Due to the door latch issue and my interior light staying on I am unable to see at night when driving. It has caused issues with my battery and I have had to replace it a few times. Why isn't Ford recalling this?
ON 9-28-2022 I was driving about 45 mph when suddenly my car lost power. The wrench symbol appeared on the dash. I floored the gas pedal, pressed it completely to the floor, and the car sputtered off the road and out of traffic. It was terrifying.
I have been having issues with the backup camera on this model. I replaced the camera and still having issues. A warning message is displayed and says contact dealer. I've recently noticed a recall on newer model fords and wonder why there wasn't a recall on the later models since there is the same issue with the newer models.
Traction control. Stabiltrak, and ABS system all randomly failed at 69,000 miles. They were intermittently going in and out for two days now come on every time. The car does not even have 100,000 miles. I have replaced the transmission and have countless electrical issues. The blend door actuators are all faulty. Known common issue that will cost a thousand to fix. Master brake cylinder has been replaced and still having faulty petal issues that is no longer covered. The panoramic roof does not work and it is a known issue almost every edge has. And now sever safety issues with the ABS system and traction control. There is no excuse for this poor manufacturing and no recalls to fix them. There were absolutely zero warning signs or check engine lights that came on prior to any of these systems happening. The transmission never through a code at all until after it locked up. The ABS system went out while driving down the road on a rainy day causing me to loose control and luckily I was able to get it into the ditch instead of into oncoming traffic. It put my life and my friends lives in danger. Ford should be sued for this and made to recall every single edge or other vehicle with these components. I have no fixed the issue yet because I wanted to submit this issue to the NHTSA and have it available to be inspected if they wanted. This vehicle is extremely unsafe and has had issues non stop. The transmission went out also while driving on the highway and just locked up causing me to almost get hit from the rear. And the replacement transmission is already having issues again with less than 15,000 miles on it. This

I was told once that body control module wàs bad then I call to get it replaced and they said it wasn't bad. Windshield wipers go when they want then sometimes they won't work at all. Windows will roll down when rolling up or roll up when rolling down. Radio has been delayed. Sometimes definitely not eco boost. Pushes slower than my grandma's 1999 Buick. Brake boost was replaced in July ànd now again I have no breaks whatsoever I have to drive with the emergency brake
Sunroof will not close. Nothing is obstructing its ability to close. After taking it on to the dealership, they informed me 7 out of 10 Edges have this problem. This is not something I as the consumer has done.
This is a known issue for the Ford Edge. The Voltage Regulator on the Alternator goes out prematurely. The SYNC system will shut down while driving and also disable many features of the vehicle. Such as the radio turning off, doors not unlocking, shifting disabled, headlights turn on dimly, etc. The battery tests normal and so does the alternator, however the regulator within the alternator will not pass through enough charge to the battery to stay charged. Hence, why most people will change the battery and still have the problem later. I understand as parts age they do fail, however this has been a known issue since early versions of the car and it has yet to be corrected. Many of the complaints on NHTSA are related to this, however some people are not aware due to lack of testing the particular item. They will write complaints about radio shutting off or headlights wont turn on(which is really dangerous as well). It often happens while driving, a warning will show up saying "Sync shutting down.....". Driver's are unaware that they are only driving on the battery power at this point because when they get it checked by a mechanic, both the battery and alternator test as they are supposed too. They alternator is still creating voltage however the regulator, not tested individually, won't allow enough to go through to recharge the battery. The most concerning part is if certain electrical components not deemed necessary by the SYNC system are shut down they could lead to more catastrophic incidents. For example; ABS braking not slowing the vehicle, door wont unlock in emergency situation, etc. I had both battery and alternator checked by a tech from Oreilly's Auto Parts and a mechanic from a local auto shop. I was informed that it must be the battery since the alternator is performing, So the battery was changed Friday 08/13/2021. Vehicle was fine until driving Monday 08/15/2021 and warning showed up again.
Entire panel system shuts down when driving at various times. Non-functioning lights, speedometer, and warning systems. Entire panel across Ford Edge goes black. Driving at night and the entire cabin and headlamps shut off immediately. No hazard lights. Ford stated my vehicle is not recalled due to being manufactured at another plant from other recalls of the same year, model and make. Vehicle has less than 28,000 as of this date. Available for inspection immediately.
Even though the door is closed, the door open signal is on and will stay on and I cannot lock the car. It was happening periodically, now it is consistent. After reviewing the NHTSA website, I noticed that 19N09 was issued and I never received the notice to bring the car in.
Driver door ajar indicator remains on even when door is fully closed. This results in doors not being able to lock, posing a possible safety issue. This is happening randomly. Additionally, the interior light on continuous illumination which could result in dead battery.
Light keeps coming on while driving, saying left passenger door is not closed. Shortly after that started the wipers started coming on by themselves once the car is started. We do not have automatic wipers. While looking online to try to figure out why this was happening, discovered many other people had the same problem on this year, make & model. There should be a recall on this since there are so many!
Over a year ago my driver side door would be closed and my Edge would said door ajar leaving the lights on and me unable to lock my doors. After dropping a bunch of money the latch was replaced and has a warranty on it. My passenger door is now doing this and if my driver door has a warranty meaning whatever company is aware of this happening and covering it, I want my passenger door covered without me being out any money! it is hard times right now and any help would be great!
