Door ajar warning comes on, even when door is shut. This prevents the doors from locking and they can only be locked manually, the dome lights will never go off and eventually the battery dies, and the ac will only blow cold on 1 setting. It will not blow heat. The keypad will not let the vehicle lock when the warning is on. This happens when the car is moving or stationary, and intermittently. Sometimes it doesn't happen, sometimes I have to shut the door 20 times to get it to lock properly with the lights off.
Door ajar light on dash continues to stay lit after door is closed. This creates an issue as the door locks will not engage when the vehicle is running.
My drivers side door when I shut it, the door ajar light stays on along with the dome lights. It only took a few times re shutting the door to make this go away. However, just recently it has been staying on longer and harder to get to go off. It has also been coming on when driving and I have to pullover to try to get this to turn off. I cannot lock the doors when this happens causing a very unsafe travel along with the lights staying on. If I had kids in my vehicle I would feel they could open the doors due to this failure and fall out. When driving and this happens the light comes on and causes a glare and could cause an accident! even after Ford does their "cleaning" to the door it still happens after a couple months. The door latch and components have to be replaced completely to have this fixed.
The sensor for the driver door ajar keeps popping up. I have to close the door numerous times before it will allow me to lock the car. If I don't then the interior dome light will remain on. This happens while driving or when parked. If I am driving then the dome light remains on until I can get the sensor to turn off.

Door ajar light stays on and won't register when the front driver's side door is shut. Lights will not dim while driving or parked, locks will not work properly either. Battery is being drained because of the faulty sensor. Ford will not cover repairs, even though my vehicle is still under warranty.
Left door sensor/latch is not working properly after 65,000 miles. Affects door locks while driving and parked. The door locks go up and down intermittently and unexpectantly. Affects overhead lighting and the remote start. Dangerous to have the doors not locked especially if young kids are in back seat.
The rear driver side door ajar light stays on all the time and the door is not open. The interior lights stay on at least 5 minutes after turning the car off, therefore running down the battery. We just had to put in a new battery. The doors won't automatically lock while driving because it thinks the rear door is open. It doesn't matter how many times you shut the door, the door ajar light stays on. Very frustrating!! so many other complaints about this same problem, it needs to be recalled!!!
Driver door ajar warning. Cannot lock doors, interior lights go on, warning chime sounds. Very dangerous especially at night with the interior lights on with doors unlocked. Dealer said no recall. Had to pay $366.10 for a "possible" fix by cleaning contact latch with tool and recycled per tsb 15-0013.
The door open warning light stays on even when its closed, this is not allowing the doors to close properly, this also causes the panic alarm to go off and it keeps the dome light on while driving causing glare at night due to the bright dome light staying on. This also drains the batter due to the constant intirior lights staying on when the car is parked and closed
For about a month the door ajar signal stays on when door is closed. Interior light stays on. Not able to lock doors while in or outside of the vehicle. While driving (streets or highway) the shift to park indicator lights up, the door ajar indicator comes on, interior lights turn on, all the doors unlock and the door open chimes are heard. When I initially checked for recalls there are several internet stories from 2014 related to this issue on the Ford Edge. I was told about a recall that had been issued on Ford vehicles so I took my Edge to South bay Ford on Saturday, August 5, 2016. I was told that my Edge was not on the recall list. On August 4, 2016 cnbc reported the recall of about 830,000 Ford vehicles (www.cnbc.com/2016/08/04/Ford-recalls-830000-2012-2016-Ford-and-Lincoln-vehicles-to-fix-latches.html). to my surprise the 2013 Ford Edge is not listed.
The door adjar stays on while driving leaving light dome on causing visibility problems at night. When I get home I always have a hard time closing my door for the light dome to turn off. My battery already died had to buy a new battery and the car was purchased brand new in 2013! a battery should not die that soon! all because this door adjar. Please have this recalled. Also. I had this problem fixed for a minute when I took the car to get checked at Ford when it was still in warranty! they fixed it for the time being but it started to happen again. And my warranty is over!

As a woman who travels a lot and gets in her car, alone, often late at night, I do truly believe this to be a terribly safety issue!!! dome lights often remain on even when car is off a no one is in it. I fear it could drain the battery dead when car left in park and off. In addition, I often have difficulties with the car's sync system and the car almost always has exhaust/fuel fumes when traveling above 60 mph. I don't know if all of these issues are related, but with a vehicle so dependant on electrical systems for operation I worry about a life-threatening issue!!!
2013 Ford Edge with 37K miles. Driver "door ajar" light comes on when door is shut. Causing doors not to lock while car is in motion going down road/highway. Also causes interior dome lights to stay on, unable to see out the windows while the dome lights are on while night driving. Rear view camera glitches on and off and flips upside down which causes distraction while backing up and unsafe operating conditions.

Door ajar signal stays on when door is closed. Prevents driver from knowing of a real door ajar situation. Interior light stays on, creating a night driving hazard and when sitting in car at night. Doors no longer lock when vehicle is in motion. Major safety issue. Faulty latch or sensor. All issues stemming for faulty door latch or sensor. This has continued for several weeks.
The driver side door ajar light remains on even when the door is closed. The dealership notified me of the locking sensor/assembly being faulty and that I need to have this changed because the battery can drain. Repairs cost about $400 since I was 3,000 miles beyond of the warranty.
My 2013 Ford Edge vehicle door ajar light came on about a week ago. I can not get the door ajar light to shut off. It does not matter how hard or soft is shut it, it will stay on. I drive 20 miles to work everyday. It is a big safety hazard. When I do get it to shut off, while driving it will pop back on.. then my interior lights come and I have a hard time getting them off. I have 2 kids and this is a big safety issue for me. I see multiple complaints about this issue but no recall. The locks will lot lock with this light on. Like I said before I have kids and this is a big concern for me.
Driver side door ajar issue- when the door is closed the door ajar light will come on while driving or while parked. The interior lights will stay on even while driving at night. The door locks will also not stay locked. This will happen whether driving on the highway or in the city. Every time you drive the car this will happen. When the car is turned off and parked the interior lights will stay on. I have to open and close the door several times in order for the lights to finally shut off.
