Important saftey recall N49/NHTSA 13V-529: The left tie rod ball stud on the truck may fracture under certain driving conditions. This could cause a loss of directional control and/or crash without warning. The 2500 Dodge Ram was purchase to tow a 27foot rv. This is its primary purpose. Since I received the recall notice (Jan 2014), I've contacted folsom Dodge (folsom, ca) each month. I am told that they do not have the parts to make the repairs, and that there are over 100 trucks ahead of my truck. Folsom Dodge will call me, but I have not received a call back from them. I have called on the following dates: Jan 27, 2014; Feb 21, 2014; Mar 21, 2014; Apr 25, 2014; May 23, 2014; Jun 20, 2014; and Jul 7, 2014. I am call every two weeks. This is now "camping" season. This repair must be made as soon as possible. It's been over 7 months and still no parts"???" really!!!!! each time we take the rv out, we are risking our lives unnecessarily. This is unacceptable.

Ram 2500 6-cyl Diesel

Recall N49 / NHTSA 13V-529 I have been waiting to get the recall work done on my 2009 Dodge Ram 2500 since December 1 2013. My local Dodge dealer, (don K Dodge Chrysler and Jeep in whitefish Montana) said they put me on a list of customers for the same recall. I have stopped in once a month (6 times) since I was put on the list. During my last visit, I was told by the service manager that there were 137 people in line ahead of me. The service manager also informed me that Dodge is only allowing them parts to do one recall repair every two weeks. From my calculations, that puts my wife, three kids and I 5.25 years of at risk driving before my truck will be able to have the defective parts replaced. I would like my truck to be repaired as soon as possible, as I cannot afford to buy another one. 7 months of waiting to find out it will be 5 more years is not reasonable at all. I sincerely hope to get this issue resolved in the near future. Thanks for your time.

Chrysler safety recall N49/NHTSA 13V-329. I received this notice on Jan 6, 2014. The stated problem is "the left tie rod ball stud on your truck may fracture under certain driving conditions. This could cause a loss of directional control and/or crash without warning." I contacted my dealer on Jan 7, 2014 to schedule a service appointment to make this repair. I was put on as waiting list due to a low supply of replacement parts available from Chrysler. It is now May 28(5 months later), and still do not know when this repair will be made. My question to you is, do you have data which somehow establishes a likelihood of this event happening?
