Left rear tire would lose air along with the other tires. Left rear tire was only the one that had cracks all around tires, near the tread & casing. Would hear a lot of noise coming from tires when driving. Taking vehicle to Firestone retailer to check & have exchange. Firestone, Wilderness AT, dot vnhl P235/75R15 with 39,000 miles. Two or three tires had separation cracks along edge of the tread and side wall.
While driving 60mph & heard a thump noise before tread on the left rear tire came off. Looked at a recap tire. It hit the side fender well. Tire was still inflated at the time. Do not have the tire. Had put the spare tire on in its place. Firestone, Wilderness AT P235/75R15 with 100,000 miles.
Tire was knocking, took SUV in to Firestone dealer, they told me the tread had separated. (it had not yet departed the tire). (dot number: W2hlipy157 tiresize: P235/75R15)
Consumer recieved recall 00T-005 for Firestone tires which were replaced prior to recall notification, three were replaced because of uneven wear and tire noise, the other two had been replaced prior to this time because of wear, the recall reimbursement plan fails to address the period of time in which consumer replaced his tires. Consumer Firestone wilderness (P235/75R15) tires are not under recall notice but consumer experienced tread separation on three of the four tires one of which experienced a blowout resulting in damage to the vehicle, consumer replaced all four tires and request reimbursement. Nlm
The front Firestone tires were completely worn on the inside and the steel belts were visible, the tread was separating from the tire, consumer replaced all four tires and request reimbursement. Nlm
Consumer vehicle experienced a blowout prior to recall notice 00T-005 and consumer replaced all four tires and requested reimbursement but Firestone denied reimbursement because the tires were purchased prior to January 1, 2000. Nlm
Original tire on Ford, Explorer Sport, 1997, P255/70R16 (provide dot). One of the tires, consumer does not no which one, had slits all around the tire. Ford would not replace tires because they were not part of the recall, consumer replaced tires and is requesting reimbursement.

Same time as recall checked tires and found cracking on all four tires cove Ford in fort hood tx said they would not help went to gentellini was told they were dry rot. These tires are only 3 years old was not driven off road and all four are damaged. Also I have come to find out that I only have a 15 inch temp spare tire how can I use that with my other tires being 16 inch? I do not have the $500 or more to replace these tires and don't understand how all four tires dry rot at the same time (dot number: W2cu1px tiresize: P255/70R16)

All four tires are cracked at the tread line, consumer replaced them on 11-Aug-00 before they fell apart. Tires made in Canada & 3 different dealers said they were defective, there is still 8/32 tire tread on all 4 tires (Firestone Wilderness AT P235/7-15).
The Firestone wilderness tire blew out and caused the ins to loss control. Firestone radial ATX were also on vehicle. V1 had a tire blow out. This caused the vehicle to flop over. Insured would like an investigation of the vehicle and the tires. According to insured, a lawsuit may be filed against the tire manufacturer. (claim# 53-C563-980)
