Coming to stop, pulling into parking space, and about to apply brakes when vehicle accelerated/ surged foward at a high rate speed, causing vehicle to go over concrete porch, knocked over 6 pole, and hit wall of restaurant. During acceleration consumer slammed on brakes, but vehicle would not stop until 5-6 feet later. Firestone Wilderness AT tires caused trauble to the consumer and had to be replaced by bf good rich tires.
Speed control cable was replaced for recall 99V062000/ manufacturer's 99S09. After vehicle came from dealer ABS light came on & stayed on. ABS light didn't come on until speed control cable was replaced.

It went through the stop sign almost to the mid point of the intersection, but fortunately no traffic was approaching from other directions. The throttle did disengage when I gave it more gas.

After seeing information about recalls, inspected the tires and found out that left rear tire had three cuts on it. Consumer was concerned. Firestone, wilderness, P235/75 R15, dot vd. Cruise control malfunctioned. Hood latch was loose. Windshield wiper malfunctioned.
While driving vehicle stalled and died. Driver applied brakes and vehicle would surge suddenly. Dealer has inspected the vehicle and replaced wires. Problem has reoccurred.
Upon pickup of vehicle after recall repair (00V-072), (99V-062), (99V-123), (99V-164) consumer notice a dent and scratched paint on the door of the vehicle.
When the vehicle is started cold, with foot on brake and transmission in drive, the vehicle starts moving while the brake is still depressed, and will not stop. Nlm
Cruise control cable parts are not available at this time per notice, however dealership switched cables from another vehicle (incorrect) recall repair.(99V-062).
When coming to a stop, the engine would go into rapid acceleration and the rpms would go way up. The truck would continue to move forward even when apllying the brakes. The truck would only stop when the driver puts the truck in park and completely turn truck off. Dealer could not determine the cause of the problem. The truck was a rental from enterprise.
Vehicle was struck by another vehicle (a passenger car) in the left rear quarter (at the rear tire). Vehicle was being accelerated at the time to attempt to avoid pending collsion. Upon impact accelerator stuck; SUV accelerated across two lanes oif traffic & plowed into a dirt embankment. Collision with embankment was head on. This secondary collision is cause of damage to SUV leading to it being totaled by the insurance company. SUV did not respond to brakes during short acceleration period between intial impact (from other vehicle) and final impact with the embankment.
April 20,1999 consumer purchased vehicle without speed control cable which was not told to consumer during the purchase. On May 28,1999 dealer installed an old speed control cable into the vehicle without consumer knowing which could have resulted in an accident / injury. However, the old cable was still installed, but the dealer installed the new cable to ensure compliance with recall notice (99V062000).
Consumer is having difficulty receiving recall repairs (99S09 99V-062) not completed due to lack of parts, (99S18 99V-164) due to scheduling problems with the dealership. Mjs
NHTSA recall 99V-062 001/speed control cable: Consumer purchased this vehicle on 31 May 99. Less then two week later, consumer received a recall notice. Dealer indicated tha the was not responsible for repairing this recall before consumer dropped vehicle off at dealer's lot. Can NHTSA provide further information.
Consumer received recall, #99S09, concerning spped control failure. Recall repairs were done on June 16,1999. But, on June 30, 1999, consumer activated cruise control and it stuck at 70 mph, causing brakes to burn out while trying to stop vehicle from accelerating. Dealer has been contacted.
