I own a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 cummins truck and within three years my dash started falling apart. I approached the dealer with this issue but unfortunately my warranty was up 1000 miles ago. I didn't want to pay the 600 bucks for the replacement dash installed so I purchased one from the dealer and installed it myself. I take very good care of my vehicle so I couldn't stand having my truck look like crap. Well my new dash is now even worse than the first dash. I just cant believe Dodge would let such an inferior product be used on their trucks. I thought they were supposed to be Ram tuff"?? I have had vehicles that were over 20 years old and the dash was fine how could a 7 year old vehicle go through 2"

The dash is falling out and has cracks all over it. The dash has had a dash cover on it since it was driven of the Dodge lot. The dash needs replacing by Dodge as a safety recall.
I have a Dodge 2001 2500 Ram truck that has deteriorated before my eyes. It has large gaping holes over the whole thing and the dash continues to crumble. I purchased this vehicle in angleton, Texas directly off the lot, but have received no help with this potential dangerous problem. I'm afraid that it will develop electrical and various problems due to this problem. I would appreciate any help you are able to provide.
I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 which I take great care of. I cleaned, waxed, detail it once or twice a week. Five-six months ago while I was wiping off my dash I gashed one of my fingers really bad, after I got the bleeding to stop I went back to clean up the blood and find out what I had cut it one. I was vary upset to find a large crack in my dashboard. I thought at that time maybe it was the cleaner I was using so I changed brands. Now I have around 10 huge cracks that makes my dash look like a ugly jigsaw puzzle. Which my 2 yr. Old daughter thought looked neat until she got her finger pinched in one of the cracks. After that I started the process of trying to find a cheaper replacement on the web because Chrysler is trying to become rich off there replacement dash board, I came across this site - www.carcomplaints.com/Dodge/ram_1500/2001/accessories-interior/cracked_dashboard.shtml ) it is not right that Chrysler now knows they installed defective parts that can cause bodily harm and expect their paying customer to pay for their lack of quality control issues.
The dashboard is cracking badly. We were told it wasn't covered under warranty. The cracks are very large and span the whole dashboard from driver's side to passenger side and up the middle. This is a 2001 Dodge Ram pickup.
I have a multiple cracks in the dashboard of my 2001 Dodge Ram 2500. I am now starting to get cracking in my instrument panel bezzle. I am the original owner, and the truck has never been in a wreck. Not a big Dodge fan at the moment and neither are the people that take a ride in my truck.
2001 Dodge Ram 2500 dashboard cracking. Consumer stated that he saw more complaints like this on the internet. He states that his dashboard has completely cracked.
One day in the summer of 2007, I noticed a small crack in the dashboard of my 2001 Dodge Ram 2500. Later, many cracks appeared and portions of the dashboard have actually fallen through into the electrical components and gauges. This has caused a few instances of the lights and gauges to malfunction at times.
As soon as vehicle ran out of bumper to bumper warranty the dash board started to crack and is falling out. It is a safety hazard if you get into a accident as pieces of dash will be going everywhere.
The dashboard on our 2001 Dodge Ram pickup cracked only after a year. We took it so the dealership in mcalester, ok (riverside Dodge) and they refused to fix it. They said it was not covered under warranty. Now there is an 8 inch hole in the dashboard and numerous cracks over the entire surface and even on the inside trim work. Since first reporting this, it has come to my attention that there are hundreds if not thousands of vehicles exactly like ours with the same problem. We feel that Dodge/Chrysler needs to recall this and take care of this dangerous problem. We have seen and heard of reports on the internet about electrical problems, etc that worries us too.
2001 Dodge 2500 with multiple cracks in dash with pieces falling out. I am concerned that the pieces falling out could cause an electrical fire, or damage wiring that could cause one of the required vehicle systems to fail and cause and accident. Additionally, I am concerned that the broken pieces could hurt a passenger if an accident occurs due to the jagged sharp edges or pieces being thrown by airbag deployment. After reading forums, I am sure that there are thousands of Dodge trucks with the same problem that I have described, and feel that the manufacturing defect requires a recall of the defective parts before anymore people are hurt or killed.
2001 Dodge Ram 2500 cummins diesel dash board cracking and breaking apart. I spent a lot of money on this vehicle for it to start falling apart on its own. It seems to be a widespread problem across the Dodge Ram cummins arena I have seen it in 17 different Dodge Ram with the cummins in fayetteville North Carolina alone. Looking around on the internet for answers to my problem only indicates that this problem is very common in this vehicle equipped with the cummins engine. The only recourse is to buy a stock replacement for about $1,000 dollars or buy a cap to cover the old one.
I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 cummins diesel. The dash has cracked in it. The cracks are unsightly. One spot where the dash cracked a piece actually fell in to the dash cavity, this has to be a fire hazard. Anyway, I have done some research, and it seems that a lot of people have had this problem.
