The dashboard of the vehicle has completely cracked and busted leaving a giant hole in it. Leaving all the wires and heater vents exposed. This happened just with normal driving of vehicle no crashes or anything ever hit it to cause the problem.
2001 Dodge 2500 and similar models. Dash boards crack and break apart completely resulting in much of the dash being gone. Reports of airbag deployment from broken pieces inside dash. Recommend a recall of all model vehicles 1994-2002 Dodge pickup trucks to fix the problem. I have had to remove the fuses on my vehicle to prevent airbag deployment due to the fact that my dash is completely disintegrated, and airbag light came on. I have also cut my hands on the sharp edges of the broken dash pieces.
2001 Dodge Ram - the dashboard started cracking and has since cracked from front to back and now into the front trim pieces. Dash pieces are now falling out and popping out while driving. This is distracting and dangerous. I am concerned the cracks may affect the deployment of the passenger airbag in the case of a collision. Thousands of the same reports are visible across the internet. This should be a mandatory recall. Chrysler refuses to fix as this is not a "recall item".
My 2001 Dodge Ram fell completely apart from the dashboard, it is no longer there. Anymore, , and I hear odd sounds coming from the inside of the dash.

I have a 2001 Dodge 2500 4X4 and the dash is falling apart rapidly. I had two small cracks a week ago and now I have a new one that extends from my windshield to my radio. Now I'm worried its going to sink in and cause electrical problem that could potentially lead to a fire.
Dodge Ram 2500 quad cab- dashboard cracking from defroster vent back; occurring in many places. I have read of this happening to many of these trucks. Dealer will not address issue. Truck has less than 40,000 miles.
Dashboard has cracked causing a safety hazard with the driver and passenger airbag. Dashboard has so many cracks in it that it is beyond repair. The dash continues to crack more as time goes by and will eventually cave in from loss of structural integrity around it.
I own a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 that I bought new. It has 115,753 miles to this date. The truck is kept under a shed 90% of the time and still looks great on the outside. I recently noticed a crack in the dash bezel and now have large cracks all over the top of the dash. I have read and seen many Dodge trucks with this same problem. The cracks turn into large holes with sharp edges. As many complaints as I have seen just on the internet, this has got to be a manufacturing defect. I have only been searching on the computer for less than an hour and have found hundreds of complaints. I know that this is a 7 year old truck, but it has been taken care of. I have had many small problems with my truck since it was new, but nothing that I thought was a widespread problem. I usually just have fixed what is broke, but from what I have read this problem will just come back again. I should not be responsible for repairing something that broke on its on over and over again. If I knew that a new dash would fix the problem, I would not any problem going out and buying one. But many people have done this exact thing and are still in the same situation. Dodge needs to be held responsible for their mistakes and fix them. If they came out with a new dash and told me that they would stand behind it, I would go out and buy it. But that is not the case. Thank you for your time.
2001 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel with a cracking dash. The plastic used in the dash is of extremely poor quality. Dash has numerous cracks that run the entire span of the dash. Wires are exposed and who knows if the airbags will deploy in an accident. Dodge refuses to do anything about the problem.
Dashboard has cracked and huge chunks are falling off the dash in turn exposing the wiring and such to the sun. Not sure when it started, I have contacted Dodge via email off an don since the problem started.
The vehicle has been in my possession and well maintained since 2003. The dash has started to crack and is now falling apart in large pieces. The dealer refused to do anything about this because he stated it was cosmetic. Dodge will not do anything because the dealer will not acknowledge the problem. This is a safety issue. The pieces of the dash could cause severe lacerations in a collision. This seems to be a flaw in the plastic because there are more people having the same problem. The plastics company should be held accountable for this flaw and a recall should be done.
Dashboard has completely disintegrated into small and large pieces that fall onto the electrical wiring harness to completely destroy the dashboard. This is an extremely dangerous safety hazard. This has all happened within six months of my purchase of the vehicle a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 turbo diesel. There are hundreds if not thousands of other people who own the same vehicle who have the same problem with their dashboard cracking then falling apart. Clearly a manufacturer defect.
