Faulty engine design leads to head gasket failure, engine misfire and stall. Engine stall can cause loss of vehicle motive and braking by loss of vacuum assisted braking. Dealer just completed service on this vehicle and reported the failure after completing repair on another defective part, the flexplate assembly. After completing repairs advised it likely has coolant intrusion issue. Did not inform customer about the TSB showing FORD determined the block is defective and should be replaced at customer cost. Ford has known about this issue since about 2011. These engines need to be recalled. Repair data available to mechanics and on popular video sites show that Fords updated block removes two water paths that interfere with head gasket seating on 2015 - 2019 Ford Edge 2.0L EcoBoost engines. This is a known manufacturer defect that puts owners and occupants in uneeded danger due to Ford's refusal to recall and rectify these engines. There are multiple reports of these engines failing for this issue with as few as 30,000 miles. This engine is also installed in multiple other Ford and Lincoln vehicles including focus, fusion, taurus, Escape, edge, mkz, mkc, and nautilus.

Rear Brake hose ruptured resulting in Brake Pedal going to the floor and reduced braking ability

Back left break line suddenly ruptured causing immediate inability to use breaks. I was parked and went to apply the breaks before putting the vehicle into drive when I noticed the break pedal went to the floor. I slowly moved the vehicle to a parking place and the brake fluid light came on and I was hardly able to stop. There is a recall for the front break lines but not the back lines.

Brakes failed and car rolled forward while stopped at a traffic light because of right rear brake line failure. This is the THIRD brake line failure on this vehicle. The first two were left and right front hoses, which ended up being subject of a recall, but only after I had mine fail and repaired. To this date, Ford has refused to reimburse me for those repairs.

I have a warranty with Jones Junction Kia. I couldn't take my truck anywhere else. The engine light kept coming on and going off. Well I got all the maintenance as needed however. I was told that when any Ford reaches almost 100000 miles that it's a defect that coolant leaks into the engine. Well I never heard such. Come to fine out? The adjusters had to tell the mechanics what was wrong because they couldn't understand what was happening with my truck. The adjusters said my engine needed to be replace because of several other Fords are habi g this same issue. They also repaired my brakes. Jones Kia twice within a 2 month span. And the brake light came on and stayed on. If you need more details ols contact me.

Started months ago on the highway, now in the streets too. Press the gas, car goes then suddenly loses power. Going at 60 mph on highway, car suddenly starts to go slow, and pressing the gas doesn't move the car not even a mile higher. Semi trucks begin to honk horns at you. Afraid now to take highway again. Soon as I exit highway, press the gas and the car doesn't want to shift, almost as if it gets stuck. Continue driving on street and when turning, the car doesn't want to go. Ford had it for 3 days but didn't find anything. Have read posts and found one person with same issue that said it's code 2111, having to do with the throttle. So many people with the same issue and no recalls. It's dangerous to drive on highway now.

I have issue with brake hoses rupture while driving and loose brake capability (as Ford did not include all VINs affected I had to paid for repair, now they issue Customer Satisfaction Program 22N02 and they do not want to refund). NHTSA must make sure Ford is responsible for their issues on a safety topic as they are clearly not being.

In September/October of 2022 my passenger side right real break line ruptured. Not even a month later my front right brake line ruptured. Today my left rear brake line ruptured. All 3 times my pedal went to the floor, making it dangerously difficult to actually stop my car endangering my life and the lives of those around me on the road. No light has come on to indicate there's a problem with my braking system, any of the 3 times that this has occurred.

A 3nd flexible brake line blew out and I lost my brakes for the 3nd time on this vehicle. The first two lines that blew out were both left and right front. This 3rd one was in the rear and as a result I instructed my mechanic to replace both rear lines. Again and luckily no one was injured or crash occurred as a result of this failure which put my wife and I at a great risk. We were able to slowly and carefully bring the car to our mechanic immediately thus no tow was required. No police or first responders were needed. There was no indication of failure until the brake pedal went immediately all the way to the floor. This is my third filing report and the story is the same for the prior cases of 11512958 and 11512963.

The contact owns a 2016 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 MPH and turning into a parking lot, the contact depressed the brake pedal however, the vehicle failed to stop immediately. The contact applied an excessive amount of pressure to the brake pedal and the pedal went to the floorboard before the vehicle stopped. The contact continued driving to the residence. After parking the vehicle, the low brake fluid warning light illuminated. The contact attempted to add brake fluid and became aware that the fluid level was not low. The contact noticed that the brake was still malfunctioning. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and noticed and became aware that there was brake fluid underneath the rear of the vehicle. The dealer diagnosed that the brake hose needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The dealer confirmed that the failure was like NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V469000 (Service Brakes, Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

My parking brake, ABS, and Traction Control (ESC) warning lights all illuminate even when not engaged (Parking Brake states engaged even while driving.) Traction Control (ESC) on/off indicators illuminate opposite of engagement/unengagement (no correlation between.) Identical symptoms from NHTSA recall #16V733000. My car was manufactured right during that timeframe when my make/model/year were deemed loaded with improper ABS/ESC computer software. I brought it into Ford repeatedly and it was incorrectly diagnosed as a faulty E-Brake switch, only to give me my vehicle back and E-Brake could not be unengaged while they returned me the keys in the lot. They looked at it again and stated my ABS Module was broken causing my parking brake actuators to now be faulty resulting in my rear rotors to be worn down to unsafe driving levels. The best reason they could give me for a faulty ABS Module was "lightning strike." I called Ford Customer Care and asked if my car was overlooked in this recall before sold to me and they originally said it was (told me it was manufactured in Ontario, Canada) but then called back to tell me it wasn't one of the vehicles affected. I am deafly afraid that my braking system will fail as I am driving.

The contact owns a 2016 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 mph when attempting to apply the brakes, however, the brakes were spongy then floored. The contact was able to coast to the nearest mechanic who diagnosed that the front brake line had fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact then stated that while there daughter was driving she experienced the same failure. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic a second time who diagnosed that the rear passenger brake line had fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and informed the contact that in order to be included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V469000 (Service Brakes, Service Brakes, Hydraulic) they had to report to NHTSA and that there were no recalls regarding the rear brakes. The approximate failure mileage was 97,000.

Driving home after dropping my kids off to school slowing down for a red light, all of a sudden the brake pedal goes limp, car barely responds afterwards... I start pumping the pedal like crazy and yanking the E brake lever and barely stop before hitting someone... Car has been in the dealership (North Central Ford in Richardson, TX) 2 or 3 times since 2020; one for a transmission bushing recall I believe, and brake line was NEVER mentioned. They showed each instance for service in their system to me on their monitor, and showed that it never appeared to the service techs for them to inform me of the recall. They said they didn't know why it wouldn't show up. Ford really dropped the ball here, the only thing that saved me was quick thinking on the e-brake.
