Fan motor on the engine cooling system failed to come on its on. Smoke was coming from underneath the vehicle. Consumer took vehicle to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that the recall 00V367000 for the fan blower expired for this vehicle.
Both passenger and drivers side doors do not open from inside or out. Rear seatbelts have fallen apart. HVAC fan motor doesn't work. Also, fan motor relay fails.
Cooling fan inoperative due to excessive heat from a bearing seize. Fan was replaced at owners expense twice and is still inoperative, causing the engine to overheat and the air conditioning to fail.
Had received a notice (00V367000) and took vehicle to dealership. The mechanic refuse to do the recall repair and indicated no parts were available. Contacted Ford and a representative was sent. Mechanic finally indicated had parts for repair. Once recall was repaired and was driving, started smelling smoke. Had parked and left vehicle. Noticed white smoke coming from rear of vehicle. Thermostat has been replaced 3 times since consumer received recall letter 00V367 concerning engine cooling fan on 02/2001. Consumer had vehicle fixed under that recall.
After recall repairs were done problem re reoccurred. Dealership wanted to charge for replacement although recall letter stated that will replace if problem reoccurres.
Consumer states that due to recall 00S44 he had to replace the engine in his vehicle, at the dealership the service manager stated that the cooling fan had been checked and it was fine, 1500 miles later consumer asked the same service manager how the cooling fan could be checked without the motor running and he informed consumer that this vehicle was not included in the recall.
Electrical system burned up, causing vehicle to become inoperable. Contacted dealer. After dealer performed recall campaign 00V367000, consumer could smell something burning, another mechanic found wiring harness was completely destroyed. Consumer adds that the oil pump also failed.
Module in engine cooling fan system burned, melting the wiring harness and cooling fan. Engine cooling fan was replaced under recall campaign 00V367000 June 29, 2001. Remedy did not correct problem. Please add VIN.
After getting vehicle worked on for a recall 00V367000 on cooling motor fan vehicle has started smoking when consumer was driving. Contacted dealer, and dealer was not willing to do anything.

Radiator fan motor not working properly and water pump failure caused engine to overheat. This then caused the engine head or gasket to fail. Also expect to find water pump impeller damage. These component failures have produced a very expensive repair estimate. By searching consumer complaints on this website, owners can plainly see that the cooling system failures are causeing extensive and costly damage to the vehicle engine. A recall is in effect for the fan motors, this does not address the damage caused to the vehicle engine by the failure of the fan motor. This vehicle was purchased used about 1 month ago, and I did not have a notice of vehicle recall on the radiator fan motor.

Consumer had taken vehicle to dealer for recall 00 V 367 000/ engine cooling fan repairs. After consumer took it back to dealer, they found out a bare wire wich was causing problem. A general manager said that they could not be responsible for what had happened, therefore nothing could be done. Consumer states after vehicle was returned it began to overheat, the check engine light would come and fuses were blown, consumer was infomred that the reason the fuses were blowing was because the recall that was performed on the engine cooling fan was done wrong and that was why vehicle was overheating, delaer then stated that additional repairs would not be covered due to the mileage.
After receiving recal on 00 V 367 000/ engine cooling fan consumer took vehicle to dealer for repairs. Upon receiving vehicle back from dealer, . two days later, vehicle overheated. Had to be towed back to dealer. Dealer stated nothing they did would have caused vehicle to overheat. Consumer insisted he never had this problem until it was taken to dealer for recall repairs on engine cooling fan.
Took car in for recall #00S44.the first time outside temp. Rised above 85 degrees the fan failed causing engine to shut down while operating on the highway @about 45 mph.vehicle had to be abandoned. White smoke poured out of the exhaust leading me to believe that the engine may be damaged as a result of heat. I want car repaired and loaner provided until my car is returned to me.
Consumer received notification that vehicle was included in engine cooling fan recall 00V367000. Consumer made three appointments to have vehicle serviced; however, dealer informed consumer that appointments were never put into computer and service was denied. On May 19th, 2001 there was an electrical fire in underhood wiring. Please provide any additional information/attachments.
