The contact owns a 2016 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that the vehicle completely shut off while driving 25 mph. In addition, the check engine indicator illuminated, the power steering seized, and the brakes stopped working. The contact steered the vehicle to the side of the road and it rolled to a stop. The vehicle was towed to fred martin superstore (3195 barber rd, barberton, oh 44203, (330) 753-4444) where it was diagnosed that the crankshaft position sensor failed. The dealer confirmed that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 42,194. Consumer stated there are recalls on other 2016 Dodge Journeys for problems with the crankshaft sensor. I think they need to include other models.

The contact owns a 2016 Dodge Journey. While operating the vehicle, the ABS and traction control indicators remained illuminated. Also, the cruise control stopped operating. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the front passenger side wheel bearing sensor was faulty and needed to be replaced. The sensor was replaced and the failure was remedied; however, the failure recurred approximately one year later. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 39,000.

I was driving my 2016 Dodge Journey crossroad and the ABS lights came on and then I felt my car jerk like it was going to stall. I tried to get off the freeway and my car stalled out. I put it in drive and it would stall again. It sounded like the engine was going to fall out of my car. It would stall out even in reverse. It would only run in park. The tow truck driver said it sounds like the crank shaft or transmission. My car is only 3yrs old and well taken care of. No check engine light came on, the scanner wouldn't read any error codes. I am currently waiting on the mechanic to look at it this weekend, my 9month old niece and I almost died by being rear ended by traffic coming off the off ramp.

"sometimes" the ABS and traction control light turn on. I hear a ticking noise for a few seconds.. if I push on the breaks I can hear a grinding noise. The lights always turn off after a minute or two and the grinding noise only happens when both the ABS and tracking lights are on.

The contact owns a 2016 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that the ABS warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to turnersville Jeep Chrysler Dodge Ram (3100 NJ-42, erial, NJ 08081, (856) 316-7956) where they replaced the front sensor and hub bearing. The failure recurred and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer, but they did not have the unspecified part available. The contact was informed that the vehicle was safe to drive in the interim. While driving, the contact's vehicle failed to stop and rear ended another vehicle. The grill of the contact's vehicle was damaged. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was driven back to the dealer and they replaced the ABS part after the crash. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that they wanted to examine the vehicle. The manufacturer concluded that there was no malfunction with the brakes after the repairs from the crash were already completed. The manufacturer stated that the bearings were the cause of the failure. The contact felt that the dealer was responsible for the crash. The failure mileage was 19,960. Consumer stated repairs were done but adjustor asked consumer to bring in the car.

'takata recall' in less than a year the ABS light have come on. The first time it ever came on was stopping for a red light on the highway the vehicle kept going. Second time less than a year later the light has come back on and you have to press the brakes then release and and press the brakes again for the vehicle to stop adequately.

5-10-18 had to bring my vehicle in for a new tire and prior to the tire, the ABS light would intermittently pop on and off. This would happen mostly after I started the vehicle and after backing up and traveling a few feet, it would sound and feel like it would catch and grind, then release after traveling about a mile, it would go off. When I brought it in to get the tire replaced, I asked them to look at it, they said the ABS light was coming on because the battery was faulty and they replaced the battery. (I think maybe they just reset something) I asked them to give me an itemized list of parts changed for the work, and I never received it. I only received the invoice for the tire. Now.... rear ended in Dec 27, 2018 - between the accident and time it took holidays/insurance to get me an appointment with dealer, the ABS light started to pop on again and the radio screen grayed out and came back on(so far that has only happened once). My husband let them know to check that as well because there was impact damage on the left front bumper and dealer only repaired the damages reported by adjuster and didn't address the ABS/radio issue. So..... now what? feel like they just put a band aid on it until the warranty ran out and then again after damage sustained in an accident that was not my fault.

I started my vehicle first thing in the morning and my ABS light and the traction control light were on while the vehicle was in park. And my car made a loud noise while braking normally just pulling up to a stop sign. The light went off after 10 minutes and then I got to work and turned my car off. After with I turned the car on and the light had come back on and I was having the same issue. I noticed this was a recall for previous years from 2012-2015 of the same vehicle reporting similar issues. Please help.

Several months after having new tires put on my SUV, I noticed the service AWD, traction control, and ABS lights were on continuously on my panel when in motion and upon learning the ignition button. Sometimes they'd go off either moving or stationary but then as 2 months passed, they'd remain on at all times. I wasn't able to engage cruise control when those lights were on. I had 2 near accidents from nearly hitting 2 large deer. I hit my brakes and my tires did but wasn't to grip the road and just felt like they were on ice (in summer). When they would grip they made a loud noise and then I was able to stop but not without smelling burnt rubber. I have heard from a friend of mine that is a mechanic that he had a feeling it was my ABS sensor but didnt have access to a Dodge diagnostic system as he works for a different dealership. Ive heard from different people that this has been a "common" problem recently with Journeys. I paid 97 dollars for a diagnostic forma non-dealer garage and they confirmed it was my right front ABS sensor and it was a manufacturer defect. I called the Dodge dealership and I was not informed when I brought it in there for the recall that it was under warranty. I brought my SUV in and the advisor didn't believe it was my sensor until it was replaced. I was informed that the Journeys have been coming in by the dozen over this issue and all over the U.S. that was the only sensor checked and replaced and my warranty is about done. Please investigate have 3 kids with special needs and I don't want accidents for anyone over this issue. My kids nearly lost me last year in a terrible accident. My vehicle was serviced Oct. 2018

While driving my car it would shake/jolt when going down hill and pressing the brakes. I have taken it to the dealer who said that the rotors were warped and needed replaced, saying that this was due to the way I drove the car through the mountains/down hill. At this point I had only had the car short of two months. They also said that the brakes would need replaced due to this wear. This is a fairly new vehicle only a year old at the time. How is this possible? I am told that this is "normal wear" and not covered under warranty. I had a Dodge durango previously, went over the mountain 20+ times over one year and did not have to replace brakes or rotors and in the 10 years I had the durango never needed rotors replaced.... faulty manufacturing in the Dodge Journey 2016 if you ask

Little over 30K miles. About 47 mph on a 45 highway and needed to veer right. I had my music turned up and instead of breaking I allowed the car to coast so the speed would drop before my turn I needed to make.. when I dropped to a speed I was happy with, then I start breaking and thats when I realized the car had cut off, the steering wheel locked up, and the brakes became tougher to push. It was a busy highway and a just as busy right turn that I was trying to make. I had to throw the car in neutral to restart while still rolling or I would have been hit.

While driving/turning my car seems to halt and make a grunting/rubbing noise. I have taken it to the dealer several times who says there is not a problem. However, they have had me replace my brakes pads and rotors twice in the last 10 months. Something is wrong and I believe that whatever the problem is continues to damage my brake pads and rotors.

On July 22, 2017, I tried to start my car and it wouldn't start. I called a tow truck company and they tried to charge the vehicle to no avail. They towed the vehicle to kendall Dodge Chrysler and Jeep. The vehicle sat at the dealer for over 8 days. When I received the vehicle back it still had electrical issue. I took the vehicle back in and they repaired the electrical issues again. In February of this year the while I was driving with my four kids in the car (2 of which are under the age of 3) the antilock brake light turned on and the car stopped on its own. After accelerator was tough to touch. I took the car to the dealer and they told me the car was no longer under warranty and I will have to pay for the repairs. I called Dodge directly and they called the dealer and the told them to repair the car. The dealer still gave me a hard time and would not give me a rental car. They made me call Dodge again and have them authorize a rental. The car is now giving me electrical issues again along with the antilock brake light turning on sporadically and when I called Dodge directly they told me they are going to send a tech to check the vehicle out. If they can recreate the problem then I would have to wait for the problem to happen again. I can not wait for the antilock brakes to lock up again with my kids in the car. The vehicle clearly has a recurring electrical issue that can not be fixed. This vehicle is a danger to me and my family it is a time bomb waiting to explode with the antilock brake locking up while I'm driving or even parked in my driveway. I contacted Dodge and expressed my issues with this car being a lemon and they want me to continue to try to fix the problem and continue to endanger my life and my kids life.

I have been having issues with several things. First when I stop the car it acts like it doesn't want to stop. It will actually come to a bumpy stop finally. Another issue is that the check engine light keeps coming on. After having the computer checked the code was for the catalick converter not functioning. The last issue happened yesterday and wheni was driving my car decided to decelerate for no reason. I was luck I was on a farm market road and not a major highway. I have checked for recalls on my vehocle via VIN number. However my specific VIN is not listed, but I am experiencing some of the same problems that are associated with the recalls. The dealership will not help because my vehicle is not listed in the recall list. I fear that I am going to get in a wreck before this company recalls all of its defective vehicles!

I was driving 65 mph in a middle lane on the freeway when my engine suddenly stalled out. I lost the ability to steer or brake, and my vehicle quickly lost speed. I barely managed to get to the side of the freeway before it completely stopped. I called my husband to come get me, and he managed to restart it and drove it home while I followed in our truck. About 5 miles down the road, the engine stalled out on him. We took it to the Dodge dealership, and the mechanic who took it for a test drive freaked out when the problem happened to him with my husband in the passenger seat. However, they found nothing wrong with the vehicle and refuse replace any of the recalled parts from 2016 Dodge Journey's relating to the engine stalling out because they insist my car was manufactured a couples of weeks before the recall goes into effect. My concern is for my three toddlers who were sitting in the back seat and nearly got killed. I have called Dodge repeatedly about this, but they haven't fixed it yet or given me a reason why my one year old car is so dangerous.

Brakes started to squeak and grind. The front was replaced after 3 visits to the dealership. The truck is delayed when accelerating and slips when accelerating in drive.
