Door Ajar Light Stays On
2011 Ford Edge (Page 11 of 12)
This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Ford dealer.
CarComplaints.com Notes: A frustrating electrical issue is causing an ever-present “door ajar†warning light for 2011-2013 Ford Edge owners. Even with the doors latched shut, faulty sensors convince the vehicle’s computer they aren’t. With no way to override the system, owners have no choice but to stare at the warning light, listen to the warning chimes when the car is stopped, and deal with interior lights that won’t shut off.

The door ajar light for driver and left passenger light come on every time I start my car and pretty much stays on the whole time while I'm driving. The only way to lock my car door is to manual lock and then start my car. My dome lights stay on until I get a certain distance and than turns off. Really hard to back up when the dome lights won't turn off. I'm always afraid I'm going to hit something when backing up. Just replaced a battery that was one yr old. The dome lights will randomly come on when the car is parked and had been for hours. My neighbors were always calling me to tell me my inside lights on my car were on in the garage. I have a neighbor and coworker having same problem with their Ford Edges. Coworker had door ajar sensor fixed and then began having electrical problems and camera issues.
I called Ford Edge and they took my complaint but wouldn't do anything about my issue. Apparently, they feel not a safety issue. Told them I would never buy a Ford Edge again and would call them everyday to talk about how Ford stinks for not taking care of this problem. I think everyone having this problem should call Ford everyday.
