CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2015 Ford Edge has a trend of the engine dying while driving, which is typically considered a safety issue.

Owners report the stalling while driving problem is caused by the throttle body needing replacement. The problem typically occurs at low mileage & so the issue has been covered under warranty -- although by now, the 2015 Edge is generally past the full warranty period.

Traveling 80mph on turnpike and lost all ability to propel vehicle forward due to broken flex plate. Car just stopped driving and steering became an issue as I coasted to the shoulder in the middle of no where miles and miles from a place of business. No warning. The only sign was a loud rattle from the bell housing. Broken flex plate happened 3 times this year 2023. First repair $2400 by AAA mechanic shop, second time (4 months later) covered by parts warranty, 3rd time (2 months later) and Ford wants $4500 and no reimbursement for the first repair.

I recently learned that there is a coolant leak in my engine in cylinder 2 which has now blown a gasket and causing the engine to fail. I was told the entire engine needs to be replaced. After doing research i learned ford release a service bulletin to address this issue but they do not accept liability for this defect. A quick google search will show many many ford customers are affected by this issue and ford needs to address the concerns and issue a recall and offer to replace the engine.

Faulty water pump leak which is extremely expensive to repair due to manufacturer encasing it inside the timing belt chain. I cannot afford a $5K repair for something that should be extremely more affordable due to Ford-??s scheme to acquire more money to repair. Standard mechanics cannot complete tasks due to the severity of the job as well as specialized tools required including lifting the car. These water pump, according to what I was informed was designed to last at least 150K miles.

Engine has been shaking/misfiring and white smoke coming from Exhaust. Took it to ford and they said it was a coolant intrusion problem on the first cylinder. Learned there is a design flaw in Fords eco boost engines. There is currently a class action lawsuit with Ford. Was told by Ford that a new engine is needed. Approximately $9,000 for repair

Our vehicle was making very loud noises and the cooling fan kept running. We took the car to the Ford Dealership as it has some recalls that needed to be fixed and we needed some general maintenance performed. The dealer let us know that the water pump had a crack and needed to be repaired immediately. I looked online and it appears that this is a known issues with Ford vehicles. This was a very costly repair because they had to take out the engine to be able to reach the water pump. We were advised that if this was not repaired the leak could reach the engine and cause total failure. This amounted to $3166.71 for labor and parts. https://topclassactions.com/lawsuit-settlements/lawsuit-news/ford-class-action-lawsuit-and-settlement-news/ford-class-action-alleges-vehicles-contain-defective-water-pumps/

I own a 2015 sport edge that got serviced from the dealership at the beginning of the year 2023 for a rattling noice, loss of power, and a shut off problem while been operated on the highway. Expenses where paid out of pocket twice for the same reasons but now in July 2023 I received a recall letter 22N12 about this problem and after getting another diagnosis from the dealership I've been advised that a new engine is needed and that ford will not cover any expenses even after the recall 22N12 stating that the problems I'm having with my car are the same diagnosis the dealership gave me months ago but now this recall for some reason is not available even thou is was a manufacturer issue. Thanks but this issue put my family at risk multiple times while operating the vehicle after a recall was created and never fixed by ford.

I received a Customer Satisfaction Program Notice in June 2023 #22N12 regarding the flex plate, transmission fluid pump and torque converter but the 100% coverage ended on 2/28/23. I was told by Ford on 7/3/23 that I should have received the notification in September 2022 but I did not. The representative told me that others have reported same problem in the last week or so. The Complaint number given to me by Ford is CAS43676484. I also submitted another complaint with nhtsa.gov number 11530072. I am unable to pay for this repair due to being on SS Disability since 2017 and also becoming a widow on 2/12/22. Please contact me with any available assistance with these issues which I was not properly notified of and am suffering hardship due to problems known by Ford with my vehicle I purchased in good faith.

My car overheated due to a problem with the ECOBOOST engine known by Ford where coolant leaked into the 4th cylinder of my engine. My mechanic used a product called Blue Devil which somewhat improved the leak but has recommended that my engine be replaced however I do not have the resources due to my disability which I am drawing disability benefits from Social Security since 2017 and also being widowed in February 2022.
