CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2015 Ford Edge has a trend of the engine dying while driving, which is typically considered a safety issue.
Owners report the stalling while driving problem is caused by the throttle body needing replacement. The problem typically occurs at low mileage & so the issue has been covered under warranty -- although by now, the 2015 Edge is generally past the full warranty period.

While parked in my home garage, about 3-5 min after turning off my vehicle, the back window exploded and shattered. The explosion was loud enough to be heard throughout the inside the house with the garage door shut. Time was approximately 8:30 pm. Prior to parking the car I had commuted approximately 7 miles from work. I did use the front and rear defrost for approximately 5 minutes of the commute, but had switched to normal auto temperature control for most of the drive. It was about 35 degrees outside.
The back section of the panoramic sunroof glass has developed a crack. No obvious external strike. The vehicle is parked inside in a tempered environment. When searching for glass replacement, I found a number of similar complaints.
Hello I have a 2015 Ford Edge titanium with the panorama sunroof and it cracked for no apparent reason! the vehicle only had 49000 miles when I purchased it and it cracked with me only have put a few thousand miles on it! I never open the sunroof and I had took it to the Ford dealership I bought it from and the extended warranty will not cover it! I had taken it to a glass company to see if they could figure out why it cracked and they seem no impact marks anywhere. They said that the glass had failed from either heat or a imperfection in the glass. So I got online and was researching if anyone else has had the problem and there are a lot of people that have had the same issue! some people reported it having happened to them multiple times. Thank you for reading this I believe something needs to be done to get this fixed right!
On the evening of November 9, 2019, I was driving home from my dad's house. This is a 2 hour drive. I was heading West, and the sun was bothering me, so I moved the passenger sun visor to block the sun. When doing so, the visor accidentally hit the button which then opened the roof to reveal the sunroof (glass). I was fine with this since it was a nice day. After around 20-30 minutes I looked up and saw a couple of wavy lines on the sunroof glass, running vertically from hood-end to back. I thought possibly it was tar from the road which maybe had flown up on my roof. After a while, I became more curious about the wavy lines, so looked more closely. There was in fact 3 wavy lines (cracks) running vertically down the larger section of the sunroof glass, which then meet up with a horizontal wavy crack. I was shocked and dismayed. I rarely open the sunroof, so had no idea the cracks were there, how or when they occurred. My husband and I had hand washed the car approximately 1 month ago, and did not see these wavy cracks at all. After returning home, I researched the Ford Edge sunroof on the internet. It was there that I found that many many other Ford Edge owners have experienced these same odd wavy crack(s) in their sunroofs. Obviously this is no coincidence. And the fact that these cracks are wavy, makes sense that they were caused by stress, and more than likely are being caused by a manufacturer's design flaw. I ask, along with many other Ford Edge owners, for you to please research this problem. By no fault of my own did this occur. And since so many other owners are experiencing the same problem, we all ask your assistance to have Ford Motor Co. Reimburse us for the repair.

Wavy pattered cracks on the back panel of panoramic sunroof glass with no indication that something fell on it to cause the cracks. I was not in the car when it happened and do not leave my sunroof shade open all the time, so I cannot be sure exactly when the cracks happened. I leave the shade closed during the hot summer months.
Vehicle moon roof displaying stress fractures. Not covered under warranty, has the probability to explode while driving. As a quick internet search will show you this is a known safety issue from the manufacturer who refuses to cover the cost or recall. I believe this to be a safety issue. I'm worried it will break while driving, and I have two small kids in car seats directly below where the cracks are. I do not have the money to replace, and this vehicle is less than 5 years old. There is no reason this should be occurring.
Vehicle has been sitting in my garage for almost a month (as I was away traveling for work) and my wife noticed wavy cracks all across the rear glass panel of the panoramic sunroof (fixed glass panel that does not move) when we were out driving this past weekend. There is no indication of how this cracked, car was stationary as I am the only one who drives it. There has been no impact to the top, and after doing research this seems to be an all-to-common occurrence in this vehicle model and some other Ford vehicles as well. I am afraid if this cracks further it may cause a safety risk inside the cabin with broken glass. There is no recall to-date on this glass issue, but I am aware of a class action lawsuit filed against Ford because of this issue.
Booster brake defect. There is a recall but my VIN # is not on the list. It should be. I had my car towed to the dealership for repair. The brakes delayed stopping my car. I could not drive it. My car VIN should be added to the recall. I am going to have to pay for repair because it is not added to the recall list but the problem is there. I should not have to pay for this repair. If my VIN is added later, will I be reimbursed ? when I press the brake the pedal is hard. The vehicle slows but does not stop when it should. If you pump the brake it sounds like the rotors sound when brake pads are bad. The car pops and scrubs, jerks to a stop. When coming up to a stop sign or red light the car takes longer to stop so you have to brake sooner. I took to dealership, parts where ordered to repair. Still waiting to see if I have to pay!
I just purchased this 2015 Ford Edge sport eco in April 2019 from cowles dealership in woodbridge va. I recently stated issues with the electrical gear system. The vehicle was in park but three vehicle wouldn't start and gave a message that it wasn't on gear. I had bring it back to the dealership and pay for it to get fixed. The dealership mechanic and based on some reviews this is a common issue with this vehicle and other Ford with push start. Is this a recall?
The panoramic roof made a loud noise and then cracked in a curvy webbed pattern. Thank goodness I wasn't in traffic or I may have caused an accident as it was loud and startling. I took it to Ford dealership and my repair was denied because I am out of warranty. I have 46000 miles on my 2015 Ford Edge. I will have to pay for repairs myself. I contacted Ford Consumer Affairs and was told to keep my receipt in case their was a recall. I voiced my concern over safety and disappointment that Ford was not taking care of the issue. They said until their is a recall they won't. disappointing and scary.
Our 2015 Ford Edge was parked in the yard of a non-profit. Apparently something hit the window while a volunteer was mowing. When my husband returned to the parked car, the window looked cloudy, like it had condensation on it, even though it was mid-day. He touched it with his fingertip, and it fell into many tiny pieces down into the driver's seat. According to the company that replaced the window, which is a third party contracted by the local Ford dealer, there was no lamination to hold the shards in place. We are fortunate no one was injured, but this incident calls into question the safety of the other windows in the car.
Appears to be two separate wavy cracks across rear roof panel. No indication of any strikes. Same experience as many others have documented regarding cracks for no apparent reason. Did experience failure when closing roof panel also.
Found my Ford Edge 2015 titanium panoramic sunroof cracked when reaching 78km. Checked online and found more similar cases from other owners via https://www.cargurus.com/cars/discussion-T57175_ds687995
While driving on the highway my car just turns off losing power!! in the middle of rush hour traffic. Has happened 3 times now! very scary and unsafe!!!
Takara recall I have had continuous issues with my 2015 Edge with the doors becoming ajar. The first time I was stuck in below zero conditions, without being able to have my heart on close my doors or lock them. If that wasnt enough, I had to call a tow truck because my car battery died as a result of being able to close the doors. This has happened countless times and now again I have another issue but the lift gate is ajar. This time however the car is still driving. How can Ford not recall this? you say it isn't a safety issue but I could have froze to death, been seriously injured when I'm driving and the door suddenly flies open. Correct this. I will end up filing a lawsuit if anything happens again. I just bought this car a year ago. You cannot justify a $40,000 car not being able to open or close my doors or trunk. Get it figured out or I will be contacting someone who will. I've been in support of Ford since I was 16. You're about to loose a valuable customer and I'm about to spread the word how Ford cant stand behind their vehicles.
The car keeps losing power while driving!! it flashes "full accessory power mode" and then completely loses power! this last time was mid turn into a strip mall with traffic coming. I thank god my daughter was not in the passenger seat! there is no warning or anything when this happens, it just quits! this is the 5th incident!! I looked online and sooo many people have had this happen just like us at various points throughout ownership and no dealership can duplicate the problem so Ford says there is no problem! there is a serious safety problem! a car in great shape regardless of miles cannot just stop! what if someone dies??!!
Since I purchased the vehicle it has been making a jerking effect after it passes 1st gear to 2nd. The jerking effect seems to be coming from the motor. I took it to the dealer and the dealer said there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. To this day it still has the jerking effect.
