This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
I went to go to town, opened the driver's door, started working the lever to raise the seat, next thing I knew there was a loud bang and the headrest exploded. There was a small piece of black plastic that landed in the seat. The vehicle was sitting in my driveway, the ignition was still off.
My airbag light keeps coming on and going off. My ABS light stays off after starting and while driving. Now my brake light is on. The brake pops on after I began to drive and stays on.
My car started shaking stopped abruptly the middle of the road and I was almost rear ended. I found out that the problem was a 'crank sensor' I have since had it repaired but wanted to report how dangerous this is. I did some research and found that the same make a year had been recalled due to this issue and I was wondering why my VIN # was not. Can you help me so that this issue won't happen again and a reimbursement had well,
Shortly after purchasing my vehicle, I started having problems with it. The traction control light, ABS light and service AWD light came on. The car wouldn't let me accelerate upon the initial acceleration. I would have to either slam on the brakes hard or push the acceleration all the way to the floor. I took it back to where I got it from and they said it was the right front passenger ABS sensor that went bad. They fixed it and it was fine. Here we are 3 months later and the issue is happening again.
My tension pulley bolts broke off half the bolts are still left inside. I've never had this car worked on never had to for no more than just a oil change for no reason the tension pulley just dropped off with the belt when I started the car at my job
Takata recall turning left onto a main road the car slowed down and stopped in the middle of traffic. Would not start again, could not be jumped. Towed to Dodge & they said its crankshaft sensor and they are charging way too much when I find on here it was recalled December 2016; we must have not had the vehicle yet.
The lift gate prop rods went out unexpectedly and came back down on my neck, shoulders and back. I was trying to load groceries in the back when it fell back down on me.
After downloading the reports for test 9471 and 9472, I am unable to open the pdf. I get an error that the file is damaged. This happens to me on numerous occasions when downloading vehicle test reports.
My crankshaft is going out we got the vehicle checked due to the engine light turning on. We noticed there was a recall the crankshaft for the 2016 Dodge Journey
ABS system light comes on and off at will and this would be the 2nd time in about a year last time the ABS light has done this last time it caused the brakes to lock down resulting it an non-injury accident also it would not clear after repairs and computer reset
5-10-18 had to bring my vehicle in for a new tire and prior to the tire, the ABS light would intermittently pop on and off. This would happen mostly after I started the vehicle and after backing up and traveling a few feet, it would sound and feel like it would catch and grind, then release after traveling about a mile, it would go off. When I brought it in to get the tire replaced, I asked them to look at it, they said the ABS light was coming on because the battery was faulty and they replaced the battery. (I think maybe they just reset something) I asked them to give me an itemized list of parts changed for the work, and I never received it. I only received the invoice for the tire. Now.... rear ended in Dec 27, 2018 - between the accident and time it took holidays/insurance to get me an appointment with dealer, the ABS light started to pop on again and the radio screen grayed out and came back on(so far that has only happened once). My husband let them know to check that as well because there was impact damage on the left front bumper and dealer only repaired the damages reported by adjuster and didn't address the ABS/radio issue. So..... now what? feel like they just put a band aid on it until the warranty ran out and then again after damage sustained in an accident that was not my fault.
Vehicle while drive fine for many miles usually after driving on the highway but when I need to make a turn it becomes difficult for the vehicle to accelerate and will suddenly jerk forward or pop. My car was recently serviced due to the drive shaft cracking in an abnormal way according to mechanics which costed $4200 I expected the issue to be solved after the repair but it seems to have gotten worse there was a humming sound now while turning I'm afraid the problem may be manufacturer related since it's happening again after the repair
