CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Edge has its fair share of problems, but chief among them is an annoying “door ajar” warning light that won’t shut off even when the door is most definitely closed. While the retina-burning, ever-present false reminder on your dashboard is bad, it points to a deeper problem that can drain the battery, leave the doors unlocked while in motion, or render the key fob useless.

Left rear door ajar warning message stays on, even when the door is closed. The interior/dome lights stay on while driving, even at night time, so it is hard to see to drive. The dome lights stay on as even after the car is parked and turned off. The doors do not lock while we are inside our vehicle. This is a huge safety issue for myself, and my growing family. For one, not being able to lock the doors to keep ourselves protected and safe inside our vehicle has me very concerned. This vehicle is suppose to be our family car that I feel safe and secure in with my spouse and children. Also, driving at night while the dome lights continue to stay on prevents me from seeing everything properly at night. I seriously fear for the safety of my family while driving this vehicle this way. This is our family car that needs this door latched replaced due to a faulty latch. Please, send out the recall. Help me protect my family and those around me from any accidents that may happen due to this faulty door latch. I hope this reaches some one who can help prevent my family from any accidents, and who will help others stay safe that have this vehicle problem. Thank you for reading my cry for help.....updated 10-27-15 the consumer stated when the door was locked. The alarm kept going off, because the system was detecting the left rear door was opened. Also, the interior lights kept coming on for a while, and eventually they went out. They would come on periodically since the system sensed the left rear door was ajar. Updated 01/15/16.

Bought my car in February of 2014. (we were the 2nd owners. Not sure if previous owners experienced trouble before they traded the car in.) almost immediately we started having issues with "door ajar" lights staying on which caused the interior lights to stay on while driving down the road. It also doesn't allow the doors to lock themselves automatically when driving. We had sensors replaced by Ford on both front doors after a lot of back and forth with them last year. Now we are having trouble with a sensor on one of the back doors that's causing all the same problems as last time only this time we are also having trouble with interior lights coming on and going off on their own while the car is sitting parked. Nobody likes a dead battery. This is a serious issue that needs to be addressed. Right now this is a warranty issue for me but will eventually cost around $500 a pop to fix and more importantly it poses a safety issue for the children riding in my car if their door doesn't latch properly & I don't know it because I assume it's just the sensor acting up again. Please help get this sensor recalled. Ford has no intention of doing it.

Driver's door is shut tightly, but "driver door ajar" light keeps coming up intermittently. Also, dome lights stay on and warning sounds. Started off occasionally doing this, now is doing practically every time you go to start the engine.
