In the past two years I have had multiple electrical problems. The A/C turns on all on its own. The radio changes channels on its own but most important this morning 23 Oct 2019 my 2014 Dodge Journey completely shutdown while I was making a right hand turn. Luckily I was able to get off the road safely.

The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Journey. While driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle decelerated without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the computer system was failing. The vehicle was taken to paul sherry Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram (937-778-0830, located at 8645 N county road 25A, piqua, oh 45356) where the technician diagnosed and replaced the throttle body. In addition, the ABS and traction control indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer where it was diagnosed that the wiring harness was corroded and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that a recall repair was performed in 2018 per NHTSA campaign number: 15V675000 (electronic stability control, service brakes, hydraulic). The contact was informed that a portion of the wiring harness may be repaired free of charge. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

My cruise control quit working and the traction control light came on and it wouldn't turn off. The doors started locking and unlocking by themselves. I went to church and stopped at food city afterwards. I started the vehicle and put it in reverse and I can smell something weird and it was like the brake was stuck and it was holding back. I proceeded because I was in traffic and needed to move. Acceleration was limited but I made it home which was less than a mile. When stopped there was smoke rolling out from under the front passenger side area and there was fluids running all over the ground. This was a very dangerous situation because I had my children in the car. There is a scrubbing and pecking noise but it sounds like it's coming from the rear end. I have had nothing but problems with this vehicle. Check engine light is on but it's been on. I've had it checked and shows nothing wrong and had it turned off and it continues to come on. Alternator has been replaced as well as new battery. It seems to have electrical issues with the doors locking and unlocking. So dangerous! affects steering and control of vehicle and could cause a fire and not be able to get out of the vehicle. After seeing all of the reviews and problems with these vehicles they all need to be recalled because none of them are safe because it's obvious that the dealerships don't even know how to fix them. If they attempt one issue there are even more issues that occur. The repairs are costly and this is happening way too often with too many Journeys. Then we are stuck with a lemon to pay for and no vehicle because of these costly repairs along with the dangers imposed. Please recall these dangerous and repair costly vehicles! they don't need to be on the roads. Problems started not long after purchase but they have escalated and have gotten more serious, dangerous, and costly.

On approximately 6-8 different occasions in the last 3 years, my 2014 Dodge Journey has shut itself off while I've been driving it. The first 3 times I was driving straight & after the 3rd time, the dealer replaced the crank shaft sensor but it continued to happen. There seemed to be nothing to note when it would happen, until recently, it shut off on 2 occasions when I went over a bump & going in a forward motion in both cases. The first time I was going 55mph, the 2nd 25mph so not sure the speed had anything to do with it. Brought it back to dealer & they did an engine control module update. This was one week ago and it happened again today. I was again in a forward motion, actually just started accelerating from a red light, so was probably not going more than 35-40mph when it happened. I felt like this is an issue your organization needed to know about on many levels but the largest one for me is as a full-time mom. I have had my son in the car with me on almost every one of these occasions and to say it's terrifying would be an understatement. Everything on the car locks and I have about 3 seconds to try and guide my car out of traffic without getting hit. The car does restart once you put it in park and push the ignition button but I would not wish this fear on my worst enemy. Hope this helps in some way. Btw, today I immediately drove my car to my husband at work and he will be driving it back to the dealership today until they can hopefully fix it for good. Although at this point, if I never saw that car again, it'd be too soon.

About three weeks ago, the ABS and check light came on, I researched recalls and took car to schlossmann's Dodge city. I was advised that due to weather and water leaking into wire harness that it was corroded. In which this is the basis of the R61 recall. However, since my issue is with left wheel sensor and not the front right, it is not covered. I am wondering what the difference is - if the result and cause is the same - why would it not be covered" I have also noticed that the cruise control no longer works - is this related"

I have taken my vehical to the dealership because the air bag sensor keeps turning off and on. When I get there it off. The say they can not replicate the problem.. I am afraid the airbag is going to deploy while I am driving. Next the power that control the radio amd bluetooh will justbstop working while driving. The screen will go black and then power cycle itself as if I just turn the car on. I believe there is a major electrical problem.

Anyone else have this issue?

There are more problems with the car. There have been nothing but problems with this car since I bought it when it was brand new. It's only 4 years old. It leaks oil now too! I feel very unsafe driving this car with my children in it. There have been 9 recalls and now I see there are 2 that I haven't had done. This should be a lemon. This car is unsafe and I am still paying on this car. A car that has nothing but steering, electrical, air bag, engine and other numerous problems. I should be able to give this car back and walk away from it. This car is not safe! no one should be driving it! I had my oil changed and the next day it said I needed my oil changed. The driver window screeches, the steering wheel locks up, the car lags when I go to break. When I try to accelerate the car stalls and revs super high. The engine smells as if it were on fire. It's not safe. I'm very upset. I have 3 little children. I need my car to be safe and reliable. This car is neither. There has been nothing but problems since I got this car. But I'd have it fixed and then something else would happen. Now more is happening. Things I thought had been fixed even! please this car is a lemon. It needs to be destroyed so no one is able to drive it again.

Wife got into car to go to store told me done lights would not go off. I tried every switch in the car but nothing would turn them off. I sent her to store anyway knowing that battery would not die in that amount of time. Wife returned from grocery store stating something smells hot. I looked in car again and I also smelled burnt wiring. I looked at the middle seat light and saw smoke. I quickly popped the lens off the dome light and saw dripping melting plastic. I disconnected the light and tossed it out in the lawn. Dodge sent an inspector to look at the event and I received a letter stating that any done light will become hot if left on. I asked them if they were supposed to smoke, melt and almost drip on a 3 year old child's head. Even the harness melted. They don't think this is a big deal but I believe (and other people have looked at it ) believe it is. Very dangerous! I've left a dome light on in many cars over the years and none started melting. I've tried to relay this to Dodge but can't get anyone but a level 1 person to talk to. I'm really beside myself on this. I can't understand how this is a big deal. I'm hoping by contacting this Agency I can get a resolution and possibly prevent someone from getting seriously injured.

'takata recall' I've contacted sacramento Chrysler, Jeep Dodge, Ram store with updates to the appointment date and time. I get incompetent phone receptionist that transfer to a supposed person to take my information down. Yet I don't receive any calls. I drove down there and they tell me I have to call as they are pre booked all week. I go to the customer service desk and ask for a manager and get told which one do you want? I said a general manager. She replies we'll go sit over there it's gonna be a while. The treatment as if they don't need anyone's service. I would pay for the repairs and have them reimbursed at this point it's looking like I have a lemon!

As I will be driving the gps screen and radio will just shut off. It will reset itself and continue to do this as I drive. Sometimes it will do this when I brake, but it will also just do this when I am driving. It has been happening for as long as I have been driving this car. Also the A/C will turn on by itself and continue to turn itself on as I drive.

The driver seat seat belt alarm comes on and stays on, even when the seat belt is on. Also, the entire electrical system in the driver seat isn't working. The seat doesn't move in any direction anymore. The rear seat behind the driver seat is stuck in the forward position right behind the drivers seat which is also stuck. Also, the horn hasn't worked since I purchased the vehicle. Seems like there are lots of electrical issues through out the vehicle. The seat belt alarm begin when I crunk the vehicle up in the morning. I wasn't in motion. The middle seat behind the driver seat flew forward while vehicle was in motion and got stuck and has been stuck ever since. My sons legs are too long to sit in that rear seat and I have a carseat in the other. With these stuck seats there isn't much room. The electrical issues in the driver seat makes me wonder if it's not registering when I'm wearing a seat belt, is the air bag going to go off if it needed to?

Bought car January 23,2018. On February 28, 2018 went to store and came out and tried to get in vehicle, however the locks would not open. I got the key out and opened the door. There was no power whatsoever to the vehicle. Called aaa for a jump. They tested battery and said it was fine, tried to jump it, but would not start. Had to get towed to dealership. They have had the car and have not been able to figure out what is wrong so far (as of 3/2/18). The vehicle was parked when this situation occurred.
