The vehicle doors will often unlock after leaving the vehicle. The doors are locked, the doors are closed and when about 3 feet from the car, sometimes the doors will unlock themselves. This happens intermittently. The key fob is in the drivers pocket, by itself.

Bought this wonderful (not) car to replace my minivan. Within the first month, when I would put my cell phone in the "cave" under the radio, the radio would scan. Did this multiple times and eventually when I opened the doors (a couple of times), the radio actually muted, ,,,they checked it out and they replaced the radio, then something else to do with the radio....butttt, it still does it. Mentioned that while driving through country roads, the read end gets loose. After he asked me 1) do you drive fast through on the country roads and 2) do I live in in the country (both no answers), they "checked it out" and bam....new shocks on the back. Kinda miffed that they questioned my driving ability actually. I told them that the transmission seemed to shift weird. They checked it out and said there was an "upgrade" that could be done, and they did it. Seemed to work for a while, but it is doing it again. Turned the rear wiper on and off (light rain) and it kept going. I did not push the washer option, and know how to work a rear wiper, but when I mentioned that to them, they looked at me like I was an idiot and explained how the washer option works. But of course, they could find nothing wrong with it. With my next oil change, they are checking on the creaking sound that it makes while driving on bumpy roads at slow speeds....they think that it is the bearings in my leaf spring, but sounds like when we had to replace a strut on my van. All in all, I like the room and setup of the inside of the car, but boy....I have never paid so much for a lemon in my life!! and....guess who didn't buy the extended warranty"???" you guessed it.

I purchased this car in Feb 2015. Family and I drove 900 miles from ga to NJ for a funeral. The car would not start, no lights, power steering, nothing! the non-Chrysler dealer blamed Chrysler and Chrysler blamed the non-Chrysler dealer. Chrysler roadside picked up the car Saturday morning and took it to a NJ Chrysler dealer for repair. My family and I had to return to ga on Sunday night. No one provided us with a rental car to return home. We had to secure/pay for a rental vehicle on our own. On Monday (2 days later) the NJ Chrysler dealer had not looked at the car. On Tuesday (3 days later) the NJ Chrysler dealer told me it was the BCM (body control module) = one of the computers and the part was on backorder with no eta. This car had 18K miles and a 2014 when I bought it less than 4 months earlier. I called Chrysler warranty that assigned a case manager. On Wednesday (4 days later) case manager contacted me to submit my receipts for rental car reimbursement, they have a rental car for me in NJ and not ga, and trying to expedite backorder part. I told the case manager that I don't need the rental in NJ, I need it in ga. Have not heard from her since. I am so disappointed in the lack of quality customer service I received from the everyone involved. I am afraid to drive this vehicle from NJ to ga as what is being told to me will be the case in order for me to get the car back. This car is still under warranty and provisions should be made to accommodate me for the repair and inconvenience. I have not received either from Chrysler corporation or the non-Chrysler dealer. I will never by a Chrysler or recommend it to someone.

While driving my car my radio would black out at first I thought I was going crazy then at random points and speeds over the next few weeks my radio screen would go out for a few seconds and turn back on then it turned into the heating controls and now I have had the radio replaced but it still blacks out and now my heat has started turning on by it self I am afraid that my car may gradually start to just turn off.

Roughly 1 month after purchasing vehicle the radio screen would fade out and turn black. After several visits and updates at the dealership, we involved corporate who instructed the dealership to replace the radio. The vehicle is still having similar issues, but now the entire dash, air/heat, and radio will shut off for a brief second and then the radio will power on. Corporate is still involved and now they are saying they had not replaced the radio, but the touchscreen. Now, we have yet another rental. Our vehicle has begun shocking passengers as they exit. This is not a tiny shock, but a painful jolt that impacts the passengers on a regular basis. The process of getting my new vehicle properly fixed has been a complete nightmare. I have been a Dodge customer for years, purchasing several vehicles, but never again. The lack of customer service is a joke and I am concerned for the safety of my family while driving this vehicle!

Our 2014 Dodge Journey was parked for 5 days while we were on a bus trip. We returned on a cold winter night in December. Vehicle battery was dead. Used emergency key to open driver's door but obviously all electrical stuff was dead. Fortunately, our friends had jumper cables. We got the vehicle started and returned home without incident. Left vehicle parked in garage for 5 days and couldn't repeat problem. Still don't trust leaving it parked for more than a day or so because it smells like the same problem I have with my 2013 Chrysler 300C. The 300 had another problem of stalling on the highway. Journey has most of the same body and engine electronic controllers as the Chrysler which wouldn't start in my garage. I would have to jump-start it. By the time I drove the 300 to the dealer, generator charged the battery and dealer couldn't repeat the problem. This cycle with the 300 was repeated a 2nd time a week later. Dealer installed service bulletin controller updates but claimed they were unrelated to my problem. Bought and use a trickle charger now because I don't trust either car. I think Chrysler has an issue with their electronics. Hope they're not covering it up like Ford with their ignition key. My next letter is going to [xxx] (fca CEO). I was slowing down and turning right into my driveway when the engine stalled. I was going 8 mph when I noticed I had no power steering and the rpms were at 0. my engine stalled for no reason. I have push button start/ignition, so this is not a case of a heavy keychain moving the ignition into auxiliary or off mode.. this is my wife's car and she drives my son and daughter everywhere. I am very worried this could happen in a dangerous situation or at higher speed! I'm not a mechanic, but I have noticed with the V6/auto 6 speed transmission, this car has very strange shifting programs / "curves". it seems to shift early and sometimes when slowing down, it's like the transmission doesn't downshift quickly enough. That may be the cause for what it's worth. Bottom line, I need to know it's not going to do this again with my family in the car!

When driving the vehicle the main screen radio/air control as well as dash board will go black, it is almost like the vehicle will cut off going down the road and after a few seconds everything will work again. I have had this problem since I bought it and before the first oil change was due after having to commute to work long distance for a few months and now having 14,000 on it I am still having this issue and cant seem to get Dodge to fix the problem all they want to do is updates well after 7/8 months we all know updates are a waste and just away for you to say you don't know what's wrong or don't want to fix it because it cost to much. The customer services is a joke and I spent way to much money on a new SUV to have this much trouble. Stay away from Journeys.........

The vehicle will fail to start initially. After several attempts the vehicle will start and the check engine light will appear. Also sometimes while driving the vehicle will cut out and the dash will go blank and have all of the warning lights illuminated, I.e. ABS, airbags, ESC, TPMS, engine mil, and service AWD. The wipers will turn on by themselves and the blinkers or hazard lights wont work. This is concerning due to the lack of availability to warn other drivers on the road.
