The front driver door sensor will not go off no matter how many times you open and re-close the door. This causes the following to occur: 1) when driving the car, the doors will not lock, which is a major safety issue for those with children 2) when leaving the car, the door is not recognized as closed so the interior dome light and side-view mirror lights all remain on. This drains the battery while the car sits idle.
The door ajar light is on at all times when the door is door is shut. The dome lights are on when driving and frequent flashing lights on the dash warn that the drivers door is ajar when it is not. This is a hazard when driving and very distracting. This started here and there on 2/29 and is constant since 3/7. the mileage of the car is around 65,000
Door ajar is constantly on and if it goes off in the middle of me driving the door ajar will go off with interior lights on. This problem is happening all the time
Drivers door ajar light stay illuminated in the instrument cluster and dome lights won't shut off. Had had it to dealer 2 times in the last year and problem would be resolved for 2 months and then would happen again.

Driver side door ajar sensor stays on all the time even though the door is closed securely. This causes the vehicle not to be secured properly during operation and causes faulty annoying alerts to sound intermittently while driving. It also causes interior dome lights to stay on causing a dangerous obstruction to vision while driving at night. When parked with the engine off, the interior lights will stay on and drain the battery.
My 2013 Ford Edge door latch incorrectly reports that the door is open when it is not. This turns the interior lights on and drains the battery, also will not let you turn on the alarm or lock the doors from the inside. Constantly chimes and tell you to put in park to shut door.
When you close the driver side door the instrument panel gives a false warning saying the door is ajar and the dome light stays on. This happens when the car is stationary. After several attempts of opening and closing the door the warning disappears, but then while the car is moving the warning returns and the dome light comes back on and the doors unlock. This seems to be a pretty common problem and my car currently has 48,000 miles on it. This warning issue has been going on for about 1 month.
Driver's side door open light keeps coming on. Shift to park light keeps coming on. Lights come on while you are driving or just parked. Interior lights don't go out when they should. Inside lights go on when the car is just parked for no reason. Sometimes will stay on for up to a half an hour.
My door sensor on the driver side passenger door light stays on when the door is completely shut. So the dome light stays on. Also when you are driviing the doors don't lock. I just purchased this vehicle this past October. It was good for about 2 weeks then the door sensor started going on and off. Now it is staying on all the time.

The driver door sensor (when the door is shut tightly and secured) keeps turning interior lights on while driving in the dark! this is a safety issue. Guess what else happens" my doors will not lock because of this sensor. That is another safety issue on the opposite side of the safety spectrum. If this occurs both driving and while car is not in motion, how does Ford value the safety of their customers" hopefully by taking that this should be recalled and make their customers happy. This is disappointing, as well as frustrating because it is happening every single day.
Sensor on the rear driver's side door is defective, causing the doors not to lock, and the interior lights not to go off when it is locked. This ultimately drained the battery and left my wife stranded.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. The contact stated that an unknown front door latching mechanism failed to properly register that the vehicle door was closed. As a result, an internal warning message informing the contact to put the vehicle in park and close the door displayed. In addition, the contact stated that the warning message chimed until the vehicle was placed into the park position. The contact further stated that when the vehicle was stopped and turned off, the interior light failed to function properly and shut off causing the battery to be drained. The vehicle was taken to be diagnosed where the contact was informed that the door lock mechanism needed to be replaced. It was unknown if the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 55,000.
Door ajar light stays on, we have to open and close it several times to get the lights to go out when the car is turned off, when the car is on it causes the warning chime to constantly sound.
When taking a left or right turn onto another road, there is absolutely no illumination to the side during the actual turn until completed on rural roads with no lighting. The experience is like turning into a black hole until front wheels are back straight. Road sides with adjacent ditches or anything in the road like people or animals will not be seen, a very dangerous situation. Low beam illumination is not that good under normal circumstances; it like driving with two very narrow beam fixed flashlights. Last week I almost missed a turn on an unfamiliar road by just missing running into a ditch close to the roadside at its' intersection.
Dome lights, ajar light other dash board lights stay on when I get out of the car. I can lock or not and they will stay on and drain my battery. I sometimes take 5 minutes opening and closing doors and locking/unlocking vehicle before it will go off. Also while traveling the dome lights will come on and at night I have to stop or have a wreck. Very dangerous situation why hasn't Ford done something about this. Will never buy a Ford product again especially when they will not recognize the problem with a recall
