Engine continually overheated and would stall while traveling at any speed. Dealership replaced engine assembly with 78,200 miles on engine because of this problem. Second engine experienced overheating and stalling approximately 38,000 miles after engine components had been replaced. Consumer received a recall 00V367 for engine cooling fan after these problems had happened, and was informed by dealership that this vehicle would not be covered under this recall because it had over 100,000 miles on it.
Vehicle was overheating. Took vehicle to dealer who replaced engine cooling fan. This happened again in June of 2000. At this time, engine cooling fan needed replacement again. Vehicle not affected by recall.
My car was repaired under the safety recall notice for the engine cooling fans. This defect was not discovered and corrected until after it had also caused $1900 of collateral damage to the water pump and the A/C condenser and system. Ford contends these other items are my responsibility to repair ($1900). I contend they would not need repair had it not been for the defective fan assembly that failed.
Consumer contacted dealer in reference to recall number 00V367000/ manufacturer's recall 00S44.dealer corrected recall problem, after recall work has been corrected, consumer's vehicle experienced problems with battery draining out. Also, a noise was coming from front end when placing vehicle in gear or when vehicle was cut off. Consumer has contacted dealer.

Consumer received recall 000V367000 letter concerning engine cooling sysyem: Fan. Went to the dealer for scheduling an appointment. Dealer refused to correct recall problems, cause unknown.
While wating for dealership to receive parts to repair recall #00V367000/ 00S44 for engine cooling system. This vehicle suffered a fire in the engine compartment.
Vehicle had caught on fire, and owner replaced cooling fan. A week later, recall 00V36700/ manufacturer's recall 00S440vm13 arrived after repairs were done. Took vehicle to dealership. Mechanic refused to repair engine cooling fan due to owner having it repaired. Indicated nothing could be done. Owner contacted manufacturer who agreed with mechanic. Was informed NHTSA would be notified, told not to contact NHTSA.
Head gasket blewout, causing vehicle to overheat and smoke. There were no signs or warning light indicator. Vehicle had required large amounts of antifreeze and oil. Consumer received a recall on cooling fan. Questioned dealer if recall had anythng to do with gasket blowing. Dealer said they were not aware of any relationship. The vehicle would not start due to spark plug assembly failure and engine head gaskets failure.
Consumer contacted ft mill Ford for recall00V367000/ cooling fan several times, but dealer has not set up an appointment to perform recall repairs in timely manner. In meantime consumer is driving an unsafe vehicle.
Ford has a recall for engine cooling fan on some Ford Contour. This vehicle has that problem, but is not covered by recall. Dealer has told consumer this.
Stopped@store, smelled something burning (thought nothing of it), drove home, noticed same smell, opened hood and noticed fan was smoking, disconnected battery and haven't driven since. - Ford really needs to recall the fan.
