C-Max Hybrid

  • Automatic transmission
  • 20,000 miles

This is the third morning that my C-Max failed to start. The small battery was replaced the first time several months ago; the second time the dealer serviced the battery; and this time it was towed to the dealer. The Vehicle and they don't seem to know why this happens has 20,000 miles.

C-Max Hybrid LS

  • CVT transmission
  • 3,807 miles

At 3807 Miles, The regular Lead Acid Battery was DEAD at just 3807 miles so I had to call roadside assistance who then came and gave it a jump start and now it seems to be running fine again? But after he jumped it, a warning popped up that said Max Vehicle Speed 80 MPH The car was completely DEAD, I couldn't even shift gears to put it in neutral! The first indicators were the radio wouldn't come on while in park! I had to wait for just over one hour for the Roadside Assistance guy to show up. He said he's had to tow a lot of C-Max's, "You wouldn't believe how many of these I've had to tow already." Is what he said. Nothing was left on, the battery just drained out for no apparent reason.

C-Max Hybrid 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,100 miles

There was nothing left On using battery in the car. There was no explanation why battery had to be again jumped to get car running again.

My gas mileage at this point is only 38mpg as oppose to 47mpg claimed by Ford.

C-Max Hybrid 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 8,000 miles

Car was running for 2.5 hours after jump on Feb 12, yet day after in the morning battery was dead. Like before nothing was left running inside or outside the car. So what is the reason for dead battery?

I learned that a lot of C-Max owners complain about the same problem I have with C-Max electrical system/battery. As before, no explanation why battery discharged over the night or during the day.

C-Max Hybrid Don't Know Hybrid

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,500 miles

All 3 of the CMax hybrids in our small town have recurrent issues with the battery being dead morning following after normal use. Seems random. Dealer has no idea what the problem is or how to fix.

C-Max Hybrid

  • Manual transmission
  • 2,100 miles

This car is a lemon. We have had multiple problems with things not working. Navigation, radio, voice command.... It just stops working. We had to take it to dealership once to reprogram. Most time the problems will work when we shut off the car a restart it. But, last Friday the car was completely dead! Called the towing company to take to dealership. They recharged the battery and said they didn't know what the problem is. Let's talk about the mileage misrepresentation..... We haven't ever gotten close the to advertised 47 mpg. It's closer to 38 if we drive it like it very carefully. I don't like the radio scanning feature either. To scan through the presets on the steering control, you need to scroll down from the beginning every time. This is very annoying. Voice prompts are problematic too. I usually just end up making the adjustments manually. Wish I would have bought a Prius......
