Control panel states doors ajar and lights won't turn off or doors won't lock. Dome light stays on and creates dangerous conditions at night when trying to back out or while driving. Lights will also come back on when stopped at stop light and won't go back off until a certain rate of speed has been met due to the system thinking the door is ajar when it's not. Doors will also not lock when car is off and dome light stays on draining battery till the battery is dead sitting in parked position. It is also climate sensitive and is worse on cold or humid days. Both the driver and the drivers passenger door is affected and creates extremely dangers driving conditions. This has been going on for at least 6 months and continues to get worse.
Driver door ajar sensor is continually on and requires stopping putting in park and opening and closing door multiple times this is an ongoing problem and is being addressed for other Ford models but no the Edge please consider including it in the current recall 16S30. This occurs while both stationary and moving.
Door ajar latch/sensor continues to stick which keeps the door ajar light on and keeps the interior lights and park lights on after turning off car, closing door, and locking car. Interior lights and park lights are hard to notice during daylight hours and this results in draining battery which leaves the owner stranded. This happens repeatedly!
Received a door ajar message for driver side door on instrument panel and interior light would stay on even though door was closed. Doors would not lock while driving and would hear a constant dinging sound and would receive a message on console saying shift to park. The door latch had to be replaced on 3/13/17 and cost $590. The mileage on this vehicle is 42,716 when the latch failed and was repaired.
The door ajar warning light keep coming on for my drivers side door even though all doors are closed and fully latched. The lights stay on after the the car has been parked and all doors closed, causing the battery to drain quickly. The warning will also come on while I am driving and each time I come to a stop. Problem is intermittent. It will do it most of the time and then occasionally, the door ajar will work properly.

Sensor for driver door keeps coming on when door is clearly shut. This causes battery to drain, interior lights to remain on, doors to not lock, and constant beeping. Researched it and tens of thousands of people have the same problem and are paying $300+ to fix it and having it happen a year later again.

Door ajar light stays on and have to slam door several times to get it to finally go out. Interior lights stays on until door ajar light is cleared and of course doors won't lock while door ajar light is on. This happens when the car is stationary.
I have been having a problem with the driver's door of my '13 Ford Edge limited indicating that it is ajar (warning and interior lights on) when it is not. In order for it to quit, I have to either very firmly close the door (slam it) or open and close it a few times until it senses that it is in fact fully closed. It is also draining my battery because when I exit the vehicle sometimes the interior lights stay on. There have been a few occasions that I had to jump start my car. The door ajar light stays on when the vehicle is parked and in motion.
The driver door ajar switch/alarm remains on when the drivers door is firmly closed when stationary and when in motion. This causes the dome light to remain on which makes it hard to see, dangerous, to drive at night. The doors will not lock when driving which can be unsafe. This condition is constant on any type of street or any parking situation. My Edge had around 31,000 miles when this problem started.
The driver door ajar light stays on at all times even though all doors are fully latched. The interior lights stay on making dangerous driving conditions at night. The doors will not lock when the car is in motion. The door ajar bell goes off at all times, even though the doors are fully latched.
Door adjar light stays illuminated even when door is shut. Dome lights stay on causing battery to die. Vehicle chimes while driving causing mild distraction.
For the past several months I have been having a problem with a message telling me that the driver door is ajar. The message tells me to put the car in park and shut the door. After several tries to get the message off, sometimes it will work but most of the time I end up shutting and reshutting the door to get the message off. And while the message is on the interior lights stay on. Sometimes I spend hours trying to get the message off. I have been told that it is a sensor. This needs to be fixed. A recall must be made to take care of this problem. Also, in addition to the lights staying on, the doors will not lock. It is very annoying and not safe. Also, I am worried that the battery will run down. I am getting to the point that I don't even want to drive the car.
A light indicating 'door ajar' randomly appears even though door seems to be closed. There is no solution except to repeated slam door shut multiple times until light disappear. Ford refuses to cover this problem under warranty.
Car is stationary. Door ajar sensor is showing the interior light remains on which make it dangerous to back up at night. This also causes the battery to die. Door ajar chime constantly going off every three to five minutes.
Door ajar light remains on when door is closed and latched causing interior lights to remain on until a certain speed is attained. Also door locks do not work when the warning light is on.
On three separate occasions in the last three months the door ajar sensor has malfunctioned on the Ford Edge. These issues surfaced twice with the driver's door and once with the rear driver's passenger door. Despite being closed, the sensor activates to show that the door is ajar. The lights on the vehicle stay on, the alarm sounds. The repair costs for this problem are around $500 per incident. A quick search of the internet finds this to be a reoccurring problem for many Ford Edge owners but no one at Ford or the government will help address the problem. I'm writing for you to investigate this issue.
