracking. The local dealer was the one that brought this to my attention. I tried to contact the manufactor but the advised me that they could not help me because the tires are not on the recall. My wife drives this truck 100 miles round trip daily to work and I am concerned for her safety. Please help us for we do not have the money to purchase new tires and feel that we shouldn't have to. Thanks robert edwards. (dot number: E4 02 7477 tiresize: P235-75R15)
No failure yet but poor handling and visible cracking. Firestone dealers will not certify as to being safe, nor will they replace the tires. I will replace, but I want Firestone to pay for my new tires. (tiresize: 255/70/16)( dot number: Tire size: 255/70/16 )
On Monday Oct 16, 2000 I was driving home from work on the freeway when the right rear tire blew out. I was in the far left lane traveling approximately 56 mph. When I heard the tire blow I immediately took my foot off the accelerator pedal and allowed the vehicle to coast to about 30 mph. Then I proceeded to use the brakes and change lanes to the right so I could get onto the shoulder and put the spare tire on the vehicle. I am suprised I didn't damage the rim by driving on it. Fortunatley no one was injured and no accident resulted from this incident. The next morning I drove by a Firestone dealer to complain but they were closed so I went to bob turner's Ford country and had them replace all the tires on the vehicle. When I called Firestone on Tuesday the 17th, I was told that I either had a flat tire or a low tire and that is what caused the blow out. I know that is not true because I check the air pressure in my tires every Sunday because I travel approximately 40 miles a day on the freeway. And the tire shows no signs of a puncture wound. The tire blew out on the sidewall and there is no damge to any part of the tread area or surface area that would be in contact with the road. It is just my opinion, but I believe this was a total tire failure and that Firestone should reimburse me for the cost of replacing the tires. It is my understanding that these tires are not currently on the recall list, but I think they need to be included in the investigation and recalled before more people are injured or killed. Also, in an earlier part of this form you asked for the dot code. It is very hard to read on the tire, but I believe that what I entered is correct. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at the numbers or E-mail address listed above in this form. Thank you. Al petrova (dot number: Vncu tiresize: P255/70R16)
