The headlights have been a porblem from day one. We changed them to a brighter bulb and we cant seem to get them adjusted. Door ajar has been replaced on the right rear and now is doing the same thing on the right front passenger door. Now the brake pedal seems "hard" when we push it and I have seen recalls for the brake booster yet it shows our Edge has no recalls. We will be taking it to our mechanic to be checked.
Due to the door latch issue and my interior light staying on I am unable to see at night when driving. It has caused issues with my battery and I have had to replace it a few times. Why isn't Ford recalling this?
Entire panel system shuts down when driving at various times. Non-functioning lights, speedometer, and warning systems. Entire panel across Ford Edge goes black. Driving at night and the entire cabin and headlamps shut off immediately. No hazard lights. Ford stated my vehicle is not recalled due to being manufactured at another plant from other recalls of the same year, model and make. Vehicle has less than 28,000 as of this date. Available for inspection immediately.

Vehicle door ajar warning light appears on dash as a bright red warning when door is actually closed. Loud beeping warning sound continually sounds off while driving, causing a distraction making unsafe to drive. Driver ignores other warning banners and alerts because this "door ajar alert" is constantly on and ringing. The driver and passengers are in danger because the saftey automatic door locks dk not lock while driving. The driver cannot lock doors with key fob because the door sensor shows the door is ajar. Dome lights are constantly on while driving make it very difficult driving at night, impeding sight of street signs, street maintenance workers, other vehicles, and pedestrians.
The door ajar light is illuminated for the rear passenger door. The overhead light stays for 10 mins or so when any door is opened and then closed. The door ajar alarm will beep when you start the car and put it into reverse or drive until you acknowledge the alarm and the light will stay on. There is no way to turn off the interior light. At night it makes it very hard to see to back out your vehicle.
The drivers side rear back door has a sensor light that comes on just like the drivers door side door that has been recalled. The door ajar light comes on and shows the door is open and will not lock.
The door ajar light is on indicating that the driver's side back door is opened even though the door is closed. As a result you cannot lock the doors and the light stays on inside the car. I called Ford and they are not willing to repair the problem even though there was a recall for the same issue on the driver's side front door. This occurs while the car is in park or in drive and while in motion at low or higher speeds.
Door ajar warning comes on which makes thee interior lights stay on, when this warning happens the doors will not lock. Tonight, it was especially dangerous when this warning happened after dark and the interior lights stayed on while driving home which is a 20 minute commute. It makes it difficult to see what's happening outside the car, especially when you live in the country trying to Dodge deer becomes 100% harder with interior lights on.
The door sensor to let the car know the door was closed, failed, resulting in a constant "door ajar" message. This occurred on the driver side door and started shortly after I purchased the car (used) in 2017 and was no longer covered under warranty. For the better part of the past 2 years I was able to repeatedly open/close the door until the sensor recognized that the door was actually closed, but that no longer became an option as of 9/9/2019. No matter how many attempts were made to open/close the door, I could no longer manipulate the sensor. Two impacts occurred as a result of this: 1. the car doors would not lock. Since the car believed the door was ajar, every time you would go to lock the doors, the car would automatically unlock them. This poses a safety issue. 2. the interior dome light remained lit, resulting in a dead battery. I had no choice but to spend approximately $350 dollars to have the sensor replaced. I have seen many, many complaints online from Edge owners with the same issue, yet Ford is not being held liable for faulty equipment. This is an unfair expense to pass on to the consumer. If the issue is not identified as a "recall", the least that could be done is for the issue to be fixed at no charge by Ford, if/when the issue arises for the owner.
"takata recall" the warning light that L passenger door is ajar stays on -- even when door is closed. This apparently drained the battery; had to jump the car to get it started. The dome light stays on. This has especially been a problem for the past several weeks. This occurs whether the car is stationary or in motion.
Front passenger door ajar warning comes on, leaving interior lights on running battery down. When I am driving interior lights on it's really hard to drive in the evening/night time. My mechanic checked the door and said it's electrical issue not mechanical. First it happened when I was driving the lights turned on and on the dashboard was sigh passenger door ajar. All the doors were definitely closed. I didn't get recall when should've cause this's safety hazard driving with interior light on in night time.
Open door warning lights come on even when doors are closed, happened 2 years ago with back drivers doors and was fixed, a year later the same happens with the drivers door. This is constant once you turn on the car and close all doors, sometime if door is close very hard, light turns off. Sometimes works, sometimes don't. it does not impedes the car to drive correctly but bothers with sound, lights and warnings.
All the car sensors have gone out it says the doors are open at all time even when closed tightly the lights come on and go off on their own when it's parked and the engine is shut off the engine oil light pops on and off the air pressure light stays on the air bag light goes on and off the back up camera hardly ever works. The head lights have dropped down and only shine out about a 15 feet ahead of you while driving.
I purchased this car used. The headlights are extremely dim and unsafe to drive at night or early morning hours. I see numerous complaints on the internet and salesman acknowledges that these are known for this but Ford won't stand behind it. Now I'm struggling to find a way to resolve this.
"door ajar" light on dash remains on even when doors shut securely. This causes inside lights to remain on, and buzzer to buzz. Problem continues during vehicle in use
